THE LADY OF EDEN
Our Secret Walled Garden is best represented by the poet Laste Redemption, aided by the Young Professor, who were both so captivated by the magic of this garden that they wrote a poem to catch its essence. This poem is now etched in stone and hung on the walls of this ancient garden.
This is just an excerpt from that poem:
The Lady of Eden
(Lady Eve, folk tales would have us believe, inhabits the walled garden)
“You might glimpse Eve and kind rustics as night falls
Stacking horse and cart, shutting down sturdy stalls
Wending their way as dusk settles on the day
Feel the rich calm of this special space
Hear the serene siren’s song, catch her frail face
Images locked in, a sad plaintive voice calls
Freed fleetingly from within these ancient walls
Most will never savour gentle Eve’s essence
A chosen few only will sense her presence
Or her rare embrace in this enchanted place”
