I don't even know where to start with how completely bowled over we have been with Oliver, Sharon and the team at The Normans.
From the first time we went to look around, through the whole 2 years of our planning, and the day itself we couldn't have asked for more support.
I was once told on the morning of your wedding you must try to switch from host to guest of honour, the team allowed us to be completely immersed in our day without worrying about a single thing so we were free to enjoy being happy and focused on us getting married.
The venue is stunning, and every tiny detail has been thoroughly thought through even down to the cottages perfectly set up for both the Groom, and Bride's parties to get ready.
If we could do it all again we would chose The Normans every time, there is not a single thing we would change about the day and feel so blessed to have our wedding day memories there.

The Normans were nothing short of outstanding! From the planning and setup to the wedding day itself, everything was seamless and perfectly in place. Sharon and Dave were incredibly helpful, always on hand bother Friday and Saturday for anything we needed. We had a winter wedding and wanted to ensure there was enough comfortable space for our guests in case the inevitable British weather didn’t pull through. The Normans was the one venue that catered for all possibilities, providing a cozy yet spacious setting that felt just right, no matter the weather.

It’s fair to say we can’t quite put into words just how amazing our day was—it was everything we imagined and so much more! The entire experience was made effortless thanks to the endless support and expertise of The Normans team. They had an answer for just about everything, making the whole process stress-free and enjoyable.

Myself and my husband got married at The Normans back in October. From start to finish our day was AMAZING and we felt so looked after! Right from the initial booking 2 years ago, Oliver and Sharon could not do enough to ensure our day went smoothly and were fantastic on the day to calm our nerves. I would highly recommend booking The Normans, it’s definitely a decision you would not regret. The venue itself is stunning and the new bar is beautiful. Also, the fact that you get the venue from the afternoon before the wedding to the morning after makes it feel much more personal. We really wish we could do it all again!

Where do I even begin. This venue is absolutely phenomenal. Our wedding was beyond perfect, better than I could have ever imagined. The venue itself is beautiful each section of the venue flows so perfectly which allows for the day to run so seamlessly. The food was impeccable we had so many comments as to how utterly delicious it was. But what makes this venue stand out the most is the most incredible staff. Oliver was incredibly I cannot find the words. Organisation to the highest degree both pre and post wedding saving us so much stress. So incredibly attentive and made it his mission to ensure the day ran smoothly. The Normans has an incredibly personal touch that I don't quite think you would be able to find elsewhere. Everyone that came said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to.

Our dream venue, the most romantic and beautiful venue we have ever seen. From the moment we stepped foot in The Normans the lovely staff we met were so welcoming, professional and seemed to genuinely care about our day being exactly what we dreamed of. We felt like we were family being welcomed into a place we know is super personal and special to the staff, Sharon, Ollie and David (sorry we never met Laura but know you will have been helping behind the scenes) You went above and beyond and made us feel welcome continuously. Everything had a personal touch and we will never forget all your help and support. Everyone told us how stressful wedding planning is, but that wasn't our experience AT ALL! And we credit that to the team at the normans. We wish we could have our day all over again. We wouldn't change a thing ❤️

The Normans by far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we viewed the venue we knew it was the one. That fairy light back drop is breathtaking. The quality of each room is just amazing. Oliver and Sharon were super helpful from start to finish, they were so accommodating making sure we had the best day ever. So many of our Guests complimented the venue, advising it was one of the best they’d been to. They made sure our day ran smoothly and can’t thank them enough.
Hog and Apple (the caterers) also exceeded our expectations. The food was just incredible and our Guests loved it!

Where do I even start when explaining how amazing The Normans is. From our very first visit a couple of years ago, we knew this was the venue for us - it was cosy, romantic and intimate. On the actual wedding weekend, Oliver, Sharon and Dave were so helpful and kind, making sure everything was exactly how we wanted it and we didn’t feel at all rushed when setting up on the Friday. On the day of the wedding, Oliver was amazing from start to finish. He made the day run so smooth and reassured and guided us throughout the day. The venue itself is so beautiful and we had the most perfect Christmas/winter wedding. Our guests were asking us all night where we found the venue and saying how amazing it is. I know it’s cliche but it was genuinely the best day of our lives and a lot of that is down to The Normans and Hog&Apple (the caterers). I only wish we could do it all again.

We got married at The Normans last weekend and to say it was the best day of our lives would be an understatement!

Oliver, Sharon and the team could not have been more helpful in the build up and ran the day seamlessly. Special shout out to Andrew & Amanda, who drove my Dad and I to the venue in one of Andrew’s vintage cars - a journey we will never forget.

As one of the last couples to get married in our friendship group, we’ve been told by countless people that it’s one of the best wedding they have ever been to! I used lots of suppliers recommend on The Normans list and I could not fault them.

From the moment we got engaged, there was only one venue we looked at and went to view for our special day, and that was The Normans. From the initial contact with Sharon, to the food tasting, to then finally having our wedding day, as a venue, The Normans just blew everything out the park. It was just how we imagined it would be and every space was made to feel personal to us. A huge thank you to Sharon and Dave who on the day before, the day of and day the after the wedding went above and beyond to ensure we were happy throughout. We couldn’t recommend them enough to anyone else looking for a venue in Yorkshire to have their wedding. Now putting my bridal hat back on and thinking about what I would want to read in a review here we go:

The Normans was the first venue we viewed when looking for our wedding and nothing else compared! We knew from the first visit it was the one for us.

From the start we had excellent email communication organising a viewing and we were shown round by the amazing Oliver who answered all of our questions and made us feel so secure in booking his venue, he was very warm, welcoming, he made us feel looked after and like no question was too silly and that continued throughout our experience!

The joy of The Normans is everybody cares so much. Oliver, Sharon, and Dave are a dream team! Emails always answered quickly, extra visits easily organised, phone numbers given to us the day before incase of emergency, texts after the big day to make sure we had an amazing time! The level of care they provide for you is unbelievable everything is checked, double checked, and the day flowed so easily with Sharon coordinating!

We loved the venue as it was stunning as is and it's comfy country vibes whilst remaining modern was just the style we wanted. We could have left it completely empty and it would have looked amazing, but we decided to decorate and do the flowers all ourselves this was supported by The Normans whole heartedly providing us with water, plenty of space to set up, Dave was amazing helping us put things on walls and helping us tidy up throughout the day.

A excellent part of The Normans is no hidden costs! Having seen other venues it's was only when you went into the fine print or asked certain questions in certain ways you saw what was actually included. At The Normans there is no sneaky oh you need to pay extra for chairs, lights, pay per candle lit ect. What you see is what you get and they are very open about any additional costs for extras. Their website is incredible for details, invoices easy to read, It was this openness and honestly that made us love them even more as it made planning and budgeting so much easier.

It is a very versatile venue with plenty of space, and if your worried about wet weather they always have a plan and will check the met office reports coming in for you! We had rain on our wedding day and it didn't affect the atmosphere or the day at all! There is plenty of space for guests around all the buildings and it's comfy, cosy, and accessible for all! The out buildings are great for photos as well and the fields and lanes around the venue lend themselves to lovely romantic shots, so it's great for lots of versatile shots!

I have probably written far too much but I cannot put into words how amazing a place this is, and the people who run it are what really makes it shine. I cannot thank The Normans team enough for making our day perfect and for making the whole day run so smoothly. It was the best most joyful and amazing day of our lives and they helped make it happen!

We got married on 22nd June 2024 at the Norman’s and the day was utterly perfect.
The team at the Norman’s (we had Oliver) went above and beyond. Our guests still talk about how amazing Oliver was for every single one of us from the bride and groom to the guests. One example of the tiniest thing that Oliver did for one of our guests was to get the presents off the guests so they didn’t have it at the ceremony. Another example where Oliver made our day just so simple, was by gathering all our decorations, gifts and cards in one area for us to collect in the morning. Also when we were having our champagne shots, Oliver swapped our glasses to some fancy ones for the shoot, the thought of everything!
The venue is STUNNING, the team are PHENOMENAL, the accommodation on site was PRISTINE! Everything was perfect if we were to get married again hands down it would be at the Norman’s. We did not look at any other venue we knew this was the one.
Our guests could not believe how beautiful the venue was.

We knew as soon as we looked around the Normans that it would be the perfect wedding venue, and we weren’t wrong! Everything from the lead up to the wedding and the day itself ran perfectly thanks to Oliver, Sharon and the rest of the team. They are always quick to respond and super helpful, and we even had compliments from our suppliers about how organised they are. We had so many compliments from our guests on the day about how stunning the venue is and how smooth the wedding ran, especially given the constant changes in weather during the day. Even though it rained during our June wedding, Oliver was amazing on the day and made sure this didn’t have any impact on the day. The venue itself is beautiful, and the food from Hog and Apple was incredible. We could not recommend the Normans enough, thank you for giving us the perfect day!

An amazing day from start to finish at such a magical venue. We have had so many compliments from guests on the venue and the food from H&A and have commented on how it has been one of the best weddings they’ve been to.

Sharon who ran the day was simply amazing and neither myself or my husband had to worry about a thing. She is so lovely and approachable, she felt like part of the family!

All the staff at The Normans were incredible. Simply couldn’t fault any of it.
