Located in Blandford Forum, in the North Dorset countryside, The Crown Hotel is a picturesque wedding venue that offers an array of elegant event spaces. Formerly a Georgian coaching inn, this historic property in England was fully refurbished in 2017. Here, you and your guests can enjoy scenic surroundings, luxurious accommodations, and superior services for your special day.
Facilities and Capacity
The Crown Hotel offers both indoor and outdoor event spaces, as well as a separate function area, to host all kinds of wedding occasions. Enjoy a relaxed engagement party in the pet-friendly Pantry or a sophisticated rehearsal dinner in the formal Dining Room. This venue boasts a separate function space, the Sealy Suite, that offers privacy for events held here. The Sealy Suite is licenced for civil ceremonies and can comfortably accommodate up to 150 guests. The room benefits from a private bar area, and access to the beautiful south-facing garden. Your entire occasion can be held within the Sealy Suite, beginning with your heartfelt ceremony held indoors or outdoors. Afterwards, your guests can enjoy a comfortable drinks reception with canapes surrounded by meticulously manicured greenery in our private walled garden. The venue’s experienced event team can then easily transition the suite to host your main reception event. Guests can drink, dine, and dance the night away surrounded by the elegant accents and historic charm found here. Additional event spaces include the bar and cosy common room found within the main hotel. The entire venue can be reserved for those that wish to have exclusive use of the property for their celebration. The hotel boasts 27 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, several of which are decorated in the Georgian style.

Our amazing wedding at The Crown
Laura was fabulous throughout as the wedding organiser, Vince was superb on the day and Gemma was so friendly and helpful when called upon.
The room looked amazing, the grounds were super clean and tidy and the rooms were fantastic as well. We had guests from abroad and they said the booking of the rooms was super easy and nearly a year in advance.
We'd thoroughly recommend.

Wonderful wedding venue and value for money
We also had around 10 rooms booked overnight for guests and again , our room was a really good size , very clean and comfortable and a delicious breakfast the following morning.

A day we will remember for a long time
From the very first time we met Laura, our wedding coordinator through to breakfast on the day after our reception the experience was perfect
The Sealy Suite looked stunning and the food both at the main reception and in the evening was excellent. We have had many comments to that effect, with one guest saying, for example, that Arancini was the best they had ever had. We both had the Lamb which was perfect.
We were glad that the weather was nice on the day which really allowed our guests to enjoy the walled garden to the full.
Robert did a good job of acting as MC and Laura was brilliant giving us great care and attention during all the preparations before the event, and also for being there on the day to help see that it all went off smoothy.
It will be a day we remember for a very long time!

The garden for the ceremony was absolutely stunning.
Lovely flow between the bar, main room and garden.
The main room was a really good size.
We had 11 tables and there was still plenty of space.
The buffet was out of this world, everyone is still talking about how good the food was! Honestly the best hot food buffet I’ve ever had in my life. They were able to cater for all allergies and preferences too which was another win.
The kids meals we opted for burgers and they again were delicious- I taste tested. I was expecting a standard kids meal- but they exceeded expectations, presented lovely with a real upper class twist on a standard burger.
Laura and events team were fabulous from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, the help on the day and with the lead up was truly amazing. They ensured the day ran smoothly, and were on hand all day.
Laura sorted a last minuet problem for me with less than 3 hours to the wedding, when i ran short on table runners. Sorted it for me so i didn’t have to stress about it on my wedding morning.
I also ran out of time finishing the room decorating and they packed away empty boxes and put any last bits into place.
Even the pack down was extremely helpful. They moved all our things to one place, boxed and stored the left over cake for us, removed all our decor which saved us a big job and lots of time the next morning.
I can’t recommend the crown enough. So glad we chose them for our wedding venue!

Fabulous Venue and Wonderful Team
On the day, it was completely stress free as Laura had everything under control. Perfect day in every way, and a stunning setting for a wedding. The Sealy Suite has its own walled garden which is large enough to have your group photos done in and lovely for an outdoor ceremony.
A daunting task made easy
Regular catchups by email, calls and face-to-face meetings meant that we were always updated as the date approached. We had many moving parts to consider and orchestrate; from a String Quartet in the Garden with welcome drinks and Canopés, then cutting the cake and speeches, followed by Secret Singing Waiters, a buffet, a Saxophonist, Bongo Dave, a photobooth, chocolate fountain and a great DJ. This is where Laura and Robert really came into their own. Robert did a fantastic job of announcing each part of the evening, from our arrival to speeches and everything else.
Managing their team of Lauren, Jess and Tabitha (all stars on the evening) meant that the evening flowed without interruption. With confidence in this team, we felt that we could simply enjoy the evening just like anyone else.
Do not hesitate to book your event at this venue.
We also loved staying at the Hotel, as did our guests.
