How Much Does It Cost To Hire a Bar

Whether you want beer, wine, or cocktails for your wedding day refreshments, you'll want to consider hiring a mobile bar. Depending on your tastes, wedding size, and budget, you can expect a minimum spend of between £100 and £3000. Some private bars offer their services on a per-person basis. For these, you'll typically be looking at a cost of between £25 and £100 per guest.

Mobile Bar Dry Hire

Dry hire is where a client directly hires the event bar with the appropriate equipment such as beer cellars, fridges, barware, and back bars. No staff or stock are included with this rental - hence the phrase "dry hire"! This is a great option if you'll already have staff and stock at your venue and only need the bar and equipment.

Pay As You Go Bar

A pay as you go bar rental covers the use of an event bar, equipment, staff, and beverages. During the course of your festivities, guests pay for their drinks as in any other bar. Alternatives include token bars, where guests pay with tokens to speed up service, and pre-paid bars, where guests may drink without paying themselves.

Southdowns were amazing on our wedding day, from helping us create our signature wedding cocktail to a full bar service throughout the evening, they were brilliant. Everyone loved the drinks - especially the espresso martini tower! The staff were great and chris was extremely helpful meaning it was an extremely easy and fun experience for us. Thank you!

We’re do we even begin. Ellie and her team really are something special. The beautiful bar and decor is a work of art itself, it really brings the place alive. The cocktails are gorgeous and delicious. The service is warm and wonderful. Working with Ellie has been a pleasure from start to end, they brought this air of calm to the whole experience, because you just knew you were in safe hands. The team were so accommodating and every one of our guests raved about the bar. Thank you Bower + Hawthorne, you are a master of your craft!! Cannot recommend highly enough ❤️

Chris came to provide cocktails for a hen do and was absolutely brilliant. He was on time and managed to grab us some ingredients we hadn’t been able to. At the event he was super friendly and accommodating and made absolutely delicious cocktails for us all, finally he left the event super clean and tidy. Very very happy

We were really impressed when we booked the travelling tavern, we were looking for a bar that was able to supply some local products, and that was also affordable. We chose to just have a cash bar, so we paid a deposit that they refunded on the day and our guests bought their own drinks, we did consider doing welcome cocktails, however our venue also offered this so we let the venue do it.
