Bride Forced to Sleep in a Tent the Night Before Her Wedding on Don’t Tell The Bride

We’d be absolutely fuming

During the 12 years that it’s been on our screens, it’s safe to say that Don’t Tell The Bride has seen it’s fair share of wedding disasters.

However, this week’s groom has been branded one of the “worst” grooms the show has ever seen. Why? Because he forced his bride to stay in a tent the night before their wedding, while he slept in a posh hotel. Ouch.

Bride Rosie, 30, had dreams of a rustic wedding in a barn wedding venue, but her 26-year-old groom Josh had very different ideas.

Granted, Rosie didn’t have very high hopes for Josh from the outset. She said: “His proposal wasn’t even a proposal. He didn’t even propose with a ring. I didn’t even get a ring ’til months later.”

Josh joked: “The wedding could potentially turn into a lads holiday.”

When the experiment began, he decided he wanted to try and make his wife-to-be less “high-maintenance”. The best way to do that, he thought, was to make her sleep in a tent the night before their vows. But it would be for her benefit, of course…

He said: “She can get quite insecure about the way she looks. I tell her how beautiful she is all the time, how she doesn’t need all this stuff.

“But if I take that out of her control, she’s going to have to get married anyway. She’ll say she looks ‘rough’ but to me she’d still look beautiful.”

Despite Josh thinking he was doing the right thing, even his best man tried to persuade him otherwise.

He said: “Rosie is going to be flying out of that tent – kicking off big time.”

Things went from bad to worse when Rosie learnt that she’d not even have anywhere to get ready on the morning of the wedding… and that she’d be saying ‘I do’ at the very festival she’d camped at. In front of 7,000 music fans, no less.

She said: “I’m not starting my wedding day in a tent… he wouldn’t do that. The showers are rubbish – what are we going to do?”

Her bridesmaid gasped: “He’s put her through hell.”

Rosie later refused to have the festival-style makeup her groom had organised for her, and all the while, Josh was living it up in a posh hotel around the corner.

When everything all got a bit much for her, Rosie said: “It’s my f**king wedding day. I’m not alright. I don’t want to see him!

“I’m not getting ready. I want to be excited and enjoy the morning and I’m still sat in a tent.”

Even Rosie’s mum broke down in tears and said: “My daughter shouldn’t have to go through this on her wedding day – she’s supposed to feel special.

“Nothing special about putting a bit of glitter on in the morning. Just re-iterates the fact that Jake doesn’t care about how she’s feeling.”

Eventually, the bridesmaids persuaded Rosie to get ready and make the most of a bad situation, and although she did (just about) enjoy her day in the end, viewers were quick to say they’d also be raging.
