Burningfold Manor is a 15th-century country estate wedding venue set within 300 acres of Surrey countryside, on the Surrey–Sussex border. Offering exclusive-use weddings with on-site accommodation for up to 32 guests, the estate provides complete privacy and the freedom to shape your celebration entirely around you.
At the heart of the estate sits the Grade II listed Manor House, surrounded by rose-walled gardens, open lawns and far-reaching countryside views. Weddings can be hosted across a collection of indoor and outdoor spaces, including the Manor House, gardens, stable bar and a purpose-built marquee positioned between the stable bar and lined barn. Couples also have the option to site a marquee elsewhere on the grounds, allowing for flexibility in layout, guest numbers and the flow of the day.
Burningfold offers intimate weddings for up to 60 guests within the Manor House, garden ceremonies for up to 120 guests, and larger celebrations of up to 180 guests within the marquee. The oak-panelled Library, with its impressive fireplace and characterful features, provides a beautiful setting for civil ceremonies and smaller receptions. Ceremonies can also take place in the rose-walled gardens or marquee, while nearby churches including Dunsfold, Chiddingfold and Hascombe offer additional options for religious services or blessings.
Following the ceremony, guests can enjoy drinks and canapés in a variety of settings across the estate - from the walled gardens and open lawns to the waterside courtyard overlooking the lily pond, or beside the outdoor pool. Receptions can be held within the Manor House, marquee or a marquee positioned on the lawns, offering flexibility throughout the day and into the evening.
Burningfold Manor can be hired exclusively for day weddings or multi-night stays. Our on-site accommodation for up to 32 guests includes the Manor House with seven en-suite bedrooms and the newly refurbished Coach House sleeping ten guests, both included for two-night stays. Additional accommodation is available in Chapel Cottage and the Dolls House, a private retreat for the couple, located around the scenic waterside courtyard. Guests staying on site can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool and tennis court during their stay.
As a family-run wedding venue, Burningfold offers a personal and supportive approach. Each couple has a dedicated point of contact throughout their planning, ensuring every detail feels considered and seamless. With a limited number of weddings hosted each year, couples are able to create celebrations that feel personal, relaxed and entirely their own.
Conveniently located within easy reach of London, Guildford, Brighton and the South East, Burningfold Manor combines countryside tranquillity with accessibility.

Meet the team
Growing up in the countryside, I developed a lifelong love of animals and country living. My career began in the horse racing industry, working in sponsorship and corporate events at Sandown, Kempton and Epsom, before settling at Burningfold Manor where Richard and I raised our four children.
After 26 years of family life at the estate - hosting parties, charity events and weddings for friends - opening Burningfold to couples felt like a natural next chapter, allowing others to create memories in a setting the family has long cherished.
I oversee every wedding at Burningfold, guiding couples from their first enquiry through to the day itself. I value the entire journey - getting to know each couple, shaping celebrations that reflect their story, and witnessing the emotional moments that make every wedding unique.
For me, what makes Burningfold special is simple: it has always been a place where people feel at ease - particularly in the walled gardens, a private haven that remains at the heart of the
estate.
Burningfold was acquired in 1999 along with 300 acres of farmland and historic buildings dating back to a 15th-century hunting lodge. With a long-standing involvement in horse racing and sporting ventures, the purchase was an easy choice.
Together with Jessica, I built family life at Burningfold before moving locally, creating the freedom to develop weddings, polo, hospitality and fun - built with family and friends and assisted by a skilled local cottage industry that makes the operation special.
I describe my role simply as the “fixer” - ensuring Burningfold is ready and presented, hopefully exceeding expectations. The charm and history can create the occasional challenge,
but it has yet to let me down. Checklist complete, it’s on with the show.
For me, one of the greatest rewards is seeing others experience joy in a setting that has been part of my family’s story for over two decades - watching individual celebrations come together with the support of Team Burningfold.
Having grown up at Burningfold, I have a natural connection to the estate and many cherished memories of family life there - from long summer evenings by the pool to childhood games in a house full of history and character.
Today, my role combines creativity and communication.
I manage Burningfold’s social media presence across platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, handles new wedding
enquiries and maintains ongoing contact with couples throughout their planning journey, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way.
I love hearing each couple’s unique ideas and watching their individual style come to life. For me, the speeches are always a standout moment - when heartfelt words, laughter and emotion bring the whole room together.
What I believe couples appreciate most is the warm, relaxed atmosphere from the moment they arrive - a setting where everything feels personal and truly special.
