👋 Hello, I'm Adam! I'm an animal lover, a feminist, and I'm nice to waiters. I'm also the Creative Director of Special Day Films, where we specialise in a blend of cinematic and candid event videography. I've been making wedding videos for quite a while now, and it's like telling the story of one of the most important days in somebody's life, so as much as I'd like to be a cynic about it, I love it.
We're based in York, North Yorkshire, and we've been lucky to film weddings up and down the country - in actual castles and village halls and everything in between. Regardless of the setting or the budget, what we always love is seeing the couple's personalities woven into their big day. Sometimes it's stuff like in-jokes for the table names or unconventional music choices. But it's also those unplanned moments, like the bride getting locked in the wedding car (this actually happened!), or a grandparent's first-ever Jagerbomb. These are the things we'll be looking out for when we're making the film of your special day.
People often tell us that they forgot we were there on the day (not usually a compliment!), so you don't need to worry about us getting in the way, and it means a lot to us that so many of our bookings come through word of mouth - it's always nice to catch up with a familiar face! We take pride in being down-to-earth and approachable, so if you have any questions at all, please get in touch.
Services Offered
We take great pride in our work, and our pricing reflects the time and attention we invest in every project (we want to be the best wedding videographer in Yorkshire AND the best value!).
We have two flexible video packages you can use as a starting point. From there, you have the freedom to add, change, or remove elements entirely to create a bespoke video package that suits your preferences and budget perfectly. On top of that, we have a Super LoFi package for anyone nostalgic for old-school camcorder weddings. We also offer Content Creation in case that's more your style.
So if you're at the early stages and looking for wedding inspiration or deep in it and putting the final touches to the master plan, let's chat!

Please note, here at Special Day Films, we are committed to supporting equality, diversity and inclusion. We fundamentally believe that everyone should be able to marry the person they love, and we would be proud to help you celebrate this special day. We cater to all faiths, and we use "wedding" as shorthand to cover civil ceremonies, Nikkah, handfasting, tying the knot, vow renewals or any other kind of unity ceremony! We wholeheartedly welcome enquiries from the LGBTQIA+ community and support marriage equality just as we support equality elsewhere.
Special Day Films - Videography is a wedding videography business operating out of York, North Yorkshire.

Meet the team
Hello, I’m Adam…
I think I'm a pretty decent chap: I'm an animal lover, a feminist, and I'm nice to waiters. Those aren’t reasons to hire a videographer, but if I’m going to be at your wedding you might want to know a little bit about me!
Once upon a time I would’ve preferred to be on the other side of the camera; I used to want to be an actor, although if you met me now you’d never guess - I’m not someone who typically wants to be centre of attention and my partner will confirm that I’m horrible in selfies. That said, I do love getting compliments on my work - that’s why you’ll see so many quotes from previous customers dotted around our website.
I’ve always been interested in telling stories; I used to draw comic strips and make stop motion animations with my childhood toys and often gathered school friends to shoot sketch shows. Technology has come a long way since I was editing tape between two VCR players – I love the fact that smartphones allow me to carry essentially a movie camera around in my back pocket, and outside of work I’m still constantly snapping away or shooting little videos.
I’ve worked on documentaries, feature films, short films, live events, music videos, live-streamed talks, archaeological digs, memorial services, sports promos, and web series. I’ve worked with artists, theatre companies, schools, small and large businesses, roller derby teams, living history sites, breweries, burlesque dancers, festivals, restaurants, and charities.
Shooting and editing a wedding is like telling the story of one of the most important days in somebody's life, and as much as I’d like to play it cool and be a cynic about it, I love it.
