Located in Shadwell, East London, St. George's Town Hall is a recently renovated historic building, perfect for weddings of all sizes. The team believes that everyone deserves to have their happily ever after.

Facilities and Capacity

St. George's Town Hall has six spaces that are amazing options for a stunning London ceremony.

The Happily Ever After Room

Our smallest room holding up to 10 people. It features a neon sign and a beautful floral backdrop for when you are signing your schedule- great for those all important photos.

The Hamlet Suite

This is the Happily Ever After Room opened up to sit 20 guests. The same modern, elegant atmosphere for more people to enjoy.

The Chesterfield Room

The Chesterfield Room features a large chesterfield sofa, floral flower arch, dramatic drapes and floral pew ends- also matched to the season. Holding up to 80 guests, this is a perfect option for those who want to have a larger wedding in a more traditional space.

The Fireplace Room

The Fireplace Room is centred around an historic fireplace decorated with a beautiful and dramatic floral arrangement- it will look great in all your photos and the perfect backdrop for guests to celebrate your love as you say your vows. This rooms seats 40.

The Tower Suite

The Tower Suite is the largest of our rooms, designed in the style of an old town hall, and is a fantastic place to host a grand occasion. It can accommodate up to 180 guests and is the Chesterfield and Fireplace Rooms combined.

The Garden Suite

On the ground floor overlooking St Georges Gardens, the garden suite can be used as a ceremony space, or hired after your ceremonies as a celebration suite where you can organise a first toast or some light catering. Light, airy and with folliage details throughout- it is a wonderful space for you and up to 50 seated guests.

Services Offered

St George's Town Hall offers four different packages to accommodate varying needs and budgets.

Statutory Ceremony

This is our cheapest and most basic. You and two witnesses, in a working office, every Wednesday morning, saying only the legal words.

Registration Only

Our most popular option for couples who are planning a religious or other celebration later, this allows couples to be legally united without any bells and whistles distracting from their other "big day". You will say the legal words and sign the schedule in any of our rooms with as many guests as you like.

Simple Ceremony

For those who want a bit more: a bit of music, a speech from the registrar, an extra promise during ring exhange.

Enhanced Ceremony

For those who want it all: readings from guests, custom music, a grand entrance, access to our dressing room. You will have access to our digital ceremony planner so that you can have your ceremony exactly the way you'd like.

Post Ceremony Celebrations

We can offer exclusive use of The Garden Suite for our couples. Starting from £400, you and up to 80 standing guests can spend time before or after your ceremony in our reburbished space facing onto the St Georges Gardens. This will be a dry hire allowing you to bring your own food and drink for a small celebration before moving on to any larger events you may have that day.
