Set on the edge of the Cranborne Chase National Landscape near Shaftesbury, Dorset, Springhead is an idyllic venue for a weekend country wedding. Surrounded by the beauty of unspoilt nature, the Mill, gardens and different accommodation areas at Springhead offer each couple the flexibility to tailor their wedding in their own way.

The Springhead Trust is a small rural charity and income generated from weddings here is used to fund our work, such as welcoming young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to the countryside and teaching about the natural world, sustainability and conservation.

Facilities and Capacity

Couples who choose Springhead will have exclusive use of the Grade II listed Mill and surrounding lakeside gardens, as well as a private car park. A central feature of the ornamental gardens, the Rotunda is licensed for wedding ceremonies and makes a beautiful, romantic venue for those couples who choose an outdoor ceremony. Indoors, the Mill lounge is ideal for an intimate ceremony of up to 60, with the adjoining room perfect for receptions. These rooms are a blank canvas and can be decorated to suit your vision. The kitchen on-site is fully equipped to cater for up to 60 people. Simple overnight accommodation is available for up to 47, making this the ideal place to take the time to enjoy an extended celebration with friends and family. For couples wanting to hold a larger reception, for up to 120 guests, there is space to arrange a marquee by the lake.

Services Offered

The Springhead Trust provides a small and friendly atmosphere for your wedding. The site is effectively ‘dry hire’, which means that you can serve any food and drink you would like, or hire in outside caterers, musicians etc. Appointments for viewings are available, and we are happy to show you around the venue, discuss your requirements, and answer any questions you might have.
