Nestled in the heart of Minchinhampton Common, The Old Lodge is a wedding venue near Stroud. Surrounded by the Cotswolds, you'll find no shortage of gorgeous, spacious gardens and outstanding views across the Stroud Valleys. Renowned for its atmospheric pub and restaurant, our charming country pub can provide all you need for the perfect wedding day.

At The Old Lodge, we have three stunning licensed spaces for ceremonies of up to 100 people, including an outdoor pagoda. Situated away from main roads with ample parking, our venue offers a chance to celebrate your entire day in one idyllic location with the most stunning views over the five valleys. The property features a relaxing restaurant, cosy hideaways and 6 plush bedrooms to retreat to once the dancing is done! For larger families coming from slightly further afield, a number of self-catering apartments are available for longer stays less than ten minutes away in our nearby Sister-pub, The Old Fleece.

The Old Lodge team understand that weddings can be stressful celebrations to organise and endeavour to share some of the load. They can handle every aspect of your reception, covering welcome drinks, food, and decorations if needed. Our dedicated events manager, Alex will work closely with you to ensure that you have a wedding day that is unique to you both.

Wedding day

Alex and the team did an amazing job to ensure we had the wedding day we wanted , nothing was too much to ask and we basically had the relxing atmosphere we hoped for. Anything i asked for or suggested was always accommodated. This made it so unique for us rather than at a hotel where there are strict policies about certain things. The old lodge were awesome and everyone complimented us on our chased venue saying hie stunning it was. Thank you soo much for making our day perfect!!

Best day of our lives

We held our Wedding at the Old Lodge and had the most amazing day of our lives! The staff were wonderful throughout and nothing was too much trouble. Special shout out to Alex who went above and beyond every step of the way from the planning process to the to the slices of cake saved for our midnight feast.

A big big thank you to everybody at the Old Lodge for giving us the perfect day!

Mr and Mrs Mellor (4th May '23)

Molly and the team at The Old Lodge were fabulous from start to finish. Comms were always clear and Molly helped make our day run exactly the way we wanted it to - down to accommodating our different requirements for aspects of the day to ensuring guests were where they should be at the right time. Molly was super supportive on the day itself, dealing with all suppliers and guest queries as well as making sure I (as the Bride) had everything I needed. We fell in love with The Old Lodge during Covid, even before we were engaged, and new immediately that would be our wedding venue. Just beautiful and can't wait to come back again soon for more delicious food!

A perfect day

We are so happy we chose The Old Lodge for our wedding in May 24. The whole process of organising the wedding with them was relaxed. The staff on the day helped to put us at ease and made every effort to make the venue look beautiful with their own little touches and ours. We had a very happy day and the guests told us they thought the venue was beautiful and relaxed . Highly recommend for a venue that won’t break the bank but will still deliver an absolutely perfect day.

Perfect intimate venue !

We had 33 guests and wanted a personal and intimate veue…. What can i say ? the room looked amazing! The food was large portions, very tasty and we were given a great choice of menu options! On the day Alex and the team really looked after us, getting the schedule of the day perfect! All the bar staff and restaurant staff were happy and friendly. The day couldnt have gone any better! Thanks to all concerned

Top class professional service with a smile

We celebrated our Diamond Wedding anniversary and we were delighted with the effort put in by Alex and the team. We received plenty of comments as to how much our 70 odd guest enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you all.

Perfect in every way

Being a social awkward person myself I thought I would really struggle finding somewhere to host my wedding but molly and her team made the whole experience so easy for us. Always responsive and no question was a stupid question. Our day was absolutely amazing and enjoyed by everyone. The food is outstanding and the whole day was perfect.

Beautiful wedding venue, amazing food and great value for money

We had a perfect, relaxing and low key wedding exactly as we had hoped at the old lodge. The old lodge team made every effort to meet extra little special touches and adapted the meals for me (gluten and dairy free). The food was one of the main reasons we booked the venue; and that didn’t disappoint on the day either. Would highly recommend this relaxed, beautiful venue which is also extremely good value for money.

Molly and the team at the old lodge could not have been more professional and on point with everything. We were luck yo be able to Wed outside in the beautiful garden. Myself and my wife were all looked after and catered for in every aspect. The whole day was perfect and I'd highly recommend.

Wonderful team who bought our dream wedding to life

The team at The Old Lodge bought our wedding vision to life. Molly, the event coordinator, was attentive of every detail and request that we had. There were prompt responses to all our questions, and clarifications on elements that we were unsure about. Leading up to the day, nerves were eased through email and everything was accounted for. On the big day, Molly ensured that we were well looked after, keeping us to time and letting us know of anything that we should have been involved with. The whole team on the day were wonderful, bringing everything together so smoothly and without a hitch. We could not have asked for our wedding to go any better and it is a day we will never forget. A huge thank you to Molly and the whole team at The Old Lodge who worked tirelessly throughout the day (and evening!), and who bought our wedding dream to life.

We had the most amazing day from start to finish, all the staff were helpful friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Everything was planned and carried out with thought and care . We can’t recommend them enough for the most perfect and amazing food all prepared to accommodate people with food allergies . This venue was a big part of helping our day turn out to be everything we wanted for our wedding.

Giles Weddin 05/22

We decided on the Lodge as it was the perfect setting. Lots if parking, beautiful views and lovely rooms to stay in. The thing that most took us were the people, Molly was the wedding planner and we couldn't have asked for anyone more lovely, she went above and beyond for us. I had forgotten to write on my favours so Molly took it upon herself to do this for me she even helped me tie my sash when I thought all hope of doing so was lost. Our every wish was there. We had wedding, wedding breakfast and evening reception here as it was so easy to stay in one place. Manu was on hand along side Molly throughout the process and on the day he was fabulouls nothing was too much trouble. Henry was behind the bar and we had such a blast with him they all make you feel like family. The food was to die for, all of my guests were super impressed the portions are really good, the evening buffet surpassed our expectations. The room was set up just as we wanted it, OCD Molly had it all looking perfect. We had the most wonderful day, my friends are still talking about it and many have now become regulars at the lodge. We stayed over night and breakfast the next morning was stunning. I couldn't recommend The Lodge more for the perfect day. We are so glad we had ours there ... one word ... AMAZING
