Picture your wedding day...

Your closest friends and family are gathered around you. There are hugs, happy tears, laughter, photographs, stories being shared and memories being made.

And then there's Grandma. Or Grandad. Perhaps they’re not as steady on their feet as they once were. Maybe they need help getting around, someone to keep them company, or a little extra assistance throughout the day.

But that doesn't mean they should miss out.

That's where I come in.

I created my Wedding Guest Chaperone service in Sussex because I believe that age or mobility shouldn't be a reason for someone you love to miss one of the most important days of your life.

My job is to be there for them, and, just as importantly, to give you and your family peace of mind.

I'll get to know your elderly loved one, and understand what will make them feel comfortable and confident. From helping them get ready in the morning, and arranging door-to-door transport, to making sure they're settled at the venue, have everything they need and feel included throughout the celebrations.

Sometimes it's practical help. Sometimes it's companionship. Sometimes it's simply having someone there who notices when they need a chair, a drink, a bit of shade, a helping hand or a quiet moment.

And I genuinely love this part of what I do.

Alongside my work in weddings and events, I volunteer with the charity 'Embracing Age', spending time with an elderly gentlemen living in a care home, and I also help at 'Elevenses' at the Arundel Lido - a community group for people living with dementia. I’ve discovered how much I enjoy the company of older people; hearing their stories, making them laugh and, most importantly, making them feel seen, heard and valued.

That’s the same approach I bring to weddings.

I'm not there to simply tick boxes or provide a service. I'm there to become a familiar, reassuring face for your loved one - someone they can trust and enjoy spending the day with.

While I'm by their side, you can be fully present in your own wedding. You can dance with your friends, enjoy dinner with your family, laugh until your cheeks hurt and soak up every precious moment, knowing that the person you love is being looked after.

From getting ready in the morning to getting safely home and settled after the celebrations, I'll be there for them.

Because your wedding day is about bringing the people you love together.

And I believe everyone deserves the chance to be part of it.
