About

Kirklinton Hall & Gardens is a Grade II listed country house ruin being transformed into a wedding venue in Cumberland, Cumbria, near the Scottish border. Currently being restored to its former glory, this unique property sits on a 14-acre estate that features a part-walled garden, formal terraces, woodlands, and a meadow. Most of Kirklinton remains a ruin, with roses entwining themselves between the worn walls and windows. It sits as a stunning monument to its original self and will provide a gorgeous backdrop for your special day.

Facilities and Capacity

Kirklinton Hall & Gardens grants newlyweds exclusive use of its grounds inclusively from April to October. As well as many spaces for your civil ceremony, the hall is within walking distance from Kirklinton Church for Christian traditions without the worry of travelling. This extraordinary setting will be open for weddings from the summer of 2023. From then, the Coach House will be available for ceremonies of up to 100 guests and small wedding breakfast parties of up to 60 loved ones. For larger parties, simply walk through the walled garden to the petal marquee on the grounds, where you can host a grand soiree with 170 people. The property features onsite bathroom facilities and accessible amenities, ensuring the utmost comfort for everyone in attendance. For autumn 2023, the Courtyard has planned a ground floor, two-bedroom self-contained cottage, and the Tower will feature a one-bedroom cottage. The Pavilion at Kirklinton currently offers restored luxury accommodation for two guests. The team has many landscaping plans and cannot wait to show you around and fill you in on everything taking place.

Services Offered

Owners Jess and George can't wait to hear from you to discuss your desires and what's in store for Kirklinton Hall & Gardens. Due to specific structural works that need to be completed, the long hall ruin will be available as a ceremony and wedding breakfast option in the summer of 2024. The team are very excited to begin landscaping Kirklinton to provide a one-of-a-kind setting for milestone occasions.

Magical Venue ✨

We can’t recommend Jess and George at Kirklinton enough! What started off as our dream wedding venue has been left a home from home!
Jess and George were so accommodating of our plans and made sure everything was absolutely perfect. The on site accommodation is beautiful and ensured 20 of our family and friends could stay on site and enjoy a “destination wedding” feel for the two nights.
We would choose Kirklinton again in a heart beat. It’s beautifully unique and just nothing at all like anywhere else in the area. Our guests were so impressed!
100% recommend ✨🥂
