Frequently Asked Questions
What is the price of your service?
My Prices vary. I tailor my prices to the wedding and am able to make some concessions depending on my availability, time of year and the venue.
I offer a range of extras such as a second photographer, wedding albums, wall art, engagement shoots and trash the dress sessions. These can be negotiated as part of a package before or after booking.
What I care most about is creating beautiful images that my clients will cherish and be proud to display. I don't want price to be the main reason for booking or not booking a photographer, if I am a good fit for your wedding then I would be happy to tailor a package which suits any budget.

How far in advance should I contact you?
It is import to book as early as possible as I take bookings a year prior to the wedding especially during the peak months, that said it's always good to check as I have been known to take last minute bookings.
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
Absolutely not, you will you be my main priority on the day and as such will have my undivided attention.
Are you able to travel?
Travelling is one of my favourite things so I would love to travel to your wedding. I go all over the uk and will travel worldwide for a good wedding. There is an extra cost for expenses (Flights and accommodation).
What is the charge for travelling?
I charge the cost of basic flights and accommodation, if I am not going to be able to work for a number of days due to travel then there will be a charge of £200 per day.
What style of photos do you take?
I am mainly a documentary styled photographer, I like to capture moments as they happen. I find that there are an abundance of such moments at weddings so why force people to pose.
For the couples photos I will pose slightly, however, I like to keep these poses to a minimum as I want to capture the couple being natural and comfortable with each other.
What kind of technology do you use?
I use the latest mirrorless cameras (Fuji Xpro 2) I have two of these on me plus I bring spares just in case I need them. I also use prime lenses mainly 16mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.2. I will have a range of other lenses with me but find that these two suit my style in most situations.
I back up my photos to 2 memory cards per camera in case a card fails (It's happened to me only once and I had a back up). I use high quality San Disk Etreme Pro memory cards for the best results.
I will then back up the images to an external hard drive when I get back to my computer, these will then be backed up again to two further hard drives prior to the photos being edited.
I use a Mac for editing the photos.
Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
I use a range of techniques in my work to suit the conditions. I love contrasty images so will use light and dark to create some drama for example a dark room with a window.
I Will also use off-camera flash in some situations to provide rim lighting, to compete with the sun or to highlight the mist of hairspray during getting ready shots.
I like to use a wide aperture to blur the background and keep my subject sharp, I usually shoot at f/1.4 or f/1.2 for this reason. On Sunny days I can achieve this with a neutral density filter or through the use of the electronic shutter on my cameras.
I like to photograph from low and high perspectives to create more interesting and dynamic composition.
What kind of equipment do you use?
I use Fuji Xpro 2 cameras as they are light weight, they do not intimidate guests due to their small size and the lenses are stellar quality. Added to this they have an electronic shutter which makes them silent, a bonus during the ceremony.
The image quality is superb from the sensors on these cameras and they have a backup memory card slot so that your images are copied incase of an unlikely card failure.
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes all of my clients can access their photos from an online gallery, they will receive a Client ID and this can be shared with their friends and family so that they can see the photos. They will also have a password to download the photos. There is an IOS and Android app which they can download for free from the app store and this will make it even easier to view their photos on their mobile devices.
What''s the delivery time for photographic report?
I aim to have the photos edited and delivered within 2 - 6 weeks, typically the photos are delivered within 2 weeks it is only in rare circumstances that this time period is exceeded.
Do you send all the photos taken?
You will only receive the photos that I have selected and edited. This will be plenty of photos, I take a lot more photos than I need to afford me choice when selecting the best images. I also do not want to miss important moments so will take a number of photos from the same moment to be sure and deliver the best one.
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?
For an all day wedding (10 hours plus) I tend to work with another professional photographer, I have a small bank of photographers who I trust to provide me with quality photos from a second perspective. Their photos are edited by me in my style. These photographers are sympathetic to my style of photography and endeavour to emulate this style as much as possible to ensure consistency.
If I do not need a second photographer I may still have an assistant to help make the the day go more smoothly.
In case of unforeseen circumstances, do you have a replacement photographer?
I have a small bank of photographer's on whom I can rely on for cover if I'm not able to make your wedding for any reason. If any of these photographers are not able to make your wedding I will endeavour to find a replacement and if this is not possible I have photography insurance and you will be compensated.
I would need to be extremely ill or unconscious to miss your wedding however, I have not missed one yet and I don't plan on missing any in the future.
Do you have the rights to publish the wedding photos?
Yes the photos remain my property and I am able to use them for my own publicity. The photos are yours do with what you wish, other than using them for commercial gain such as advertising. In this instance I would love for you to contact me and we would go halves on the profits!
Do you charge per hour or per event?
I charge per event as I tend to tailor a package for my clients which is more economical than having an hourly rate.
If needed, would you be able to work extra hours?
Absolutely I keep the whole day free for your wedding so I'm always available to stay longer.
How do you charge extra time?
Any extra time would be negotiated at an hourly rate.
What are the forms of payment?
I usually take payment via bank transfer, my bank details will appear on the invoice when payment is requested.
How do you work?
I am a relaxed and calm photographer, I like to put people at ease and make them comfortable during photo shoots. I'm like 90% of the public, I hate having my photo taken, therefore I don't expect people to warm to the idea if they can't warm to me. I am very much aware that you will spend most of your day in the presence of your photographer, I think it is really important that we get on well and that I get the best out of you, so I work hard to make you and your guests feel at ease. Most people say that working with me was like having another guest at their wedding.
