My husband and I got married at The Normans in December 2025 and we cannot recommend it enough as a venue.

We actually booked The Normans based on just my husband's viewing (I didn't see it until months later as we were living abroad), because he was so certain it was the perfect place. And he was right!

Oliver, Sharon and the whole Normans team are absolute pros at making sure everything runs smoothly (both in the run up and on the Big Day), and it was clear they really cared about each detail to make our wedding (and I suspect every single wedding they do) special. We didn't worry about a thing on the day because Sharon was masterfully managing everything for us.

The venue itself was beautiful - especially in the winter as the Christmas trees and lights everywhere made it utterly magical. But beyond that, one of the things we loved most about The Normans is that, because it is specifically a wedding venue, every single detail is considered for that purpose - from the wall of fairy lights in the Ceremony Barn, to the cottages on site (one with a getting ready room, as well as fancy hooks to hang your dress!), to how Oliver and Sharon manage the "flow" of the day with guests moving from space to space. The whole experience is incredibly intentional and well thought out.

Hog and Apple (the designated caterer) are also incredible and multiple guests said it was the best food they have ever eaten at a wedding.

The Norman’s was the perfect venue! Oliver and Sharon were fantastic from start to finish - they were always extremely welcoming and happy to accommodate our requests. Oliver did a great job on the day of organising/ keeping things on time, calming our nerves before the big moments and being a hype-man when needed!

The venue itself is perfect! Couldn’t imagine getting married at a different venue. The barn was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and the grain shed was the perfect setting for the wedding breakfast/ party afterward. When we walked in the day before to set up, we thought that the venue looked so nice that it didn’t even need any additional decorations.

Our wedding day couldn’t have gone much better and that’s in no small part to The Norman’s and Oliver/Sharon, so we are extremely appreciative and couldn’t recommend them any more!!

The wedding venue of our dreams! We had the absolute best day of our lives at The Normans. The stunning country surroundings and the breath-taking ceremony and reception barns - not to mention the cosy fireplaces and quiet nooks - are all part of what makes this place so special. Ideal for weddings of any seasons (ours was a gloomy autumn day!), this place is perfect dressed up or kept as is. So many of our guests said it was the best wedding venue they’d ever been to, especially when the double doors were thrown open to the grain shed and they were met with the enormous reception barn (which they’d had no idea even existed). We partied all night on the dance floor with our fab band and felt that we were properly looked after by both the smooth-running of the venue and the friendly staff from start to finish. The food from caterer partner The Hog & Apple made the day even more special, and we felt that no ask was too much by anyone at The Normans or H&A. Thank you for making our day unforgettable.

We don’t even know where to begin in describing how perfect our wedding experience was at this venue. From the very first visit, we knew it was something special — but the level of care, professionalism, and warmth we received from Sharon, Oliver, and the entire team completely exceeded anything we could have imagined.

Every step of the planning process was made so much easier thanks to the team's incredible attention to detail and their calm, reassuring presence. They were always ready with advice, answers, and solutions, and nothing was ever too much trouble. We genuinely felt looked after from day one, and that kind of support makes such a difference when planning a wedding (which I found can be quite stressful!). Any questions and queries were answered quickly and in detail that it took a lot of stress off the planning process.

The day before and on the day itself, Sharon and the whole team were absolute legends. They worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly, and they did it with such kindness, confidence, and professionalism. We didn’t have to worry about a single thing — they had it all completely under control, which allowed us to relax and truly enjoy every moment.

Our guests were blown away by how beautiful the venue was, how seamless the day felt, and how friendly and welcoming every member of staff was. So many people commented on how well the day flowed, and that’s entirely down to the team’s hard work, organisation, and genuine dedication to making the day perfect - so many people said it was the best wedding they had ever been to.

The venue itself is breathtaking — from the stunning ceremony space with the fairy lights, to the gorgeous reception areas and the incredible photo opportunities everywhere you look. But what truly sets this place apart is the people. Sharon, Oliver, and the entire team go above and beyond in every possible way. It felt like they put their hearts into what they do and that our wedding was the only one that mattered at the time and it shows. I am sure every single couple feel the exact same as this.

We will forever be grateful for the unforgettable memories they helped us create. Choosing this venue was one of the best decisions we made, and we would recommend it to absolutely anyone looking for a wedding day that feels magical, effortless, and genuinely cared for. Thank you all so much — our day wouldn’t have been the same without you and we are beyond upset we can't redo the day again, but hopefully we will be back to visit at some point in the near future.

The Normans was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From the moment we first visited, we were given a great welcome and could tell how professional and well-organised the team were.

Their communication throughout the planning process was exceptional - every question was answered quickly and clearly, giving us complete confidence in the run-up to the day.

The venue itself is stunning and created such an incredible atmosphere; we’ve had so many comments from guests saying how amazing it was. The food, provided by Hog & Apple, was tremendous - multiple guests told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had.

On the day, everything ran seamlessly thanks to Oliver, who managed the guests and all the vendors perfectly, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy ourselves.

Overall, a highly (highly!) recommended venue for anyone considering The Normans - they exceeded every expectation and made the day truly special.

My husband and I fell in love with this place when we first saw it in the middle of a thunderstorm and knew straight away this was where we were getting married! Every room in this venue was beautifully set up and we knew this was us when we saw the lights and exposed brick in the ceremony room to the grain bags in the stables for guests to relax. We had many visits with varying family members and attended a Hog and Apple food tasting which was AMAZING! Sharon was a superstar on the day and was on hand to sort out the music, calm down the groom before the vows and make sure the day went perfectly. All the guests commented on how amazing the venue was and how they wished they had got married there or would love to get married there! The Hog and Apple put on some amazing food which guests have enjoyed telling me was delicious and the best food they have tasted which we would have to agree, The Hog and Apple staff were amazing and we would not have changed a single thing!

We knew that the Normans was the venue for us as soon as we viewed it for the first time and the service that we received right from the start was outstanding. A huge shout out to Sharon who is an absolute credit to the Normans. Nothing was too much trouble at any time (Sharon even helped us to find a babysitter for the night before the wedding). The venue is just stunning and, while we were lucky to have great weather, we would not have been disappointed if we weren’t so lucky as the inside space is perfect for a rainy day. On the day, I had no worries at all about how the day would run because of the trust that had been built up on the run up to the wedding. And the day was perfect. Sharon was there, but not there, as she made things happen and move along to time without us even noticing. Our day was perfect and all of our guests were really impressed by the venue. Wow, what a place. This venue has it all, stunning ceremony room, cow stalls full of character, a fantastic bar area and wedding breakfast room but most importantly phenomenal staff. Oliver and Sharon really are godsend’s and make the place what it is, they have thought of everything, are beyond friendly and want to ensure your day is perfect, which ours was. I cannot recommend this place enough, we will certainly be back at the earliest opportunity. The catering with Hog & Apple is out of this world, all of our guests commented on how tasty it was and the staff can’t do enough for you.

I honestly can’t praise The Normans highly enough - not only is it the most stunning venue but the staff are absolutely fantastic! Oliver was absolutely superhuman on our wedding day and took so much stress off my husband and I. Nothing was too much trouble, he took care of literally everything and ensured the day ran smoothly. He honestly was absolutely fantastic. The food from Hog and Apple was also insane - we’ve had so many comments about how it was the best wedding food our guests have ever had, and how amazing the venue was. Can honestly recommend so highly. The team are incredible, the venue stunning, the food incredible. Not a single bad word to say. Thank you Oliver and Team for being amazing.

Oliver and Sharon were amazing from our initial viewing of the Normans to our wedding day. No requests went unanswered and they made us and our guests feel so calm and they welcomed everyone like they were their own friends and family.
The venue itself is like something out of a fairy tale and the photo's just don't do it justice. The fairy lights that are around the venue just add to it's charm and the ceremony barn is like something out of a Harry Potter book....magical! So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and how well the day ran. This was down to Olivers top notch organising and herding the guests to where they needed to be to keep everything on time!
The food which is done via the hog and apple was outstanding and our guests are still raving about this weeks later!
Our day could not have been anymore perfect and I highly recommend The Norman's to anyone who is wanting to make their wedding day unforgettable.

We got married here this July and it was the most incredible experience from start to finish. We first visited in May the previous year and met Oliver who was so friendly and didn’t pressure us in any way. We fell in love with the venue immediately, how there was so much space and different areas for the different parts of the day, yet it was all compact so it felt like guests were nearby even if they were spread across the different spaces. Throughout our engagement, we visited several times so that we could measure things and ask questions and Oliver and Sharon were always happy to help. They also replied to all emails very quickly.

The day before we wedding, Sharon and David helped us with the setting up and we’re so calm and knowledgeable. Sharon clearly spoke us through how the day would run so we didn’t have any worries or surprises on the day. On the day, Sharon was around to help any suppliers and guests and everything went so smoothly! The caterers, Hog & Apple were also incredible and we have received so many compliments about the beautiful venue and delicious food.

The main room where we had our meal and the dancing was my favourite area due to the massive amount of fairy lights, every photo I look at reminds me how beautiful it was! I wish I could relive the day over and over and would highly recommend The Normans to everyone.

The day after the wedding, we had until 11am to clear all of our things out but Sharon and the team and kindly helped by taking everything down and put it all in one pile so it was very quick and easy.

From our first viewing/walk around with Sharon, we decided that The Normans would be the perfect venue to celebrate our special day - we did view others but always found ourselves comparing back to this wonderful venue and how the others don't come close.

The setting was simply wonderful, providing a relaxed and rustic atmosphere for our guests who both on the day and since, have made many compliments of The Normans and the staff. Our singer (Charlotte Mary), DJ (Night Owls) and enteratinment (Games of York) were all organised and set up seamlessly, thanks to our simply amazing co-ordinator, Sharon (and not forgetting the equally as lovely, Dave!). Our special day flowed beautifully and problem-free, from getting reading in the bridal cottage to dancing the night away with our loved ones!

Communication was always excellent from both Oliver and Sharon - any questions we had we answered almost the same day, if not within a few hours. They always had the answer and it was never a problem how many questions we felt that we were throwing their way!

We can't forget to thank the staff at the caterers for this venue: Hog and Apple. Your staff for both food and on the bars are simply a credit to the company and each person also helped to make our day memorable. They were fun, happy and it was a pleasure to have them with us on our big day!

We would highly recommend The Normans and couldn't speak any more highly of them. Simply wonderful!

The Norman’s is the most beautiful setting for a wedding. The staff are amazing and our wedding day flowed without any issue! We had so many compliments on the venue and our guests had a wonderful day, some saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Sharon and Oliver couldn’t have been more helpful over the 2 years we were planning our wedding. They responded quickly to all my emails and questions and eased any anxieties that I had. The hog & apple staff were also amazing and super helpful throughout the process! We had so many compliments on the food. Thank you to all the staff for making our wedding so perfect. We wish we could relive it!

From the moment we stepped foot into The Norman’s, we knew it was the one — and it completely stole our hearts. It’s genuinely hard to put into words just how magical this place is.

The setting is stunning, with a perfect blend of rustic charm and elegant touches. The twinkly lights and candles created the most romantic, intimate atmosphere. Every little detail, from the soft glow in the ceremony room to the beautiful courtyard area, was simply breathtaking. The courtyard itself was such a bonus.

All of the team, Oliver, Sharon, and the entire Hog and Apple crew were phenomenal. From start to finish, they made everything feel effortless. Their passion and warmth shone through in every interaction. Oliver and Sharon went above and beyond to make us feel supported, understood, and truly special. And the food — wow! The Hog and Apple team delivered the most delicious, beautifully presented food that had all of our guests raving.

We feel so lucky to have had our wedding here and couldn’t recommend it more highly.
