Country Wedding Venues in Argyll

We had the exclusive use of Knockderry from Friday to Sunday first weekend in May. The whole wedding was made a tremendous success by the setting of the hotel to the standard of accommodation and reception to the quality of the food. Above all , all of the staff were great lead by Beth, Murdo and Kerrie and made our wedding a most wonderful occasion

We had an absolutely amazing day at Ardkinglas on our wedding! It was the first venue we viewed and we fell in love with it right away - the views of the loch are absolutley stunning, and the surrounding flora and fauna is out of this world. I am from the local area so we used local suppliers Tents and Events for a marquee on the site, and made use of the Estate's dining room for the champagne reception. My bridesmaid's and I stayed in the 'Butlers Quarters' the night before - beautiful little cottage underneath the main house with it's own access - highly recommend! We also had use of one of the rooms inside on the morning of the wedding for hair and make up. Both Kelly the estate manager, and David, the owner, were incredibly helpful and accommodating in the run up - we had a lot of quirky requests and they were only too happy to accommodate. I'm getting a bit emotional even writing this review - it was just perfect!

We were lucky enough to get married in The Shore House and it was more than we could ever have hoped for. The owners, Billy and Liz felt like family by the end - nothing was ever too much trouble and their warm and generous spirits made every single person feel welcome and at home. They took care of EVERYTHING for us - and the planning process was a pleasure. Their attention to detail on the day was amazing, everything went without a hitch - and it was all down to them. The location is stunning - you will Not find a better lochside view in Scotland. Even in the rain, our photos look spectacular. The house itself is gorgeous too- the perfect mix of home comforts and luxury. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, beautifully decorated and the beds are super Comfy. Showers great too, and those views are just incredible. The one thing that the Shore house has that no other guest house does, is Billy and Liz. They are simply wonderful, kind, genuine hosts who have become dear friends. I cannot thank them enough for the most Special weekends of our lives. We will Be back as often as we can. Jen & Marc
