Castle Wedding Venues in Umbria

When booking a destination wedding, the biggest fear is the unknown of what type of service each venue truly provides. There are beautiful venues all over the world, but it is the team behind the venue that is what makes weddings truly special. The team at Castello Di Montignano set the gold standard for this. We identified a short list of venues and Guiseppe's team responded immediately with incredible attention to detail. We instantly trusted them. We were told we would be the King and Queen of the castle and there was not one single point where we did not feel like this. Often people asked us about the stress of planning a destination wedding…in all honesty, with this team it was easy. Clear, honest and transparent communication was provides at all times. This relieved us of all stress associated to planning and executing a destination wedding. The food and wine tasting trip is the most magical reason for pre-wedding long weekend…everything comes to life when you meet this amazing team in person and explore the venue for the first time. Eva, David and the entire team held our hand at all times when completing the wedding technical document and structuring our dream wedding. No request was ever too much to ask…which was pretty crazy considering they had on average of 3 weddings a week there from April onwards! Planning is one thing, execution is another. It was flawless. If there was even the slightest hiccup (it’s a 3 day wedding, there will always be some type of late drama!) David was on hand to iron it out immediately. We had a small hiccup with the band that we selected and David and Eva jumped in immediately to let my Wife and I focus on our big day. The whole team spoilt us and our guests. Feedback from our guests was that it was the wedding of the year. There is an aura of energy at Castello Di Montagano that just makes it impossible to not have fun and create the most magical memories. Thank you Guiseppe, Eva, David and the entire team, we cannot wait to visit for an anniversary year or perhaps even a big birthday celebration sometime in the future…. P.S when they say you can ask for anything you want, they REALLY mean it! Also, if you are contemplating the fireworks….just do it.

We genuinely cannot recommend this venue enough. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was somewhere special, and somehow our wedding ended up being even more magical than we had ever imagined. Marco was incredible throughout the whole planning process and was a huge part of the reason we chose the venue. He was always so patient, flexible and helpful, making planning a destination wedding feel so much easier. The venue itself is one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to, and we truly fell in love with it from the very beginning. What made it even more special was getting to share it with all of our favourite people and watching them fall in love with it just as much as we did. Even a week later, our guests are still talking about it! The three days we spent here created memories we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives. It truly felt like our own little Italian dream come to life, and we honestly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place to celebrate. We keep reliving every bit of it with every spare minute we have. ✨ We already can’t wait to come back.

My wife Lucia and I got married in this wonderful Borgo in 2023. We found out about this place on the internet and booked a visit about a year before the date we wanted to get married. It was the first place we saw as a possible location for our wedding, but we didn't look at any others: it immediately seemed perfect to us. You might think it was just because of the beauty of the place or the many options offered by the spaces, but what struck us (as Italians, we are used to beautiful places, even if such beautiful ones are rare) was the helpfulness and professionalism of the staff. They made us feel welcome right away, in a genuine and sincere way, with the natural aim of supporting us in every phase of the wedding planning and enriching us with suggestions and ideas, always putting my wife and me first. I am used to traveling a lot for work and tourism, and never—I mean never—had I felt truly helped in this way. The obvious result was that the event was wonderful: every detail of the borgo was taken care of, with staff accompanying each guest to their room, a lush garden, and all the guests in awe of the beauty of the place. Two and a half years later, I realize how lucky I was to meet the people who made everything so great. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them from the bottom of my heart.

The venue was absolutely beautiful and created a magical setting for our wedding day. The staff were friendly, attentive and always ready to help, which made everything feel smooth and stress free. Their professionalism and positive attitude gave us confidence throughout the planning and on the day itself. The food was amazing, very tasty and there was plenty for everyone, so our guests were happy. We felt that the quality of the service, the setting and the catering was very high. The value for money is excellent. We would definitely recommend this venue to other couples looking for a beautiful place, great food and a team they can trust.

My husband and I had the privilege of having our wedding at Borgo Petroro and we cannot think of a more perfect place for such a special day. Firstly, the location and venue are stunning. The venue itself is perfectly managed and our guests loved their rooms as well as the accompaniments like the pool, the olive groves, the piazza, the restaurant and the taverna. Most importantly, the staff who manage Borgo Petroro are what make it truly special. Everyone we met greeted us with warmth and love which made my wife and I (in addition to all of our guests) feel so at home. Marina is an excellent property manager who shows her love of the venue through her care of the property and all its guests; Daniela, Jessica and Caterina were amazing front of staff who helped our guests feel welcomed and organised! Giacomo, Simone and Florian provided an incredible experience for our guests whether it be through outstanding dinner service, wine tasting or simply engaging with guests; and finally, Federico for making the most incredible food we have ever eaten! Finally, we would not have been able to have such an amazing wedding experience without Andrea. Andrea is an incredible manager who worked closely with us to ensure that we had the wedding of our dreams, and thanks to Andrea - we had that and more! He went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly for us and all our guests. We cannot stress how amazing Andrea has been from start to finish, and we are incredibly grateful to you all. Borgo Petroro will be a special place for us always and we intend to return every year.

When you decide to pack up and head 7000km away with your people to have your dream fairytale wedding, all you can hope for is someone like Julie on the other end. Our experience from planning over emails, texts, and video chats, to our friendly welcome a the castle, all the way through our entire wedding day we felt immense support. Her expertise and professionalism (plus a great sense of humour!) put us at ease, gave us the best recommendations and made what could have been a stressful time into joyful memories we'll cherish forever. Julie went above and beyond, handling last-minute details to create unforgettable experiences for us and our family the entire week we stayed at the castle. A bride's best friend! Our guests were blown away by the backdrop, the food, the incredibly talented vendors and overall experience in Umbria. Wish we could do it all over again! This decision is a no brainer!!
