timeless Venue
James and I got married here, and we’ve been back so many times since for weddings and other events. Every visit brings back the happiest memories, and driving through the gates still gives me that same feeling every single time.
The Manor itself is absolutely stunning. It’s full of character and history, the gardens are always immaculate, and wherever you look there’s something beautiful to take in.
For me, it’s just one of those places that always feels special. There’s such a lovely atmosphere, everyone is so welcoming, and every time we go back it just feels like coming home.
Choosing Thornton Manor for our wedding was one of the easiest decisions we ever made, and if we had our time again, we’d choose it all over again. It really is such a special place, and I honestly couldn’t recommend it more to anyone looking for the perfect wedding venue.
Dream Venue
The Manor itself is absolutely stunning. It's full of history and character without ever feeling dated, and the grounds are some of the best you'll find anywhere. No matter the season, it's a beautiful place to spend the day and there always seems to be another great spot for photographs that you hadn't noticed before.
What really stands out though is how well everything is run. The staff are always friendly, organised and genuinely want everyone to have a great time. Whether we've been there as the bride and groom or simply as guests, the whole experience has always felt relaxed and seamless.
If you're looking for a wedding venue that's both impressive and timeless, I honestly can't recommend Thornton Manor highly enough. It was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, and it's somewhere we'll always enjoy going back to.
The Venue That Made Our Day Unforgettable
The venue itself is absolutely stunning – full of character, beautifully maintained, and the perfect backdrop for a wedding. The grounds are incredible and made for some amazing photos, while the Great Hall created such an unforgettable atmosphere for the ceremony and reception.
The whole day ran so smoothly, and the team were fantastic throughout – attentive, organised, and always on hand to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it.
We stayed on site the night before, which made everything feel relaxed and stress-free, and allowed us to really enjoy every moment of the day.
So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and how much they enjoyed the entire experience.
We honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place to get married – we would highly recommend Thornton Manor to anyone looking for a truly special wedding venue.

The venue was beautiful and all staff were incredibly helpful and supportive with everything that I needed providing or delivering to the venue, before and after the event.
Philip and Dianne were lovely as owners and couldn’t have been more flexible with my needs and requests.

See Thornton Manor as autumn arrives — our September Wedding Showcase
There's a moment each September when the estate begins to turn: the parkland takes on its first golden tones, the light softens across the gardens, and the Manor feels at its most romantic. It's our favourite time to show couples around — and on Sunday 13th September, we'd love to show you.
The estate is open and dressed for a wedding. Stand beneath the soaring skylit ceilings of the Music Room, imagine an intimate ceremony by the fireplace in the Library, and walk the Lime Tree Walk where so many couples say "I do". Every space will be styled as it would be on a real wedding day — ceremony through to evening reception — so you're not imagining your day from a brochure. You're standing in it.
You'll meet the people who'd make it happen, too. Our Events Team will be on hand all day to answer questions, talk through dates and ideas, and show you how a day (or a whole weekend) at Thornton Manor comes together.
Our trusted suppliers, including our exceptional catering and bar partners, will be serving up seasonal tasters, drinks and styling ideas to spark your plans.
A showcase that doesn't feel like a crowd. Rather than an open-door event, we host appointment slots every hour and a half, starting at 9.30am with the final slot at 3.30pm — giving you a full ninety minutes to explore at your own pace, get real answers to your questions, and experience the estate closer to how it would feel on your wedding day: exclusively yours.

We invite you to explore Thornton Manor this September. This Open Evening is designed to inspire your wedding plans and help you imagine your day unfolding within our beautiful Country Estate.
Wander through our historic Manor House and surrounding parkland as autumn colours and golden light bring every corner of the estate to life. Each space will be thoughtfully styled to reflect the season, helping you visualise your celebration from ceremony through to evening reception, and showcasing the timeless elegance that makes Thornton Manor so special.
Throughout the evening, our experienced Events Team will be available to offer guidance, answer your questions, and share ideas tailored to your vision.
To ensure a relaxed and personal experience, we’re hosting hourly slots between 3.30pm – 7.30pm, allowing you time to explore at your own pace, ask questions, and truly take in the atmosphere of the venue.
