The Relais was born from the renovation of the ancient hamlet of Canalicchio, built around the Poggio Castle (dating back to the 10th-11th centuries) that dominates the village with its imposing tower.

Within the village, the historical and rural origins of the place are evident: it still retains castle structure with a huge millstone, the old wine press and charming arches that evoke ‘atmosphere and charm of times past
