Honestly, I cannot find a fault. We booked the Moat around 2 years before our wedding date, booked from a Wedding Showcase. Sat down with Amanda and spoke through what we wanted, paid the deposit and walked out with huge smiles on our face.

When I tell you that smile still hasn't stopped.

We got assigned Aimee for our wedding and oh my gosh she is just amazing. Constant check ins, made us feel sure in our decisions and if we needed too face to face meetings. She truly is such a lovely person and really made this whole experience a lot less stressful.

We got reminders when we needed to pay, had a food trial & exclusive evening events where we could take our parents so they can see the venue.

On the day I stayed in the room the night before (this is dependant on if there is a wedding the day before/events etc, you'll find out 3 months before the wedding) where I stayed with my mum and 2 bridesmaids. We went for a meal in the restaurant the night before with my dad, brother and our little dog (who always loves coming with us) where we really enjoyed ourselves! Then back to the room to start wedding prep! The rooms are just gorgeous, the door that opens through was perfect. It was the perfect get ready spot, everyone felt comfortable and cared for. We had yoghurt, fruit and granola in the fridge ready for the morning, water and orange juice too. Which is a nice touch.

Aimee came in and checked on us around every hour and a half/two hours to make sure we had everything we needed. She is just a natural at this kind of stuff, coming in & having a little dance with us to help calm nerves. She helped with the first look and made sure the photographer got the perfect angles!

Then the wedding time came, all the guests went into the ceremony room, my bridesmaids & myself in the tap room ready to walk down the isle. A quick pep talk from the staff & Aimee and off we went. Music was timed perfect, my dress was fluffed before I walked down which I didn't even think of doing & we got married!

After the ceremony, we went back up to the tap room & got our first drinks as a married couple handed to us. Which were just perfect, they were exactly what we needed. Our guests were so happy with the service of the bar staff who seemed to just love their jobs!

After our drinks reception we went back down to the ceremony room for our wedding breakfast which was beautifully laid out by the team there, the food was served promptly. I cannot fault anything with the service, the food was delicious, Miles was always around with bottles of wine to top up ensured everyone always had a drink, served with a huge smile! Speeches came & the microphone came out, even that was perfect - we had a little fault with one of them but was seamlessly swapped over for a new mic!

Once food was done it was dancing time, the in house DJ they have Carl is also Amazing! Made sure we had music played that we wanted, but when I tell you our dance floor was NEVER empty - I mean it!

We danced our hearts out, had fun and shared love with the entire room.

Once it was all over, we went back to our rooms for the night. Then up for breakfast with our guests the next morning, which was also, amazing.

I think the one thing you have to take out of this review is that I genuinely cannot find any faults, it was the perfect day. From the staff, to the venue, to the food, every single little thing was perfect.

We had our wedding at The Moat in February, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The entire planning process was incredibly smooth and stress free.

The accommodation was spotless and offered the perfect space to get ready. The Barn and Tap Room are truly stunning, such beautiful spaces that created the most gorgeous backdrop for our photos.

We had a completely 100% gluten-free wedding, and WOW, the food exceeded all expectations! Every guest was raving about it. The quality, taste, portion sizes, and service were all exceptional. We’ll definitely be back just for the food!

The staff were absolutely brilliant, so friendly, professional, and attentive throughout the day. You helped make our day truly unforgettable.

Absolutely perfect in every way! We honestly can’t say thank you enough. We got married at the end of November, and from start to finish our entire wedding experience was nothing short of amazing. The venue itself is stunning and provided the most cosy, beautiful setting for our Twilight wedding.

The team at The Moat were incredible and so accommodating throughout the whole journey. Every single member of staff went above and beyond to make sure we, and all of our guests, felt truly looked after.

Aimie, our wedding planner, was fantastic. Her attention to detail was exceptional, and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Ellie, Myles, and Chris were the dream team — they made us and our guests feel so welcome, kept the drinks flowing, and ensured everyone knew exactly what was happening throughout the day.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and luxurious. The staff were happy, professional, and friendly. The food by Laura was absolutely to die for, and Carl’s music was AMAZING — he completely set the vibe for the evening. To top it all off, the Barn and Tap Room are simply beautiful.

We truly had the best day and wish we could do it all over again. We cannot recommend this beautiful venue highly enough — the staff at The Moat and the wedding team are what make it so special.

It really was a day to remember, and we are forever grateful.

Amazing venue. All the staff were absolutely incredible and absolute pros at what they do. They took our vision (from very minimal photos we provided) and made it happen seamlessly. They allowed whatever adjustments we wanted for example let us add a scotch egg to the starters which wasn’t on the list! They made us feel so relaxed and nothing felt like too much of an ask. If any issues happened we wouldn’t haven’t known about it as they would have just dealt with it. The food was absolutely incredible and the accommodation clean and modern. Could not recommend this venue and the team enough!

When our search for a wedding venue began we had looked at a few venues prior to going to the Moat, as soon as we attended our consultation appointment we both fell in love with the room and how warm and cozy it felt.
The booking process from start to finish was straightforward and communication was good and we felt confident that any questions we asked were always addressed.

Down to the big day, our wedding planner was Aimie, and wow what can we say, she was simply AMAZING. The organisation was just incredible, she was there every step of the way, even helping to tie up bows and flower corsages. She did not stop from first thing on the morning until late at night, even our guests commented how good she was, she is a true credit to your team.
We visit the Moat often for lunch or dinner so we knew the food would be good, what we hadn’t expected was how fantastic the service would be with silver glove service. Months later our guests are still praising it all.

I viewed the Moat as a wedding venue and instantly fell in love with the barn / function room and rooms to sleep bridal party. The venue is beautiful and has everything you need.
However the main reason you should have your wedding at the Moat is because of Aimee. Aimee was our wedding coordinator and we couldn’t have asked for better, she is funny, kind, caring, thoughtful and on the ball. She went above and beyond to make sure, not only us as bride and groom, but every single one of our guests was happy. The set up she created for our cake table and guest book area was amazing, more than I ever could have dreamt of. As the bride having to hand over the control to someone else made me anxious but Aimee was reassuring and exceeded my expectations by miles, she done everything better than I ever imagined. She is amazing and a credit to the Moat. If you want a smooth organised beautiful amazing wedding day have it at the Moat!

This venue was perfect for what we wanted a relaxed feel about it for all friends and family to enjoy and feel comfortable.

Wow Wow Wow!!!! The Moat was everything we wanted and more!!! I don’t even know where to start we had the most perfect day! Myself and my bridesmaids stayed the night before in the most stunning rooms and were met in the morning with some much needed breakfast! Aimie was in and out checking we had everything we needed whilst ensuring the venue was set up exactly how we wanted - the food was amazing and everyone of our guests complemented it, we were so surprised on the day to also find we had exclusive hire of the garden included which was perfect in the stunning weather!!! The staff from start to finish were amazing! The day ran so smoothly! Aimie was just amazing with the run up to the wedding and on the day we cannot thank her enough!!!! If we could give more than 5 stars we definitely would! Thank you all so much again!!!!

We are extremely happy we chose The Moat Barn and Taproom as the venue for our wedding. We went with the rustic theme and were not disappointed. The wedding ceremony arrangements felt intimate and magical!

The service provided by the wedding team from initial planning through to our wedding day was superb.

On the day, the wedding coordinator had such amazing drive and enthusiasm, supported by a great team, that made our day flow seamlessly through to the end.

It was a very hot day so our guests enjoyed drinks and canapés in the garden. The quality of food at the wedding breakfast and service was excellent.

The Taproom for the evening reception is a good size as we had a band play as well as the resident DJ.

After our special day, it was wonderful to stay in the Bridal suite at the venue.

What an amazing day! We had a twilight wedding at The Moat & it was amazing from start to end. Our events planner Aimie, was absolutely amazing, I did not have to worry about a thing when Aimie was around & I trusted her with everything wedding related. She was friendly, professional & just a super star, she really helped make our day 10/10!! Leaving a pizza in our room topped it off haha!

The venue itself is so beautiful, we got so many compliments! We also booked all 6 rooms at the venue & they were so clean, tidy & modern. The DJ was also 10/10. Food was also unreal, as well as the breakfast in the morning.

Booking was so simple & communication was great the whole time, I cannot recommend getting married anywhere better than at The Moat.

Wedding 26/04/25. We cannot thank the Moat enough for giving us such an AMAZING day! It was just superb, everything was brilliant & all of our guests commented on how beautiful it is as a venue. Having been let down by a previous venue, when we had our initial meeting with Amanda, we knew we had found the right one! We loved how you have the contrast of the more modern taproom which then opens up in to the beautiful barn, taking all guests by surprise! We were lucky enough to have good weather which meant we could enjoy the garden as well and the outdoor bar. It has such a lovely warm feel about it, the venue itself but all of the staff as well. Everything felt relaxed which helped us both feel at ease with all the planning and then on the day. We have to give a big thank you to Aimie who was assigned as our events planner, she was just brilliant - everything ran like clockwork and we didn't have to worry about a thing.
The food was so good! We opted for a family style meal as we wanted to create a more relaxed atmosphere, it was perfect. The wine, the fizz, the welcome drinks & canapes - just wow!
Our families all stayed for 2 nights, the accommodation is excellent and the bridal suite is massive - you can open up through to the adjoining room making this the perfect place for any bride (or groom) to get ready. The continental breakfast is also really good!
The cherry on the cake is that we could also bring our dog, Bruce, which meant a lot. If you are planning on getting married, we cannot recommend the Moat enough!

We were also thrilled with how seamlessly additional venders like the photo booth and casino tables were incorporated into the day. The team handled everything with ease, making sure that the extra elements didn’t disrupt the flow of events but enhanced them.

On top of all of this, the on-site accommodation was perfect, comfortable, convenient, and easily accessible. The team even went above and beyond by packing everything up for us after the wedding, so we could easily collect our things the next day. It’s the thoughtful touches like this that truly set The Moat apart.

The care, kindness, and dedication we experienced from the team made us feel like we were their top priority. A month later, our guests are still raving about how incredible the day was, and it’s clear that none of it would have been possible without Aimie and the amazing team at The Moat.

The Moat was the first wedding venue we went to look at and we knew immediately it was the one for us!
The barn is beautiful, rustic and the fairly lights and hops make it feel cosy and welcoming.
The team were incredible at organising everything including food, music, order of the day etc. The food was SO YUMMY and they went out of their way to cater for me being coeliac, and nut/lactose allergies for our guests. They even left a gluten free pizza and some of our wedding cake by our bed for after the party when we went back to our room!
We stayed in the on site hotel rooms the night before and the night of the wedding which are also beautiful- newly decorated and modern, ideal for the wedding party getting ready together with lovely big mirrors and even a mannequin for the dress.
We were SO chilled out the whole weekend- we had dinner and drinks in the pub the day/night before and then continental breakfast in our rooms whilst we got ready.
I honestly could not fault anything at all.
Aimie was an absolute legend throughout and put all our worries aside and ran with all the ideas we wanted. Zoe then took over on the day and despite being very pregnant ensured everything went perfectly!
We had the most amazing day and I know 2 of the friends that came have already recommended the venue for family friends looking for a wedding venue.
So many of our guests have been commenting on how beautiful the barn is.
