Situated just two miles from St. Andrews in Fife, Kinkell Byre is a charming converted barn wedding venue available for private hire. Dating back to the 1700s, this historic property offers ample event spaces for your special day. Scenic coastal views, romantic lighting and rustic, cosy atmosphere .. what more could you want!
Facilities and Capacity
Kinkell Byre offers several area of the Byre to host various aspects of your wedding celebration. Up to 200 guests can be comfortably accommodated within the ceremony room and you can have more for dinner if needed, allowing you to host lots of your friends and family at your occasion.
There is a delightful entranceway that provides the perfect spot to greet guests and serve welcome drinks. Your ceremony can be held under a starlight canopy composed of twinkling fairy lights in the ceremony room. Afterwards, guests can transition to the Long Shed for a relaxed drinks reception. This space features beautiful stone walls, you can add some comfortable furnishings and there is a built-in in house bar.
Your wedding breakfast and evening reception can be hosted in the Main Dining Room, which provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for parties. This rustic barn is a blank canvas that can be easily transformed to suit various styles, needs and your wedding visions.
The ample outdoor space can also be utilised for an open-air drinks reception and serves as an idyllic setting for wonderful wedding photos.
Services Offered
The friendly and knowledgeable events team at Kinkell Byre have over 20 years of experience in hosting special occasions here. They offer a wide variety of services and amenities to facilitate a stress-free planning experience. The hire of this venue includes exclusive use for your event, no corkage fee for 2 drinks at drinks reception, 1/2 bottle wine for dinner and a toast glass. There is an inhouse bar that comes fully stocked and staffed and an extensive wine list to order fizz and wine for your day on a sale or return basis.
You have the ability to choose your own suppliers for your big day. Furniture hire can be hired from Kinkell and a complete wedding package can be designed to suit your specifications.

Unbelievable.
The staff are the most accommodating people I have ever met. They went above and beyond of us from the moment we emailed about a viewing. I can't believe I got the day I did cause it felt like something out a of movie. Massive shout out to Claire who couldn't of been more helpful.
I was told by so many guests " This is the most beautiful wedding venue they have ever seen".

The wedding venue of our dreams!
We visited Kinkell in Oct 2020 - 2 weeks after our engagement and Sophie gave us the two tours over the weekend. She was so so friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a good initial feeling about the venue- we had it booked 2 days after! It was also the first and only venue we viewed in person!
The Kinkell team were absolute superstars, both answering my many emails with LOTS of queries. Nothing seemed too much hassle and they always responded super quick! A massive help was also Claire on the day who was like my third bridesmaid! Sorting my veil, decorating the cake, feeding me Prosecco when I was freaking out before going down the aisle and making sure we were ready for key photos/timings like the sparkler shot! Tegan was fab as well who had the not so lovely job of tidying up post-party and gathering our items for an easy pop in the car on Sunday.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning, we found nowhere else near comparable. Spoilt for choice with so many beautiful spots for photos too. We chose Kinkell as we knew if we weren’t blessed with Scottish sunshine we would still get fab photos - luck was on our side and we were able to get photos in the orchard, against the red barn doors, the sea backdrop and by the golf course.
It was such an amazing day we’ll never forget. I would highly recommend Kinkell to all future brides and grooms looking for a stunning barn venue to put their own stamp on!

Our wedding day was (of course!) the most special day of our lives, and how the venue and all the team there contributed to it, made it even more special. It ran without a hitch and we could not thank them enough for helping and hosting our perfect day.
We went back for our first anniversary and we even planted a tree with the help of the rewilding team - it was so so special!
This venue is so unique, romantic and special, you will be hard to find anywhere that matches it.
