We cannot thank The Bay Tree Hotel and their Wedding & Events coordinator Laura enough for making our wedding day so incredibly special. From the very first meeting, their enthusiasm and communication was great. Laura kept us updated throughout the entire planning process, answering all our questions and guiding us through every decision with patience and professionalism.

We felt so special on our day, the staff were so attentive to myself and my toddler at breakfast before the ceremony and all throughout our stay and our visits to them beforehand. Laura's attention to detail was amazing. She had so many thoughtful touches that made the day even more memorable - from a glass of Prosecco she had ready for us after the ceremony through to picking out such fun Halloween-inspired sweets for our sweet table that our guests loved.

The venue is beautiful, we were lucky with sunshine in late October but there would be plenty of photo opportunities even if we couldn't make it outside. The day ran seamlessly, guests were guided where they needed to be and the hotel atmosphere was exactly what we had wanted for our day.

What really stood out to us was how fantastic the hotel and whole team were to work with - everyone we spoke to was helpful and kind. Laura was always approachable, calm, and genuinely happy to do anything she could to make our day perfect. Whether it was last-minute requests or adjustments, Laura handled everything with a smile.

As mother of the bride, I would not hesitate in recommending The Bay Tree for a wedding, particularly in winter, with its flagstone floors, roaring fires and Christmas decorations. The wedding package they offer with exclusive use of all their bedrooms is extremely competitive and makes you feel as if you are hosting a private, intimate house party. If you are looking for a historic, attractive and authentic venue in the heart of the Cotswolds, with excellent customer service, then The Bay Tree is ideal. Laura, the Wedding Coordinator is superb and you can add as many personal touches to your Reception as you wish. All the staff are totally delightful; friendly, efficient and always willing to go the extra mile, from Reception, to the waiting and bar staff, who end up feeling like extended family. The food, for the price, was excellent and my daughter married at nearby Shorthampton Church, just 6 miles away. Having our meal lit almost entirely by candles was magical on what turned into a wet, cold December afternoon - the perfect retreat!

We wanted a small wedding with our children and our dog in Burford a place we have visited a few times and loved.
The Bay Tree Hotel was perfect for our stay and our wedding ceremony in the Hawthorn Room was just perfect. The rooms are stunning and the hotel has a lovely atmosphere with log fires in most rooms.
Laura the wedding coordinator is the loveliest person to deal with, she made our day flow perfectly to meet our needs and contributed greatly to making it a special day we will cherish forever.

We held our Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the Bay Tree Hotel on a Thursday in late August.
Wow, what a venue! Beautiful spaces, elegant and classy but great value compared to many we looked at. The hotel is beautiful inside and out. The food was excellent; we choose the Beef - yum! The staff were exceptional, they really seemed to enjoy making our day so special. The guest rooms were all lovely and the other rooms are gorgeous, especially once decorate for our event. We didn’t need to go mad on flowers because there is already so much beauty in the rooms. A big thank you goes to Laura who is the wedding coordinator; from the start she made us feel like we were in capable hands, as shown by the final event. Every one of our guests said what a magical day and night it was. We wouldn’t change anything and couldn’t recommend the venue more highly!

From the very start of planning our day through to the end it was a seamless, relaxed and joyous experience and every staff member we encountered along the way at the Bay Tree provided impeccable customer service and care. You brought our vision to life and made our day so incredibly special.

We would especially like to acknowledge and thank Laura who guided us through the initial planning of the day before her leave. It was lovely working with her and it was a seamless handover when she went on leave. A huge thanks to Becky taking over the wedding co-ordination. Becky was so professional, reliable and attentive to details. She was also very friendly, open to our ideas and also offered helpful suggestions. We would also like to thank all the wonderful staff at the hotel who made our wedding and stay there such a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived two days before the wedding to the point of check out every staff member was friendly, professional and always willing to help where they could whether it be moving luggage or just making us a drink to enjoy! No request was too much for anyone and the hotel really does feel like a home away from home.

Overall we and our families and friends had the most wonderful stay at the hotel and the wedding was unforgettable. We would recommend the Bay Tree and the team to anyone looking to either stay or host an event in the Cotswolds. It is a beautiful venue and the events team is amazing.

We recently celebrated our wedding at the Baytree Hotel and it was a magical experience. As my hometown, Burford has always been a very special place and I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. The Baytree made all of my dreams a reality. The team ensured from the very start of our planning that every detail was catered for. The venue is absolutely stunning and all the staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring our day ran smoothly from start to finish. A special thank you to Laura and Becky for making our wedding day truly the best day of our lives!

The Bay Tree is a stunning place to hold a wedding and had long been a family favourite as a hotel and restaurant before we chose it for our wedding venue. As it is licensed, we were able to have both our ceremony and reception there, which made for a logistically easier day for everyone, as there was no need to travel between ceremony and reception venues. As the way they do it for weddings is as an exclusive hire, you can "sell" back the rooms to your guests and this then comes off your final bill and our guests told us they found it very convenient that we went for a venue which included accommodation. This also meant that we got to enjoy breakfast the next morning with those guests who had stayed over the night before, which was lovely.

We are very grateful to Laura and the rest of the staff at the Bay Tree who worked so hard to make our wedding such a wonderful, special and memorable day for everyone. We really appreciated their care and attention to detail, from Laura's help and guidance throughout the planning process, the room upgrade when we came to stay for our wedding menu tasting, to the little touches on the day itself, like greeting us with a glass of Pimms as we came out of our wedding ceremony and consulting with us to check how we wanted the cheese cake to be presented in the evening. Several of our family members commented afterwards on how smoothly the day ran overall and how impressed they were by the quality of the food and service that we received. They were also very accommodating about providing ramps for my disabled father, who uses a walker and struggles to climb stairs, which was greatly appreciated.

The only thing we would say is that there were a lot of things which were priced as extras which we would have expected to be included, and the communication around the pricing of some extras was not quite as transparent or consistent as we would have liked. The way that the rooms were deducted from the final bill was also quite confusing to get our heads around, and could have been explained more clearly. However, it all worked out fine in the end and ultimately we would not hesitate to recommend the Bay Tree as a wedding venue to others. We look forward to visiting in the future as husband and wife :)

Leading up to the day, nothing was too much trouble and any questions asked were answered quickly. On the day itself everything went so well and the place looked amazing. We fell in love with the Bay Tree Hotel as soon as we saw it and booked it for our wedding day. It exceeded our expectations, from the moment we arrived on the Friday all the staff where so welcoming and friendly we felt so relaxed to be at the bay tree for the weekend. our wedding day was everything we had dreamt of and this is all down to the staff.
We got married on the 22/06/24 and all our guests are still saying how much of a lovely venue it is and how good the food was everyone had so much fun we really wish we could do it all over again. We booked our wedding at the Bay Tree as the vibe we wanted was a big party in a country pub, and that's exactly what the venue delivered! It's a beautiful place in a stunning location with accommodation on-site and nearby which made everything really easy for our guests. Our ceremony was at the Catholic Church at the top of the hill which was only a 5 minute walk away so it was ideal.

Our day couldn't have gone smoother, and that's all down to the fantastic team at the Bay Tree who were so on top of everything. Particular thanks to Becky who knew what we needed before we even had to ask. She was so reassuring and allowed us to enjoy our day without any worries.
