The Life.Centre is one of the most unique and versatile wedding and event venues in Dorset. With its distinctive range of rooms, large and small, the Life.Centre can accommodate practically every wedding wish and size, from small, intimate receptions to full-scale wedding extravaganzas. The incredible Art Deco building can be transformed into your ideal setting, with fully tailorable packages and flexible facilities, accommodating anything from 100 to 750 guests. Opened in 1936 as The Moderne cinema and operating until the mid-60s when it was taken over by Coral and later Gala Bingo, it has now been extensively and lovingly restored to embrace its original character and function as a modern, vibrant community hub and events facility. With nods to its history weaved into the building’s rooms and plans, there are plenty of beautiful spaces for the perfect photo opportunity, whilst also acting as the perfect canvas for your vision. The building and especially our large Harbour Hall has embraced classic whites (including a horse-drawn carriage!), a momentous garden disco for over 600 guests, pretty in pastels and a floral abundance in autumnal jewel tones – to name just a few of the favourites!
