The Swan Hotel is a wedding venue located in the village of Bibury, in Gloucestershire, England. Situated on the banks of the River Coln, in the heart of the Cotswolds, this enchanting 18th-century property abounds with elegance and charm. You and your guests can marvel at the ivy-clad walls and the well-manicured English garden and lose yourself amidst scenes of exquisite joy and timeless splendour. Whether you're planning an intimate celebration or a large traditional wedding, the management team is ready to create a memorable wedding experience.

Facilities and Capacity

The Swan Hotel offers indoor and outdoor event spaces. The Library, located at the front of the hotel, is ideal for small weddings. It can accommodate up to 26 guests and features beautiful wooden floors, rich red walls, and a magnificent original fireplace. The adjacent Signet Room can seat 100 ceremony guests and 110 people for a wedding breakfast or evening reception. The elegant room also boasts a stylish tartan carpet, lovely blue walls, shimmering chandeliers, and several large windows that bathe the space in natural light. Outside in the garden, you will find the delightful Summer House, ideal for open-air ceremonies that can accommodate up to 100 people. After your festivities, your guests can retire to the hotel's 22 bedrooms.

The Swan Hotel is licensed for civil ceremonies, and the hotel's friendly team is proud to support love in all its splendour and variety. The venue also has dining rooms, reception rooms, entertainment facilities, and suites for overnight accommodation. Dream Wedding!

Our May wedding at The Swan was the best day! Charlotte was our coordinator for all the prior planning and on the day, she was an absolute gem throughout the whole process and so knowledgeable, every meeting felt like a coffee catch up with a friend! As a wedding coordinator myself, I was so happy with the run of the day, everything felt so relaxed and in hand which we are really grateful for. A special thanks to Natalia and Maria who were such amazing help on the day, the team are so friendly and what a stunning location to have our special day! We can’t wait to come back again in the future!

Unbeatable - Georgia, you are amazing!

Our wedding day was absolutely incredible and we cannot thank Georgia the hotels wedding coordinator and the venue enough. We truly had the best day possible and Georgia couldn’t have done any more for us. Georgia was so great at suggesting fun ideas for the day and anything we asked of her, she completely embraced and made sure it was sorted for us. We met with Georgia a couple of times before the big day and she totally got our vision and we had so much confidence in her. Also, the day before the wedding we showed Georgia our signage/decorations and she set it all up for us on the day - we didn’t need to worry about anything!
The food was incredible and the whole venue was just gorgeous. Georgia was checking on us all throughout the day and even our guests noticed how attentive and kind she was to everyone. We loved the honeymoon suite too!
We are just so grateful and couldn’t recommend the venue & Georgia enough. We also loved how transparent the pricing was when we booked the venue as this can be tricky in the early stages of looking for wedding venues.
If you are looking for an amazing wedding venue definitely consider The Swan Hotel, it is full of character and we just had the best time ever!🤍

March 2026 wedding at The Swan Hotel, Bibury

Our wedding at The Swan Hotel exceeded our expectations. Georgia, Natalia and all the staff could not have done more to make our day so special. Every detail was thought of, the food was incredible, the rooms are stunning, and our guests were equally impressed by how much care and attention was given by the staff there. We will never be able to thank them enough.

The Swan made our wedding perfect.

The team at The Swan, made everything so easy, from planning stages to the big day. Charlotte was on hand to help us out with any questions we had during the process. The package they offered was amazing value for money and there is no lack in quality. We had a few complicated allergies and they were able to accommodate this with no concerns. We had the lovely Natalia helping us on the day and I cannot rate her high enough, she made our day run so smoothly. The setting in Bibury is wonderful and made for some great photography opportunities.

Amazing Day

We have been visiting the Swan Hotel for the last 13 years and always said that if we were to get married it would be here. On the 15th June 2025 we did just that and had the most amazing day. The weather was kind and we got married in the gardens which was so beautiful. The staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them, and Charlotte and the team worked so hard to make our day so special.

Wedding at The Swan

We had our wedding here, all the staff were amazing, Charlotte the Wedding Coordinator was so helpful at organising everything for us. We ended up turning up much earlier than expected and they managed to accommodate our outside drinks & canapés earlier than planned. The food was wonderful too, we had a lot of allergies and they dealt with them so well. The rooms have a lot of character and my guests really enjoyed staying there.

Stunning venue

We had our wedding here in March and what a magical day it was. We loved the location and to be able to find a wedding venue in one of our favourite places we love visiting, was just a dream. From our first visit of The Swan, Molly made us feel welcome and confident that she would help make our day as special as can be. She was so friendly, polite and knowledgeable we just knew we could trust her. The whole process of planning was made so smooth and enjoyable. Molly and the staff here excelled our expectations and did a wonderful job. Our bridal suite was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable. In fact all of our guests rooms were great! The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We couldn’t fault a single thing. Our guests and I had the most amazing day. All the staff here were so incredibly helpful and kind. We will be back for a visit soon!

Magical, extraordinary, perfect

We had our wedding reception at the Swan and it was incredible. Honestly the best day! Nothing was too much trouble and the staff are so lovely and kind. The food was fantastic, with canapes being delivered straight to us before being circulated around guests to ensure we managed to eat them! Molly, our wedding planner, was amazing and an absolute joy to work with. If you choose the Swan as your venue you will not be disappointed!

Utterly perfect day

We cannot thank Molly and the team enough for making our day perfect, I can honestly say nothing went wrong and the day exceeded our expectations of our perfect wedding. The venue was stunning, food was INCREDIBLE, and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the location and how well everything ran. We feel so so lucky to have had such a beautiful venue and amazing suppliers to bring our dream day to life. Thank you!!

Molly and the team were sensational!!

You cannot beat the Swan Hotel for your wedding! From start to finish Molly the wedding planner looked after us and was an amazing support throughout! All of the staff at The Swan are professional and genuinely lovely people. The setting was absolutely perfect and we had no rain which is a bonus. The food and drinks were lovely with service on the day faultless. Everything was taken care for us on the day including decorating the venue, supplier set up and looking after all of our guests. We didn't want it to end or leave The Swan! Perfect Day!

Belated thank you

On behalf of my wife and I, we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your help and efforts in putting together our wedding day itself.
Sorry for the delay in sending this, we had a lovely honeymoon travelling around South East Asia, New Zealand & Australia.
Every time we visited the Swan we were always really impressed with the attitude of the Staff, the quality of the venue and the food was lovely. We had lots of feedback from our guests saying how grand the venue was.

Poem written for the Swan

Thank you seems such a little thing to say, for giving us such a memorable day,
so a poem I created especially for you,
expressing appreciation for all that you do, 2014 Steve asked me to be his wife, to have and to hold for the rest of our life, finding a venue was the first job to be done, after visiting the Swan we knew it was the one, everything about it was meant to be, even the chance to have a garden ceremony, Charlotte the wedding planner is second to none, a definite heroine unsung, she takes everything in her stride, handling it with kindness and pride, her and her team are first rate, attention to detail totally great, so thank you again to an awesome team, for helping us achieve our wedding dream!

Delightful setting

We wanted to write to thank you and all your colleagues for all of your hard work on and before August 6th.
We were blessed with a wonderful day weather wise, and every part of the ceremony ran smoothly. The Swan is a delightful setting made all the better by the fact that nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
Thank you again for helping to create a truly memorable day for our family and friends.

Every box ticked

Ann and I would like to thank you again for all the hard work and commitment you and your staff put in to make the day run effortlessly. Your input and advice during the preparations was invaluable, and contributed immeasurably in ensuring the day ran to plan. We can honestly say without exception, the staff could not have done more to ensure it was a day to remember for Claire and Ben. The involvement of the Swan team ensured that every box was ticked. The duty manager (Ian I think) was also influential in ensuring the day’s proceedings went smoothly, so please pass on our thanks to him.
Special thanks should go to the kitchen staff, often the unsung heroes on these occasions. To deliver the food to such an exacting standard, when timings are constantly changing during the day must be a management nightmare in itself. The canapés were delicious, wedding meal beautifully prepared, presented, and served, and the hog roast excellent. Please pass our thanks on to all staff involved with the food preparation. The waiting staff were excellent throughout the day, and we would like to send special thanks to the waiter who attended the top table.
Although Claire was concerned on the day that the ceremony would not take place in the garden, both Claire and Ben came to the conclusion that the indoor ceremony did not harm the day in any way. On reflection, they thought it was a more personal ceremony away from the background noise.
I would not hesitate to use the Swan again.
