Quernmore Park Hall

Celebrate your special wedding in the unique and magnificent environment of a Grade II* Listed Stately Home, accessed through the old forest by a gated long lane which opens out into the Georgian splendour of Quernmore Park Hall with its sweeping lawns, ornamental gardens and an ancient forest dating back to the Norman Conquest and Roman Times. - The Estate is the home and a haven to much wildlife including Deer, Squirrels, Hare, Owls and birds including spectacular buzzards and animal life of many other varieties.

Step into timeless elegance with your own unique wedding reception set within, ‘Eve’s Secret Walled Garden’, where the monks once toiled to produce ‘their daily bread’ and where history and nature entwine to create an unforgettable awesome experience. Nestled behind ivy covered high garden walls and with a gated entrance, the ‘Secret Walled Garden’ offers an aura of privacy, charm and old world romance – A picture perfect setting for celebrating your true love and happiness.

As guests arrive, they would be greeted by the scents and sounds from the myriads of song birds and of blossoming flowers, roses, wisteria and hydrangea and in season an abundance of over-burdened, sun-riped fruit trees and many many more floral surprises. Gravel paths wind around the garden revealing manicured lawns, an ornate fountain and climbing vines that spill over an archway entwined with roses and with a ‘hard to find’ wishing well to enable you to seal your good luck and happiness for the future.

You will walk through the colourful hydrangea pathways to reveal romantic hideaway seating for your guests to experience and enjoy as the sun sets on your celebration and the gardens reveal a renewed life under the golden hour sun.

You will enjoy this beautiful, oldie worldie venue which your guests will adore. Imagine a string quartet, live bands or a simple soundtrack with music of your choice played as your guests enjoy cocktails and canapés on the lawn.

Dinner (i.e. sometimes called your wedding breakfast) could be served under the stars, after the heart felt speeches, laughter and of course dancing into the late hours. The raised patio if you decide could be the place for the picturesque outside bar with a backdrop of ivy-covered walls with lovely views over the walled garden.

As the evening deepens, the garden transforms into an even more magical space, perhaps lit by candlelight or fairy lights for you and your guests to enjoy and in which to celebrate.

This is a setting that will remain deeply personal in your fond and lasting memories with each moment steeped in the natural beauty and history of this mystic place, evolved over the centuries.

This Walled Garden is best epitomised by the poet, Laste Redemption aided by the Young Professor who were so captivated by the magic of the Walled Garden that they wrote a poem to catch its essence and which is now etched in stone and hung on the walls of this ancient garden. This is just an excerpt from that poem:

The Lady of Eden

(Lady Eve, folk tales would have us believe, inhabits the walled garden)

“You might glimpse Eve and kind rustics as night falls

Stacking horse and cart, shutting down sturdy stalls

Wending their way as dusk settles on the day

Feel the rich calm of this special space

Hear the serene siren’s song, catch her frail face

Images locked in, a sad plaintive voice calls

Freed fleetingly from within these ancient walls

Most will never savour gentle Eve’s essence

A chosen few only will sense her presence

Or her rare embrace in this enchanted place”
