About

Nick Baskerville Photography provides documentary wedding photography for couples who want their day captured honestly, naturally and without being turned into a production.

Based in Brighton & Hove and working across Sussex, London and beyond, Nick specialises in photographing alternative, LGBTQ+ and non-traditional weddings where personality, connection and atmosphere matter more than following a script.

Most couples who enquire are looking for photography that feels real. They don't want awkward posing, hours away from their guests, or a photographer constantly directing the day. Nick's approach is calm, unobtrusive and people-focused, allowing moments to unfold naturally while ensuring couples feel completely at ease in front of the camera.

Before becoming a wedding photographer, Nick spent over 20 years serving in the British Army. That experience shaped the calm, reassuring presence he brings to every wedding, helping couples stay relaxed even when timelines shift or unexpected moments arise.

Every wedding is approached as a unique story rather than a checklist. From emotional moments with family to packed dancefloors and everything in between, the focus is always on documenting the atmosphere, energy and genuine connections that make each wedding feel uniquely yours.

For couples looking for authentic, documentary-led wedding photography with a relaxed and inclusive approach, Nick Baskerville Photography offers an experience designed to help you stay present in the day while the memories are captured naturally.

Amazing documentary style pictures

Nick, thank you so much for the photos, I genuinely love every single one of them. You captured our ceremony perfectly, exactly as I had hoped. I remember saying to Richie afterwards that it almost felt like you weren’t there, which sounds like a strange compliment, but it made such a difference to me because I really don’t enjoy having my picture taken. The relaxed atmosphere you created meant I was just able to enjoy the day.

When we talked before the wedding, I'd asked Nick for a documentary style because I wanted our photos to feel natural and real, like actual memories rather than staged moments, and to try and avoid my awkwardness with posed pics. Our wedding was a short twilight ceremony at 6pm, so we didn’t have much time for posed shots anyway. Nick understood exactly what we wanted - a few posed photos so we weren’t away from our guests for too long, and actually, even though these only took 20 mins or so, it didn't feel rushed at all. We got all the mandatory family pics, as well as a few fun ones on Richie's motorbike! These are some of my absolute favourites.

You delivered everything I hoped for and more. Thank you for giving us memories that feel so authentic and special. You can feel the joy from the wedding in every picture, and they make me smile every time I look at them.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to make your big decisions easier.
