About

Located in Taynuilt, Argyll,

The Etive Estate is not simply a wedding venue - it is an entire private Highland world, created for couples who want something far beyond the traditional.

Set within 350 acres of breathtaking West Highland landscape in Taynuilt, Argyll, the estate offers a rare combination of complete seclusion, dramatic scenery, and total flexibility. Overlooking the still waters of Loch Etive and framed by the towering presence of Ben Cruachan, it delivers what many venues promise but very few can truly offer: uninterrupted, cinematic beauty in every direction, and the freedom to make the space entirely your own.

At the heart of the estate stands a magnificent 16-bedroom Edwardian Manor House, designed in 1908 by the renowned Scottish architect Sir Robert Lorimer. Rich in period detail and quietly commanding in its presence, the Manor House provides an elegant anchor to the estate - perfect for preparations, indoor celebrations, or simply soaking in the atmosphere with your closest people.

What truly defines The Etive Estate, however, is its philosophy. There are no rigid packages, no fixed formats, and no expectations placed upon you. Couples are not asked to fit into a template - instead, the estate becomes a blank canvas.

Ceremonies can be held outdoors in a variety of breathtaking locations: on the lawn by the sundial overlooking Loch Etive, within the estate’s private woodland for something more intimate and atmospheric, or beside the estate’s own private loch, surrounded by nature. Drinks receptions can unfold across expansive lawns with panoramic mountain views, while evenings can transform into anything from elegant dining experiences to relaxed woodland gatherings with fire pits, music, and starlit skies.

Equally, the estate is designed to be exceptional in all weathers. Scotland’s unpredictability is embraced, not feared. Beautiful indoor ceremony and reception spaces are available, including two large studio spaces that can be styled entirely to your vision, as well as refined interiors within the Manor House itself. Whether your day is bright and sunlit or wrapped in Highland mist, it will feel intentional, atmospheric, and complete.

One of the most unique aspects of The Etive Estate is its ability to turn a wedding into a full experience rather than a single day. The estate offers five separate houses for on-site accommodation, each thoughtfully positioned within the landscape and all complete with private hot tubs - many boasting what are widely considered to be some of the best hot tub views in the Highlands.

These houses provide generous, comfortable living spaces where guests can relax, gather, and enjoy the surroundings together. Rather than arriving and departing within hours, couples and their guests can stay for an extended period - transforming the celebration into a full wedding weekend or even a week-long retreat. Mornings overlooking the loch, long lunches, evenings in hot tubs under the stars - this is a setting that naturally encourages time, connection, and unforgettable moments.

Beyond the wedding itself, the estate offers a range of additional experiences that make each stay truly distinctive. Fishing is available on the private loch, home to wild brown trout, offering a peaceful and uniquely Highland pursuit for guests to enjoy. Country activities can also be incorporated into your stay, allowing you to curate a schedule that feels personal, immersive, and memorable for everyone attending.

The surrounding area adds further depth to the experience. The nearby village offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere with excellent local food spots, while direct rail links to Glasgow mean the estate remains accessible despite its sense of complete escape. It is a rare balance - remote, yet convenient; wild, yet comfortable.

As a newly launched wedding venue, The Etive Estate is currently offering exceptional introductory pricing for its first couples. This presents a unique opportunity to secure a venue of this scale, privacy, and beauty at a level that will not be available long-term.

Above all, what couples consistently remark upon is the feeling of the place. The scale, the stillness, the views, the sense of possibility - it is something that cannot be fully captured in words or images alone. It is a venue that reveals itself properly only when experienced in person.

Everything is possible here.
And every wedding held here is entirely its own.

Viewing is essential to fully appreciate the beauty of our lovely estate

The most incredible wedding experience we could have imagined

I don’t usually write reviews but I felt like I had to for this. We got married at The Etive Estate and it was just… unreal.

We went to view it not really knowing what to expect and the second we arrived we both just looked at each other like “this is it”. The views are ridiculous—photos don’t even come close. Looking out over the loch with the mountains behind it feels completely surreal, like you’ve somehow hired your own bit of the Highlands.

We had our ceremony outside by the sundial and it couldn’t have been more perfect. It felt really private and calm, not like a typical wedding venue at all. A few of our guests actually said it was the best setting they’ve ever seen for a wedding, which says a lot.

One of the best parts for us was being able to stay on site with everyone. The five houses meant all our close friends and family were there for the whole weekend, and the hot tubs got a lot of use (especially late at night with a few drinks!). It just made everything feel way more relaxed—no one rushing off, no taxis, no stress.

What we really liked as well was how flexible everything was. There wasn’t that feeling of being pushed into a schedule or told “you can’t do that”. We had drinks outside, wandered around the grounds, and just did things how we wanted. There are indoor spaces as well which was reassuring, but we got lucky with the weather.

A couple of the guests went fishing on the loch which they loved, and others just chilled out and enjoyed the views. It felt more like a weekend away with everyone than just a wedding day.

Tom and the team were great throughout—really easy to deal with and nothing ever felt like too much hassle.

Also worth saying, for what you actually get, the price is kind of mad. We feel very lucky we got in early.

If you’re thinking about it, just go and see it. You’ll get it straight away.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to make your big decisions easier.
