Nestled in the charming village of Aynho on the Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire border, The Great Barn is a beautifully rustic wedding venue surrounded by shimmering lakes, ancient woodland, and rolling countryside. Set within 250 acres of picturesque farmland, the venue offers an idyllic setting for couples seeking a romantic celebration immersed in nature, with breathtaking photo opportunities at every turn.
Facilities and Capacity
Steeped in character, The Great Barn's collection of lovingly restored 18th-century barns provides a stunning backdrop for every stage of your wedding day. Combining rustic charm with modern comfort, the barns feature soaring ceilings, exposed stone walls, impressive timber beams, and large windows that fill the spaces with natural light throughout the seasons.
Exchange your vows in the elegant Cart Shed, a wonderfully atmospheric space for your ceremony. Afterwards, guests can move through to Croughton Barn for a memorable wedding breakfast, accommodating up to 120 guests in a warm and inviting setting.
For evening celebrations, Aynho Barn offers a relaxed and sociable atmosphere, complete with a welcoming bar area, comfortable seating, and plenty of space for dancing. The venue can host up to 175 evening guests, creating the perfect environment for a lively celebration.
The Great Barn also features a luxurious Dressing Room, designed to accommodate up to 10 people, providing a calm and stylish space for the wedding party to prepare for the day ahead.
Outside, the secluded Patio Garden and spacious terrace offer wonderful opportunities to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings. Guests can gather around the fire pit, enjoy lawn games, or simply take in the peaceful countryside views.

Perfect day at the Great Barn
Our wedding at the Great Barn was perfect.
The venue was beautiful, the food was excellent, and everything ran perfectly. Vicky coordinated everything with a seamless confidence, and all of our interactions with the staff at the Great Barn were excellent. There was no doubt that the venue was perfect after our initial viewing. The bar and ceremony room were still being renovated at the time, but the team showed us renderings of the expectation and the team did a remarkable job delivering on that vision.
The Great Barn have been communicative on email where required and the planning meetings allowed us to ask all the questions we needed to. We were able to drop off things the night before and collect the day after, having stayed in the lovely cottages the night of the wedding.
Along with Hibiscus floral design, providing a wonderful suite of flowers and decorations, the venue was setup perfectly and it was magical to walk into on the day. Everything was completely in hand at all times, we as bride and groom could simply focus on enjoying the day. The team worked seamlessly together. When the registrars were stuck in bank holiday traffic, Vicky reassured us that they were on their way and it was all in hand. The team worked diligently to ensure all dietary needs were catered for. When the ceremony ended the team coordinated moving flowers from the ceremony room to enhance the other space for the day and it all looked perfect. When the bride needed help preparing her dress for the evening Vicky was on hand to help bustling a somewhat stubborn dress to ensure the bride could enjoy here evening.
Limoncello shots were a perfect addition to the speeches, and segued us into a wonderful meal. The lamb croquettes were the highlight for me, but it was all wonderful. We loved by the Rioja and Viognier as our wine choices.
Rather than indulging in an expensive cake, we elected to have an "Espresso Martini" moment, which Vicky and team fully supported and on the day the drinks were ready on time, per the schedule, without us having to think about it. When it was time for evening food - it was abundant and delicious. Thankfully the weather held and we enjoyed time on the outdoor terrace.
Combined with Sam Bennett photography, Hibiscus Floral design, Signed by Charlotte, Signature Moments, and the registrars, our day was perfect.

Perfect day
We got married here over the summer and the day was just perfect. The pre wedding meetings we had with Grace allowed us to customise everything to create our perfect day. When choosing our venue we went with the great barn due to its idilic views and 3 indoor spaces and large outdoor space meant the guests had ample room and never felt on top of each other. We were very lucky with our weather but had it rained the indoor spaces were definitely big enough for everyone. The food was amazing, we went with the roast which meant the guests carved the meat at the table, this was a great touch and an ice breaker for guests sitting on tables where they didn’t know each other, it also created a lot of laughs with the chefs hat and aprons.
Grace was absolutely amazing, nothing was too much and she brought everything to life exactly how we had envisioned it. She also kept us on track with our timings for the day. She was very calm and exactly what was needed. Thanks to Grace and the team for truly making it the most perfect day.

A Great Venue!
We had our wedding here in July 2026, it was a fantastic venue and so many of our guests commented on the location. The staff were brilliant to work with all the way from our first viewing and always had our best interests in mind. The communication throughout the process was reassuring and helped us to plan a great day. The food was amazing, especially the lamb and we received many compliments from our guests on both the meat and vegan menus.
We would 100% recommend!
PS: Having air conditioning in the heatwave was a god send.

The perfect venue
The venue is beautiful as well as the land surrounding it. Our day ran so smoothly mainly down to the staff and Alice, the Wedding & Events Manager. They could not have done more for us and were all so friendly. I cannot thank them all enough for making our wedding day an absolute dream!

Best day of my life!
We had our wedding on Saturday and the day couldn’t have been more perfect. The venue is absolutely stunning and our guests couldn’t compliment it more. We had the pleasure of having Alice as our coordinator, and nothing was too much trouble. She executed our vision perfectly, respected our belongings, nothing was broken and she was so attentive to our family and friends, everyone knew what they were doing the whole day. The staff working on the day were equally amazing, very attentive and kind, particularly at the end of the evening with the dribs and drabs of our guests who were slightly over time. It couldn’t have been more perfect, 100% must choose venue!

The most stunning venue
We got married at The Great Barn in April 2026 over the Easter weekend and had the best day.
From the initial viewing, we knew it was the venue for us. It's such a beautiful setting and the venue itself is stunning so doesn't need much decoration! It's also dog friendly (up to the wedding breakfast part of the day) which was important to us.
Grace was our coordinator and has been great throughout the process. She was always very responsive to any questions we had, helped advise on the schedule for the day and was really helpful when sorting dietary requirements.
On the day, Grace and the rest of the Great Barn team ensured the day went smoothly and to plan. The food was all amazing throughout the day, including the sweet treat table, main meal (we had the duck, lamb and lemon tart which was all exceptional) and the evening pizza.
The venue itself meant the day flowed really nicely and so many of our guests have commented on what a lovely venue it was. We also had a wonderful stay at the cottages on site the night of the wedding.

Great venue for a perfect day
We had the best day at The Great Barn for our wedding March 2026! The Great Barn was the first venue we viewed and we knew immediately it was the one, the place has an amazing feel with just the right amount of tasteful decor to make the rooms feel full without too much extra but also enough to be able to personalise the space. We particularly loved the main room with the bar as it kept everyone together in the evening and ensured the dance floor remained full!
Alice was our wedding coordinator, she made sure everything went so smoothly and was a pleasure to have around on the day with her warmth and enthusiasm.
We would highly recommend The Great Barn to all couples, it was the perfect venue for us and the perfect day.

What a wedding!!
The Great Barn is absolutely beautiful and the perfect venue for a wedding. It hardly needs any decoration to look stunning, and the grounds are gorgeous - even in February the site looked naturally beautiful and had that classic Cotswold feel.
We had 86 guests all day, and the size of the venue was ideal (although the venue could easily accommodate more guests than this). Having the separate ceremony space made the moment of getting married feel so special. The layout of the wedding breakfast and bar room also worked perfectly as it allowed guests who didn't want to dance to chill out or use the photobooth. The bar room - complete with LED lights - became the ultimate dancefloor!
We were so fortunate to have Grace look after us. Her attention to detail is unmatched and she made the entire day feel seamless and calm. The rest of the staff were equally as fantastic, and the service was top tier.
As foodies, the quality of the meal was a huge highlight for us. We opted for the Feast Menu and it was exceptional. We had the charcuterie starter, the sirloin of beef main, and lemon meringue / crumble for dessert - we would definitely recommend!!
We've had so many comments from guests saying it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding.
We had the most joyful and perfect day. We cannot recommend The Great Barn and their expert planning team enough for delivering such a wonderful experience. Thank you!

Magical Autumn Day
I knew I wanted to get married at The Great Barn the second I walked in, I got goosebumps! It is such a stunning venue, perfectly suited to host our Autumnal wedding. The cosy, rustic vibe with twinkly lights brings all the magic you could want. On the day, Alice went above and beyond to support our needs and help our dreams come true, we couldn’t have done it without her and the rest of the team at The Great Barn. Best Day of our Lives
The team at the Great Barn were absolutely amazing. From day one, they made us feel so welcome and at home in the venue. Alice was our Wedding Manager and MC on the day and she did a brilliant job throughout. She was so lovely, warm and enthusiastic, responding to all of our questions and made sure everything went perfectly on the day. We cannot recommend this venue enough, all of our friends and family couldn't get over how beautiful it was and how good the food was. I have coeliac disease and the team went above and beyond to make sure I was catered for and didn't need to worry about a thing on the day. Thank you so much!

A perfect November Wedding!
Everything about this venue exceeded our expectations. The planning was seamless, and we always felt relaxed knowing we were in great hands. The setting was stunning and the food was exceptional, the roast option in particular was a huge hit! Grace was brilliant from the very beginning and on the day she and team were constantly ensuring everything flowed effortlessly. Thank you for such an amazing day! We would highly recommend this venue!!

An Amazing Day, Made Even More Amazing
Grace was Amazing, and everyone at the Great Barn was so friendly and helpful. Grace, who was managing our day, had everything sorted by 1030, which took all the stress off us and ensured any issues were sorted. It was such a special day for us, and for it to take place in such a wonderful setting as well made the day even more magical. We couldn't have done it without the support of Grace and the rest of the venue's amazing team. The food was also incredible, both for the wedding breakfast and the evening pizzas that followed.
