The undulating South Downs are the backdrop to our 19th century Victorian country house, where delicious food, stunning gardens and sumptuous spa will make your wedding day complete.

Your ceremony
Say your vows surrounded by nature with our 19th century house as your backdrop. A long carpet leads you through rows of white lawn chairs to our gorgeous wrought-iron pavilion. Ideal for outdoor ceremonies of up to 180 guests.
With three elegant indoor ceremony spaces to choose between, The Goodwood Suite which is perfect for intimate ceremonies of up to 50 guests, The Glyndebourne Suite works perfectly for medium-sized weddings of up to 80 guests and The Shelley Suite, with room for up to 180 guests.
The reception
Enjoy the manicured lawns and terraces for your drinks reception with access to a private bar, then our breathtaking Gladstone Suite with room for a grand reception of up to 180 guests, Gladstone is filled with light from the triple-aspect windows and has commanding views of the South Downs. The fresh, elegant décor offers endless possibilities for dressing up or down to match your vision. Looking for something more intimate...The Disraeli Suite has large windows flooding the space with light. With stunning views of the South Downs and access to a private terrace of your own, this is a wonderful space for an intimate wedding celebration for 30-50 guests.
The perfect backdrop
Set in 93 acres including a manicured lawns and beds, a rockery, vineyard and of course the stunning 19th century house we provide the perfect back drop for the shots capturing your special day.
For those harder to reach locations the team will be happy to get the buggy wheels rolling.
Menus
We are incredibly serious about food and drink. This is your biggest day, and every bite and sip will be worthy of the occasion.
Whatever your tastebuds are crying out for, that’s what you’ll have. Choose from dozens of options for canapés, the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet. Whether it’s fine dining or sharing platters, you’ll get exactly what you want on the day. And of course, we cater to any and all dietary preferences. Our menus are very comprehensive. But if there’s something special you’ve always wanted for your big day, just let us know.
We love to make the evening reception unique and fun too. We can arrange bespoke cocktail receptions and espresso martini towers to name but a few.
Accommodation
In addition to a beautiful room selection ranging from our Comfy rooms to Signature and Hot tub Suites. We also offer Family Suites, our stunning Lakeside Lodges and a private 4 bedroom en suite cottage. Ideal for the Bride and co the night prior and or the all important wedding morning preparations on the big day.

For South Lodge's experienced team, your satisfaction is their number one priority when it comes to working towards your wedding vision. Our team of wedding coordinators will be there to guide you through the process, being on hand with recommendations and to answer your questions. They host just one wedding per day, so you can rest assured that they'll give your wedding their undivided attention. The bespoke South Lodge packages are built for your requirements and include a menu tasting for two, Toastmaster, day-of coordination, and expert guidance from our team.

From the outset, Lizzie, the Events Manager, was incredible. She guided us through every detail with patience and expertise, always available to discuss ideas, answer questions, and resolve any concerns. Her dedication and professionalism ensured that our wedding planning process was smooth and stress-free.
On the big day, the food and service were truly five-star. Every course was cooked to perfection and presented to a fine dining standard, impressing all our guests. The team went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of the meal was exceptional.
The entire staff at South Lodge Hotel deserves special mention. Their attentiveness and willingness to help were evident throughout our day. Whether it was the setup, the drinks reception on the patio, or the evening festivities with our band, they ensured everything ran seamlessly.
A standout member of the team was Dan, the Toastmaster. His exceptional skills were pivotal in the smooth running of our day. Dan’s attention to detail and warm demeanour made him an indispensable part of our wedding, ensuring that every moment was perfectly timed and executed.
We had 65 day guests and an additional 30 for the evening. The drinks reception on the patio was a highlight, providing a stunning backdrop for our celebrations, and the evening entertainment with the band was the perfect ending to our special day.

With 13 years experience at some beautiful and unique venues across the UK I am here to help and support you through the planning process.
I joined the team three years ago, bringing with me a strong operational background and hands-on experience in delivering exceptional events. My practical understanding of how a wedding day runs allows me to share valuable insights, helpful tips, and expert guidance to help every couple create something truly special. I'm passionate about customer service and love being part of those unforgettable moments that make each celebration unique.
Outside of work, I'm an avid runner and firmly believe that the further the distance, the better the challenge. I also studied Creative Music Technology at university, combining a love of creativity with a keen eye for detail.
With a passion for creating unforgettable wedding experiences, I bring hands-on expertise from a wide range of events, from luxury hospitality venues to large-scale celebrations. Working as a Conference and Banqueting Assistant at South Lodge Hotel, I've played a key role in delivering seamless weddings, from room set-up to service.
