We got engaged on Christmas Day and I knew before New Year’s Day that I wanted us to get married at Berkeley Castle. By the time the wedding office reopened on 5th January, we were booked in! We didn’t actually view the castle in person until February, but after a video call with Jess beforehand, we already knew we’d made the right decision.

Jess was incredible throughout the entire planning process. She responded to emails almost immediately, no question ever felt too big, too small or too silly, and she made us feel like we had a friend on the inside when it came to navigating all the ins and outs of getting married at Berkeley. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble and having her there throughout the planning made the whole experience so much easier.

Jess was on holiday for our actual wedding day, but she handed everything over to Gail, who made sure the day ran like clockwork. From our side there was genuinely no stress. Every detail had been taken care of and we were able to just enjoy the day knowing everything was in safe hands.

And then there’s the castle itself. It really is the most incredible wedding venue. It’s grand, dramatic and full of history, but somehow still manages to feel intimate and romantic at the same time. Our guests were completely blown away by it, in exactly the same way we were when we first saw it.

The accommodation included with the venue was also stunning and such a lovely addition. Our families loved having that extra time together and a beautiful space to relax before and after the wedding.

We knew almost immediately after getting engaged that Berkeley Castle was where we wanted to get married, and looking back, we genuinely couldn’t imagine having chosen anywhere else.

Wow what to write…Berkeley castle and the team absolutely lived up to the hype.
If I could put more than 5 stars I would, there expertise, experience and overall service, made our big day, all we could ever hope for.
