Jonathan did an exceptional job photographing our wedding at the Bay Tree Hotel in Burford. Aside from the final photo’s being absolutely incredible, his knowledge of the venue and local area was superb! He is very professional and has great interaction with guests, many of whom told us how lovely they thought he was! Jonathan played a huge part in making the day feel very relaxed, for us and our guests! He also has great initiative and helped us capture some amazing video footage using our GoPro! We were blown away when we received our preview shots and then our final photo’s!

Wow—where do we even begin?

We booked Jonathan for our wedding photography as we knew there would be no one better for our special day and he proved us right in every possible way.

Every single photo captured was absolutely stunning and perfectly captured the magic, emotion and atmosphere of the day. We particularly love Jonathan’s style as he really focuses on the smaller details and natural situations rather than a more posed style.

The time, care and attention to detail Jonathan puts into his work is unmatched — we and all our guests were blown away by how beautiful every image turned out.

What stood out even more was his professionalism and support in the lead-up to the wedding. From our initial consultation and answering all our questions, to guiding us with poses and timing on the day itself — he went above and beyond to make everything stress-free, especially with a last minute venue change!

We were really happy with the service from Jonathan from start to finish. In the first conversation we had with him online before we made the booking, he was really easy to talk to: friendly, empathetic and open to our questions and ideas. He made it very easy for us to make all the necessary arrangements with him ahead of the big day, which was really helpful amidst all the decision-making and moving parts that come with a wedding. We particularly appreciated having the chance to request photos of particular people and moments, in addition to arranging the traditional portraits with the wedding party. He delivered on this and it helped ensure some particular memories that our families wanted were recorded.

Almost a year later we are still delighted with our photos. I could write at length about them all, though I appreciate it won't necessarily interest readers! To be brief, they are beautifully crafted and very complimentary of the settings of our wedding. I refer to the church and the restaurant's features, but also the particular weather and light we had that day. Most importantly, in a lot of the photos people are captured looking like their best selves: in them, we can see the particular smiles, gestures and movements that are part of why we love them. This is something we really wanted from our photographs and Jonathan more than delivered. We didn't need to request any edits to any photos, except perhaps for one thing, which was my wedding dress which got a little mud on it from rain. You can't see this in the photos. Whether that was a clever edit or not, thanks so much, Jonathan!

The process of making the album was really smooth. We worked with him to select our favourites and left some space for him to add his preferred photos, and he shared his arrangement with us. Neither of us know a lot about photography or arranging albums and the process felt like the right balance between choosing what we wanted and having the benefit of his artistic skills.

Finally, he was just a really lovely presence on our wedding day: our guests (where they noticed he was there at all, some said that they didn't!) noticed how nice he was and enjoyed talking to him when the occasion arose. The day was a bit of a whirlwind, it always is, and so when we look back on it, we are also really grateful to have him as one of the team with their feet on the ground.

Thank you so much Jonathan for everything you did for us. The photos mean more than a simple review can express and we will cherish them for decades to come. We wish you more and more success, you will deserve it!

Hiring Jonathan was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. We could not have asked for better.

He was so communicative during the planning stages and patient when sometimes it took us a little while to respond. Jonathan was very accommodating when it came to creating a slightly bespoke package which we really appreciated.

We were both quite nervous with being photographed and I can't recommend an engagement photoshoot enough - Jonathan immediately put two awkward people at ease in front of the camera and before long he felt more like a friend just from that first hour! After that, all our nerves of being photographed on the wedding day just melted away and the photos from that shoot were all fantastic.

He really took the time to get to know us as a couple and what our wedding day would be like and his attention to detail was incredible - for example, he knew that my engagement ring was my mums, and took the most beautiful photo of it during the ceremony which was so lovely. On the day, Jonathan was everywhere (but also incredibly discreet)! There wasn't a moment that went by that passed his notice, and we absolutely loved the time he took in getting photos of all our friends and family enjoying the day. He captured the story of the day perfectly. Taking a lot of time for portraits wasn't too important to us as we didn't want to be taken away from everyone for long, and he totally understood. I think we only took around 20 minutes during dinner but the photos of just the two of us are beautiful.

His attention to detail, his care and his friendliness are second to none. Jonathan was such a calm and supportive presence both on our wedding day and in the lead up to it, and we couldn't be more grateful for everything he did. Not only was his service wonderful and the photos amazing, but we had our previews within the week, and our full album a month later. The hardest part is choosing which ones to hang on the wall! First and foremost Jonathan's photos are just amazing and speak for themselves! Me and my partner can be very awkward in front of the camera, so having someone who makes you feel completely relaxed was just a blessing.
Very very importantly - Jonathan is just a top guy. So so lovely... we even had friends and family saying how nice and kind he was on the day!
He fit in seamlessly and you barely notice he's there getting the best shots. Silent camera and just rapid round the room! Choosing Jonathan to capture our wedding day was one of the best decisions we made.

From the beginning, Jonathan was fast in communication, and it was clear that he wanted to get a comprehensive understanding of us as people, as well as the day we were planning, so that his work could be as in-keeping with the theme and our vision as possible. His preparation was very thorough, which was very reassuring.

On the day, Jonathan arrived early and stayed late, putting in a real shift to make sure that all of the important moments from the day were captured. He has perfected the ‘fly-on-the-wall’, unintrusive style of photography. This meant that the moments themselves happened totally organically, and this exactly how Jonathan captured them. Nothing felt staged or forced, and this was very important to us.

As for Jonathan himself, he was so much more than our wedding photographer. He used his extensive wedding experience to guide us wherever we needed it. He was always incredibly friendly and warm to interact with, and many of our guests, including children, commented on how wonderful he was with them. He helped secure the buttonholes for several of the groomsmen, and the groom. He felt more like a friend or a guest, and this was so special to have.

We received the preview shots the week after the wedding, and wow, we’re blown away. Jonathan captured a marvellous silhouette shot of the happy couple which is breathtaking. Even just from these preview shots, we couldn’t be happier with the quality, the style, and the intimacy of the pictures. We’re very much looking forward to seeing the full library.

There will be about fifty thousand seconds on your wedding day. Across a hundred people, that’s a few million moments, from a billion angles, all overlapping and happening at once. And yet somehow to you it will feel as though the whole thing passes in a single click. When it’s over and the guests have gone home, you will be left with the memories you make and the pictures you take and sadly, not much else.

Looking back on our wedding I realise now that more important than the choice of cake or suit or even dress was the choice of who we would ask to weave his way through this mess of a trillion moments and drag the best bits back into forever.

Jonathan was phenomenal. Of course he got the first dance. Of course he got the kiss. Any decent photographer can get a good line-up and force a few ‘candids’ but Jonathan was different; he was like the air itself. He was everywhere yet nowhere, like some kind of omniscient being, emerging where the most joy, the most laughter, the most love was, to seize that one beautiful shot from the perfect angle then dissolve into the background and reappear elsewhere. The toppling jenga, my niece mooning us with her nappy, the heads thrown back in laughter at some now forgotten joke: these are the moments we’ll return to over and over when we think of our wedding day.

Jonathan also gave me the last photo of myself, my Dad and my Grandad together, not long before we lost them both. And after he heard the news, he printed and framed a copy and sent it to me with condolences, which was such a lovely touch. That photo alone would have been worth the fee.

And on top of all this talent, skill and hard work, he is a deeply kind soul. He was so charming and personable at our small Covid wedding that when he returned the following year for the belated celebration (he bent over backwards to accommodate this), it felt like seeing an old friend.

I’m only sorry it took me so long to write this review and give him the justice he deserves.

We cannot begin to thank Jonathan enough for all that he did for our wedding. From the moment we spoke on Zoom up until the day we received our album,
