The Plough and Barn at Leigh is a charming wedding venue located in Hildenborough, Tonbridge in West Kent. Surrounded by the charming Kent countryside, the 17th Century inn and rustic event barn boast the most beautiful views in a tranquil location. While you can enjoy the peace of the rural location in The Garden of England, the venue is conveniently located near the motorway network, perfect for your traveling guests.
Facilities and Capacity
The Plough and Barn has preserved many of its original features, most notably the striking wooden beams. The spacious barn also boasts a minstrels’ gallery and wood-burning stoves to create a peaceful and warm atmosphere in the winter months. The Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies and can accommodate up to 150 guests during the summer months and 130 during the winter for your romantic service and following wedding breakfast. The barn is also great for your evening reception, the exclusive use of the garden, barn and pub is suitable for 180 guests to celebrate into the night. The property's hedgerow gazebo makes an ideal sunny setting for your spring and summer ceremony giving the occasion a possible boho flair.

We had the absolute best Wedding Day and this was, in large part, to the work of the amazing staff at The Plough and Barn. From our first meeting with Hazel, to many emails exchanged with Della and Becky, and the commitment of all the staff on the day, we highly appreciated it all.
We loved the venue from when we first saw it and our guests are still talking about what a brilliant venue it is. We loved the different areas and the casual but formal feel. It fitted us and what we wanted perfectly! We're so glad the weather was kind to us and we were able to get married outside, and enjoy the garden for so much of the day. The set up in The Barn was exactly as we (eventually) imagined. Della was so patient while we decided on this!
The food was vitally important to us and they delivered exceptionally well. They listened and adjusted to all our requests - the pinchos were delicious, the pork and crackling melted in the mouth, the salads were exactly what we wanted and the cheese went down a storm both on Saturday and for many days afterwards. The Signature Drinks proved very popular so thank you also to Darren for taking the time to get the Caipirihna's right!

Our wedding made very special by a brilliant team
Over 3 years planning and date changes due to covid. Hazel was incredibly flexible, understanding and sympathetic.
Building up to the day, Della and Becky just made it easy. They knew exactly what they were doing and made us feel very calm.
On the day, Della, Becky and their team were amazing. Every guest without exception commented on the quality of the customer service.
Fabulous wedding made very special by a passionate, hard-working, funny and efficient team of real professionals. Thank you all for a dream wedding.

Absolutely perfect
We just had our wedding here and it was absolutely sensational. The team went above and beyond to ensure the day went without a hitch. They did everything possible to make the day super special. From the decorations to the emotional support be, they managed and supported it all! Della and the team are simply wonderful to deal with, I couldn’t recommend this venue more.

Couldn’t fault! Amazing from the beginning to the very end
The whole team at the plough were amazing. Myself & every guest were amazed at how perfect my wedding day went. I couldn’t say one bad or negative thing about my wedding day thanks to the plough. The staff are so professional & friendly, helping my day run smoothly. Highly recommend!

The perfect day! Stunning venue and amazing team
You simply can't fault The Plough, from the first time I visited I was blown away by the fantastic team and stunning venue.
I was looking for a rustic but elegant barn vibe and from the beginning, the team understood my vision and helped bring it all to life. I even had some odd requests (as my husband is Guatemalan so we wanted to bring his culture into the day) and the team exceeded all expectations, our guests were blown away.
The food at The Plough is also exceptional, all of our guests commented how fantastic it was (nothing like your usual, often dry wedding food!), we had the slow-cooked beef for mains and it was mouth-watering.
On the day, the whole Plough team were outstanding, they were friendly and warm and so efficient. I couldn't believe how quickly they set up the room!
I cannot recommend The Plough enough, you will be in such trusted hands and you know your day will run smoothly and beautifully.

The most perfect day
If you’re considering The Plough as a potential venue for your wedding then I advise you to book it. We got married on the 25th September 2021 after postponing for a year due to COVID and the whole process was smooth and easy. Hazel and her team are so professional at what they do and make your wedding feel so unique and special.
We have had countless compliments from our guests on the venue and also on the food. We went for the hog roast… it was fantastic!
Thank you to the Plough for making our day so special, I just wish we could do it all again !

💕Our perfect magical day 💕
We just got married here and I can’t recommend it enough. Great location, an absolutely beautiful barn inside (there natural look of the barn was just gorgeous there wasn’t need yo go over the top with decorations, just minimal ones to compliment it and outside in the garden area, was great so much space, there was no child left running riot because their time was filled with so many activities due to the amount of space,plenty of parking, beautiful view. It was my dream venue and I’m in love with it. the manager, and her team were amazing and was so helpful the entire way through. They also work with a lot of great vendors that they recommend to you. We had previously had to postpone due to covid but it was defiantly worth the wait and whole experience of getting married, and it was something everybody enjoyed. Especially after all the lockdown and emotions and craziness we was al so greatful that it was finally able to ahead and happen. The day was the best day of our life 💕💕 truely perfect!!

Our perfect wedding day
What can i say we finally had our dream wedding at The Plough and Barn on the 8th July. This was our 3rd date due to Covid and Hazel calmly professionally helped us reschedule with excellent communication. The day could not have been any better we where looked after so well by all off the team especially Becky from start to finish. They accommodated every request and i just got to relax on the day knowing it was all taken care of. We where so lucky to get married outside in the beautiful gazebo, have a lovely day outside in the sunshine playing garden games. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the food and drink was amazing and plentiful. Thanks again Mr & Mrs Oliver

Unflappable consummate professionals
The Plough were incredible from start to finish. Originally booked out wedding in 2020 but had to be postponed due to covid. We rescheduled for a year later and they were so accommodating and flexible. Hazel, Della, Mick and the team made our day just magical and were just a pleasure to liaise with. Covid made me incredibly anxious but after every meeting they made me feel so much better about getting married with them. Can't fault them.

Our amazing wedding
We finally had our wedding day at the Plough on 22/10/21, after several postponements due to COVID. Hazel was on hand throughout all the years of planning to answer any questions and was incredibly supportive and flexible when we needed to postpone. Nothing was too much and Hazel always got back to us promptly. Della, Becky & the team were also amazing in the lead up to and on the day. I had such a relaxing day because I trusted the team so much. Staff on the day were fab. The food was seriously good - we had so many compliments on the food. Delicious and hot. The barn is so welcoming and the pub warm and cosy, it was just the perfect venue for us. Would defo recommend to anyone looking for a barn venue in Kent. Thank you again to the team and we look forward to visiting the pub again soon!

Alex and I wanted to say thank you so much for your amazing service, work and hospitality on our wedding day. You have been fantastic, since the first time we met you to all our meetings and finally, our reception. Your communication throughout has been amazing and you’ve been so helpful.
When we first came to visit The Plough, Alex had found it on Google and we weren’t too sure what to expect. But when we saw the pub with all the hops and the barn we knew straight away we wanted our reception there. It is just so beautiful and was perfect. On our wedding day, you set up the barn just the way we imagined and it looked amazing, we were so happy when we first saw it. Seeing all our hard work come together in your beautiful barn.
Our guests kept telling us how lovely The Plough looked and how friendly you all were. We can’t wait to see the professional photos of our decorations in the barn. Our guests especially loved the food, so many people said the portobellos mushrooms were delicious. We had vegans and people with allergies and you helped cater to them and they all enjoyed their meals very much. The party was so much fun and our friends loved talking to you at the bar.
The day was amazing, thank you so much for making it so special. We are so glad we chose The Plough at Leigh for our reception and we’ll definitely be visiting again.

Super organised place, we had a brilliant wedding reception!
Me and my wife were getting married in Cyprus and wanted to do a reception in the UK a week after for guests unable to get to Cyprus.
We had various issues with other establishments but as soon as we met with the team at the Plough and Barn at Leigh, we knew we were in good hands.
They were quick to answer any questions we had, as well as helping guide us through the running order of the reception. On the day everything was super organised, with no issues at all in getting things setup.
The venue itself was stunning, both the barn and the outside garden which thankfully we had good weather for. Everyone who attended had a great time and commented on how lovely the venue was.
After the stress of dealing with other venues before, me and my wife couldn't be happier of how this ended up. We will definitely be back for food and drink in future!

Brilliant service, beautiful venue
Not only is the venue at The Plough and Barn at Leigh absolutely stunning, but the staff who helped us up until our big day and on the day were brilliant. We had so many comments about how great the service was on the day, and it made our day stress free and left us in peace of mind Becky and team had it in hand. Fabulous from beginning to end!
The Plough and Barn at Leigh hosted our wedding recently. It exceeded our expectations. All the team were a pleasure to deal with. Their professionalism, huge experience and kindness was so apparent in everything they did for us.
Many of our guests commented on the beautiful venue, fantastic food and relaxed feel to the day. We had the most amazing time and wished the day wouldn't end. We would highly recommend the Plough and Barn at Leigh!
