Highly recommend Songbird wedding videos!

Right from the first contact with Rachael we knew we were in safe hands with how informative and responsive she was and so lovely and friendly too!

Throughout the lead up to the wedding Rachael gave us regular updates with a timeline of everything right up till receiving our wedding video. Which was so reassuring!

Before the wedding Rachael introduced us to Jamie who was with us on the day. We had a video call to discuss how everything will work which again made us feel in safe hands! Jamie was very informative and was happy to answer any questions we had!

Jamie on the day was such a calming influence which is exactly what you need especially in the morning! He jelled in perfectly and got on so well with our family, friends and worked so well with our photographer which is exactly the vibe we was hoping for!

We have received our videos back and WOW they are everything and more! The high quality and the way it captures our day to include so many special memories is wonderful and we cannot thank both Rachael and Jamie enough they are such a lovely couple!

We just received our final wedding videos from Songbird, and we are absolutely over the moon. Jamie captured our day perfectly, the shots are absolutely beautiful and helped us to relive our whole day. Not only that, Jamie was an absolute pleasure to share our day with, he is friendly, puts you at absolute ease, we actually didn’t even notice we were being filmed it was all so natural. Great communication afterwards with Rachael to ensure our videos are perfect…Would 100% recommend songbird to anyone getting married!!! Jamie and Rachael were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. They were responsive, friendly, and put us at ease immediately - we're not naturally comfortable on camera, but we knew we wanted a wedding video to have a lovely memory of our day. Our expectations were absolutely blown out of the water! On the day, Jamie was wonderful and worked amazingly with our photographers. When we got the videos back, we were stunned by how beautifully edited they were, and how much footage he'd been capturing throughout the day (can recommend the drone package as well!). The process of booking was fairly seamless. On the day Jamie our videographer was very calm and never intrusive, yet he managed to capture some fabulous moments as well as getting around so many of our guests. Before the day, Rachael checked in to ensure she had the latest itinerary and introduced Pav who arrange a call to run through our day. On the day, Pav was a ninja. He was barely noticeable, as everyone noted, but clearly captured everything and worked really well with our photographer.

The outcome? Great videography and clever editing, not limited to the sound overlay of the ceremony, speeches and music in the highlight version. We look like celebrities! The quality in the highlight and long edit is amazing and watching them brings all the joy and emotion back. On top of this, what really helped us remember the day (and see the things we actually missed), was the raw footage. We're still going through them now, memory by memory.

Songbird was the videographer for our wedding in April 2022. They were recommended to us through another supplier. They operate with contracted videographers who would film the event, and the footage is later edited by the owner, Rachael. On top of the standard package, we also opted for the drone and the ‘speedy delivery’ options, both at an additional cost. Specifically, the speedy delivery option would ‘guarantee’ all videos within 1 month of wedding date.

Although we did receive the first draft of the highlights within the agreed timeframe, the quality of it was unacceptable. It was rushed, hastily put together, and some basic requirements were not met. For example, despite reminding the videographer that we didn't want the crying noise of a baby guest during the vow exchange; to our horror, the raw, unedited audio of the baby crying was just ‘cut and pasted’ onto the first draft. It sounded absolutely horrendous when overlaid with soft wedding music. Also, they had only included a mere seconds of the drone shots (why would we pay so much for only seconds of this?), didn't adjust the volume during the speeches to match with the rest of the video, and didn't include some of the major moments of our day. Instead, some random guest footage/cheesy dancing shots were included, which disrupted the flow of the video. Mind you, these are basic requirements of a basic wedding video, and not our personal preference.

It took us a very long time reviewing this first draft, and it was very stressful and tiring going through the video. It made us quite angry and shocked. Honestly, it took away the joy of our day and instead, we felt like we were basically directing the video ourselves, when Songbird were hired to do so, professionally. Over the course of the year, 2 more edits were made; again, each time it took us a long time to review and give feedback. While the communication was polite, it was not an enjoyable experience, when this should’ve been a joyful reminder of our special day. At times we were fearful to watch the video because of the sheer amount of stress associated with it. There were a few months gap in communication between the 2nd and final 3rd draft because of this - Songbird did not follow up with us. We chased up towards the end of 2022 ourselves to wrap this up. They did fix up all the issues at the end, which left us with mixed feelings - if they are equipped to do this, why didn’t they do it in the beginning?

When the final edit was finally ready, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the poor quality of the first draft, and told them we felt that we were penalised for having opted for the 'speedy' delivery. We politely requested a refund for the speedy delivery fee. We had felt this way since the day they sent us that dreaded first draft, but was afraid they would not fix the video if we had expressed this earlier. However, Songbird pulled out the virtual contract that we had initially signed (the link to which has since expired), quoted that they had gone ‘above and beyond’ for us, and that they didn’t charge us any extra for the subsequent editing work, which usually costs £50/hour.

Honestly at this point, we’re just glad that we finally have a video to show family and friends. We found it absolutely ridiculous that they could just deliver such poor quality work with no justification (proven by the fact that the all of the issues were fixed in the end). Essentially you’re paying extra for a quick mesh up/poor draft, and as a ‘goodwill of gesture’ they will fix it up for you ‘for free’? If you’re unable to deliver an acceptable finished product within the expedited timeframe, do not offer this! We feel responsible to share our story so other couples can BE WARNED. Would have given one star if not for the videographer on the day, Jamie, who was great to work with. But that’s about it. All the subsequent stress, grief, and anger were not worth it.

We’ve just received the USB for all the footage - 11 months after our wedding. Thank god it's over now.
