Great Ote Hall has been looked after by the Godman family since 1530. For over 20 years, mother and son team Carola and Matthew have been running the wedding & events venue, which is surrounded by their working farm.
For a special day, you need a special location. The impressive grounds and backdrop of Great Ote Hall provide many opportunities to capture the unforgettable memories of your wedding day.
If you are looking for a venue for your civil ceremony and wedding reception, then you will be amazed by the beauty, privacy and flexibility of the house and grounds nestled in the heart of the Sussex countryside. Your wedding reception will be an unforgettable experience for both you and your guests.
Marquee Wedding Reception Venue
Great Ote Hall offers you exclusivity, allowing you to choose your own caterers and suppliers to create your perfect event. Marquee wedding receptions can be held on our immaculately kept lawns within the beautiful gardens, and we are happy to assist you with designing your own bespoke package to meet all your needs and expectations.
At Great Ote Hall, we encourage our guests to use the venue for the full weekend for a fixed fee. Most of our couples choose to host a brunch on the Sunday.
Civil Ceremonies Venue
Great Ote Hall has its own wedding license and is the perfect venue for your civil ceremony. This impressive 16th-century manor house retains many original period features, including ornate fireplaces and a wooden panelled dining room.

Wonderful Venue
The fact you could choose your own suppliers, meant we could be as as informal as we wanted. Carola and Matthew were so welcoming, and flexible for when the weather meant we couldn't get married outside as we'd planned. Luckily the sun came out soon after and our guests were able to enjoy the beautiful gardens.

Carola has been hosting weddings & events at Great Ote Hall for over 20 years with her son Matthew. The House & Farm have been in her family since 1530.
When Carola isn't helping plan weddings she runs Ote Hall Farm. Before taking over the estate Carola worked for the late Dutchess of Kent.
Matthew runs the venue and farm with his mother Carola. They will both work with you and their extended team at Ote Hall to make your wedding the perfect celebration.
Matthew previously ran an events & nightclub business in London & Edinburgh and is getting amrried at Ote Hall in 2027.
