Bermondsey Social Club is an independent venue hidden under the railway arches of Bermondsey, South East London – where industrial charm meets proper good times.
We’re probably best known for throwing weddings that feel more like the best party you’ve ever been to than a “wedding”. Think high ceilings, top-notch PA and lighting system, long feasting tables loaded with incredible food ( that you source ), reasonably price drinks from our own bar, and a dance floor that doesn’t empty until the early hours (4 am license 7 days a week, if you’re in that kind of mood). Oh, and did we mention we boast SE London’s best secret garden!
Couples book us because they want a day that’s relaxed, authentic and unpretentious – but still jaw-droppingly gorgeous when the lights go down.
Our story? We are a vaudeville-style venue and proud to host a variety of events, from private events for parties to birthdays, to club nights and hosting some of the most up-and-coming acts. Over the years, we’ve held performances from AJ Tracey, IDLES, Wet Leg and Pink Pantheress ( who made her debut at ours ). Ten years on, we’re still the same small team – just with a lot of experience to host the perfect wedding party.
Working with us feels like planning your wedding with friends who happen to be really good at this. We listen to what actually matters to you, no rigid packages, no upselling – just honest advice, proper London suppliers we’ve known for years, and a ridiculous amount of attention to detail so you can switch off and enjoy the ride.
What makes each wedding special? You do. We only ever host one wedding a day (often one a weekend), so the place is completely yours.
Bring your mad ideas – we’ve built ceremony arches out of old scaffolding, turned the courtyard into a beer pong area, and once had a bride arrive on a horse and cart (true story). Whatever your vibe – big multicultural feast, intimate 50-person rave, or something in between – we’ll make it feel you unmistakably.
