Myself and my husband had the most amazing and special wedding day at Dalston Hall. The staff were great and the wedding coordinators couldn’t have done more to make sure our day was everything we wanted. We loved that we had exclusive use of the venue the day before and the day of our wedding. The grounds are stunning and the rooms are luxurious. The most amazing day from start to finish, wish we could relive the day all over again.

I got married at Dalston Hall in 2011, we had the ceremony outside and the reception in the Baronial Hall (before the marquee was contracted). This weekend I held my 40th Birthday Party in the Baronial Hall, it was the perfect backdrop for my glamorous black tie theme, the main hall with tables and dance floor, bar and pool table room provided guests with plenty of different areas to explore. I hired High Dynamics at the suggestion of Dalston Hall and she was fantastic. The space was ideal for my group of about 75 but could have easily accommodated a few more. I had a cheese and biscuit buffet with cake served later on. I would also recommend making use of the spectacular balcony and staircase to make a grand entrance! If you’re after a smaller venue full of character I would totally recommend the Hall. On top of that the staff were fantastic and accommodating of all my requests and mad ideas.

Coming from Plumbland in the Lake District, my wife as a newly wed it amuses me writing that! wanted our wedding ceremony to be held at Plumbland church near to her home and the following celebrations to be near by.

We spent a number of weekends travelling across to the Lakes we live in Newcastle Upon Tyne looking for a venue for the ''do''. After visiting more than 20 different venues we narrowed our choices down to a select few, then finally deciding upon Dalston Hall. We made this decision based on cost, the numbers the hotel could accommodate for the wedding breakfast, the setting and the location of the venue.

At first we were a little unsure about Dalston Hall. It only has 13 rooms which was far too few for our number of guests and we had read some unflattering reviews on websites such as this. We overcame the rooms issue, however, by hiring a local coach company to ferry guests to and from accommodation in Carlisle and, after visiting a number of times, we decided to go ahead and ignore the poor reviews.

When the big day arrived our decision to hold our wedding reception at Dalston Hall was more than rewarded. Thanks to the hard work of all the staff we had the most perfect day imaginable. We arrived to drinks and canapés on the lawn, during which a large number of our guests complimented us on our choice of venue commenting on the idyllic setting. Once the reception drinks had been finished and photos taken we moved inside for the wedding breakfast. The service was excellent and the food was as good as in any top class restaurant a considerable achievement considering the numbers being catered for!. During the meal the wine was topped up without request and the champagne delivered with perfect timing for the speeches. Later on in the evening we were all treated to a professional fireworks display well worth the additional cost which delighted our guests.

Karen, Jannie apologies if that’s mis-spelt Charlotte and the rest of the staff were both friendly and informal whilst being thoroughly professional. One single friend attending the wedding summed up our feelings when he said “I need to find a girl to marry just so we can get married here!”

We would recommend Dalston Hall as a wedding venue to any one who might be considering it.

I would just like to say a huge thankyou to all the team at Dalston Hall who worked so hard to make my wedding day the best day of my life. I truly felt like a princess from the minute i booked until the following morning. Charlotte was an absolute star nothing was too much trouble and Jan was fantastic when he picked us up from my house, making jokes to keep the nerves at bay!!! THANKYOU DALSTON HALL!!

We had our wedding at dalston hall on xmas eve 2005 and it was the most magical day. Every one felt so special. we were treated like royalty. All the staff were fantastic infact they were truely amazing. If you want the wedding of your dreams Dalston Hall is definately the place for you. If you want your special day in a magnificent castle, then go to Dalston Hall. Everything from the moment we booked until the moment we left was perfect. Charlotte ran our day so smoothly, nothing was too much trouble and everything seemed to flow perfectly. A special thank you to Karen & Charlotte who were on hand at any time day or night to help us with any problems - even at 12pm the night before sorting out my dress!! I would reccommend Dalston Hall to everyone, it was the most magical day of our whole lives.

Had our wedding there 2 weeks ago (23rd July 2005) and I couldnt fault the place and the staff - they were absolutely Fab the whole day and made sure the day ran without any hitches. The food gorgeous, staff polite, stunning views and grounds, Bedrooms lovely - they really did make you feel special and nothing was too much hassle. I definitely recommend! Katherine and David xx
