About

On Hitched.co.uk since 2026

Last update: June 2026

A former national radio documentary maker with more than 1,000 weddings and over two decades behind the camera, Neale has built a reputation as one of the UK’s most experienced documentary and reportage wedding photographers. Based in Berkshire, he photographs weddings regularly across London and the Home Counties, from elegant country house weddings and outdoor celebrations to barn weddings, church weddings, civil ceremonies and destination weddings.

His way of working is simple: natural and mainly hands-off, letting the day unfold and stepping in only when moments dictate, such as keeping a family group photo from drifting or making couple portraits feel quick and painless rather than a production that removes you from your day.

Whether it’s a summer wedding in the gardens, an autumn celebration beneath changing colours, a winter wedding by candlelight or a spring ceremony outdoors, what matters most is rarely planned. After all this time, Neale has learned how to read a moment and be there for it without getting in the way. The result is a collection of photographs that lets you see your own wedding properly.

Why couples choose Neale

Every wedding is photographed as a bespoke story. You’re working with a professional photographer who understands how important personal service is. No teams, no hand-offs and no unfamiliar faces arriving on the day. From the first conversation through to the final delivery, it’s the same person throughout, someone who knows your plans and, most importantly, understands what matters to you.

Neale’s focus is on natural, authentic coverage, whether photographing intimate weddings, large family celebrations or relaxed outdoor ceremonies. The aim is always the same: photographs and films that show you your day years down the line, not something overworked or staged. Pricing is kept transparent, so there are no awkward surprises later on.

I'm a former national radio documentary maker and, over the past two decades, I've photographed more than 1,000 weddings. That experience has shaped the way I work today: as a documentary and reportage wedding photographer whose job is to tell the story of your day rather than direct it. Based in Berkshire, I regularly photograph weddings across London and the Home Counties, from elegant country houses and outdoor celebrations to barn weddings, church ceremonies, civil weddings and the occasional destination wedding abroad.

My approach is simple. I believe the best photographs happen when people are busy living the day rather than performing for the camera. For most of your wedding, I'll work naturally and unobtrusively, watching, anticipating and quietly documenting the moments that matter. When I do step in, it's because it genuinely helps, perhaps keeping family photographs running smoothly or making your couple portraits feel relaxed and enjoyable rather than a lengthy photoshoot that takes you away from your guests.

After photographing so many weddings, I've learned that every celebration is different, but people are wonderfully predictable. I know when emotion is about to surface, when laughter is building and when a fleeting glance between two people is about to become one of the photographs you'll treasure most. My aim is simple: to create a collection of images that allows you to experience your wedding all over again, including the moments you never even knew happened.
