Based in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, Papillon Events specialises in beautifully designed luxury weddings, marquee weddings and outdoor celebrations at private homes, country estates and exclusive venues throughout the UK.
I’m Charlotte, founder of Papillon Events, and for over 13 years I’ve had the privilege of helping couples turn their ideas into truly memorable celebrations. What I love most about wedding planning is that no two weddings are ever the same. I take the time to really get to know my couples — their style, what matters to them and how they want their wedding to feel — before bringing all those ideas together into one beautifully considered celebration.
I’m particularly known for planning luxury marquee weddings and weddings at private homes and family estates, where we often begin with a completely blank canvas. These are the weddings I love: taking a garden, paddock or beautiful piece of countryside and transforming it into somewhere extraordinary for the day.
From the first conversations about the overall concept and design through to finding the right marquee, caterer, florist, entertainment, furniture and lighting, I’m there to guide my couples through every stage. On the wedding day itself, I oversee all the details behind the scenes, allowing them and their families to simply enjoy the celebration.

I offer full wedding planning, partial planning and on the day wedding management, tailoring my involvement to the level of support each couple needs.
Over the years I’ve built trusted relationships with an exceptional network of suppliers, and I only recommend people I genuinely believe are right for a couple’s individual brief. Whether we’re creating an elegant country wedding, a spectacular luxury marquee wedding or a completely bespoke outdoor celebration, every element is carefully considered to ensure the finished wedding feels personal to you.
Couples often describe me as calm, organised and someone who seems to be everywhere at once — and that is exactly how I want them to feel on their wedding day: confident that everything is being taken care of behind the scenes.
Papillon Events is based in Oxfordshire and I regularly plan weddings throughout Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and the wider Home Counties. However, location is never a barrier. I’m very happy to travel further afield and work with couples planning weddings and celebrations across the UK including Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire.

Meet the team
I’m Charlotte, founder and lead planner at Papillon Events. I started the business in 2013 and, more than 13 years later, I still genuinely love the excitement of taking a couple’s ideas and turning them into a celebration that feels completely their own.
I’m naturally organised, calm under pressure and have a real eye for detail — all fairly essential qualities when you’re coordinating multiple suppliers, managing a marquee build or making sure everything happens exactly when it should on a wedding day!
For me, wedding planning is also very much about the people. I love getting to know my couples, understanding what’s important to them and building a relationship where they know they can trust me to take care of the details. I’ll offer advice when it’s needed, find solutions when plans change and be the calm presence behind the scenes when the big day finally arrives.
I particularly love working on weddings at private homes and family estates. There’s something incredibly special about transforming a place that already means something to a family and creating a celebration there that will be remembered for years to come.
When I’m not planning weddings and parties, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family and friends, travelling somewhere new, enjoying a good restaurant or walking my cockapoo in the Oxfordshire countryside.
I feel incredibly fortunate to do a job where I’m trusted with such an important moment in people’s lives — and there’s still nothing quite like standing back on a wedding day and seeing months of planning come together.
