Set at the picturesque riverside location in London, The William Morris Pub Function room is a tranquil oasis that offers a unique space for weddings and other special occasions. It has a capacity to host 42 people (for a sit-down meal) to upwards of 80 people during warmer summer months. An unexpected gem steeped in the history of Merton Abbey Mills and textile printing, it is waiting to be discovered by you and your guests!
Our guests love:
- A section of private terrace is included for you to enjoy the outside, the atmosphere and riverside views.
- A projector, easel, sound system, and microphone are included. We can also provide a karaoke machine.
- A fully stocked bar for drinks and refreshments.
- Versatile buffet menu with something for everyone.
- Bring your own cake!
- We are a child and dog-friendly venue - everyone is welcome!
- There is no hire fee- instead, we ask that a minimum spend threshold be achieved.
What you need to know:
Regrettably, we do not have a lift/wheelchair access to our upstairs room.
The toilets are downstairs only.

Our Wedding Reception at the William Morris!
Our Wedding Reception at the William Morris! We had our wedding reception at the WMP on Sat 20th May 2023. Kit and the team worked their backsides off to deliver a seamless, laid back reception with an amazing atmosphere. We had a few ideas as to what we wanted to do as we were unsure what the weather would be like. The team bent over backwards to help us and gave us the perfection event.
We had lovely sharing platters of hot food, a Prosecco reception and then an evening of drinks and dancing. We received so many compliments from our guests. The pub is a real gem. There is such a lovely vibe. The team are the ones that really made it though. I heard nothing but excellent feedback. They anticipated our needs, delivered every part with professionalism and made the whole event flow beautifully.
Our guests loved the way we did our wedding. There was no waiting around or unnecessary formality, yet it still felt like a wedding. We didn't have to do much to make the venue look great as it already does. We had bits and pieces to make it our own and the team were there to help and support.
I can't fault them. Excellent value for money and the pub has a soul, unlike a boring golf course with a standard 3 course meal and half a bottle of wine. For the same budget we were able to provide delicious food that the guest actually liked and a flowing pre paid bar. Result. We hope that the pub holds many more events like this. They deserve every success and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone and everyone. We will definitely do another party there as soon as we can think of an occasion!

Amazing, laid back back wedding venue
We booked the William Morris for our wedding party for 75 people and had the most incredible experience. Through the planning process Nat made us feel totally at ease and was very flexible to all our requests. On the day the room looked beautiful and the staff behind the bar and clearing drinks/running food were all so friendly. The service was excellent and the food we ordered was really tasty. The next day the team had very kindly already started clearing away our decorations which made collection super easy. I could not more highly recommend to the William Morris for anyone looking for a fun, laid back wedding party. Thank you so much to all the team for making it so special.
