We are The Camera Chap Weddings, Wedding Videographers based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. With over 14 years of experience in the filmmaking industry, we have documented hundreds of weddings. Owned by Carina and Martin Simpson-Hughes, we cover all sorts of weddings from high profile celebrity weddings to small intimate wedding ceremonies and everything in between. We even captured the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Royal Wedding for the BBC. We love every minute of working with our couples, from the Initial brief to watching them smile with absolute happiness on the dance floor.
Services Offered
At The Camera Chap Weddings we mainly serve Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, and West Sussex, however our wonderful job sees us travel to destinations across Europe. We’ve been working our magic since 2008, so you can rest assured that you're in very capable hands. What does the wedding package include?
We have a variety of wedding video packages. Our most popular package is the Fred Astaire which includes:
10 minute mini film
3 minute trailer film
Ceremony in full
Speeches in full
How far in advance should I contact you?
As soon as possible!
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, we travel all over Europe! However our main areas are Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire and West Sussex
What is the charge for travelling?
We don't charge for travel within Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. If you're getting hitched outside of these counties, don't panic our charges are minimal
What kind of technology do you use?
Digital
Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
Our wedding films are bespoke to our couples. Before we film any wedding we take a full brief via video call to find out your exact requests, music choices and timeline of the day
What kind of equipment do you use?
Only the best! We are a bit different from most and we use Netflix approved camera technology - mainly because of all the super-duper TV work we do, but also because the images are bloomin' amazing!
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

How do you charge extra time?
We always take a full brief via video call before filming any wedding, an arrival and departure time is agreed on the call. If on the day you need us to stay later that's not a problem!
What are the forms of payment?
Bank Transfer. As a small business card payment are just too expensive. We do accept Paypal but there is a surcharge
How do you work?
We work with our couples to produce unique, fun and organic weddings films. On the day we do our absolute best to blend in with the crowd and capture everything in a natural yet cinematic way

The best decision I ever made
I knew from the start I wanted something to look back on after our wedding day and Martin gave us just that and then some. Happy tears fill my eyes every time I watch our remarkable video.
Half the time I didn’t even know Martin was around or filming us!
Martin looked after us so well (our venue weren’t the best at doing this!).
He worked so well with our photographers and constantly made us laugh and relax.
I cannot put into words how happy I am with our videos, how much I would recommend him. Thank you for making a dream come true.

Absolute perfection.

He didn’t just make our video, he completed our wedding day!
WOWOWOWOW OMG! The videos are amazing!!!! We’re so so pleased to bits. We didn’t want a cheesy, soppy wedding video -we wanted something upbeat and fun to reflect our personalities and wedding, and you absolutely nailed it!! Every detail was captured including the general fabulosity and mad atmosphere.
Thank you so much for being so fabulous both in the editing suite and on the day. Your presence added to our whole wedding day and our guests loved the camera haha. We reflected on our day on our wedding night and genuinely were saying how it was people like you who made it so brilliant. The day itself and the videos were better than we could have ever imagined.

Perfect Wedding Video
We are so happy with our wedding video - it’s absolutely perfect! Martin had been recommended to us by my brother and sister-in-law so we were already familiar with the way he worked and his finished product.
Martin is incredibly professional and very friendly. His response times in the lead up to our wedding we’re very quick and the briefing call via Zoom was very helpful.
On the day, Martin arrived promptly and blended in to the background very well and worked very well with our photographer. In the nicest way possible, you almost forgot he was there!
We went for the Fred Astaire package (3 min trailer, 10 min mini film, and ceremony and speeches in full) and are thrilled with the results. The presentation of the memory stick in the little box is also a fantastic added touch!

Amazing videographers!
Unbelievably happy with our wedding videos from the Camera Chap. We were so happy to have chosen them to capture our big day. Seamlessly slotting into the background, and capturing some truly amazing moments, they have given us videos that we will cherish forever. Can’t recommend or thank them enough! Definitely don’t hesitate to have a videographer if you’re on the fence. Our videos will be on repeat forever!
