What is your starting price?
Prices start at £295, depending on where your wedding is and how long you would like me to play for.
What services do you offer?
Every wedding day is different, but often couples ask me to provide music for their wedding ceremony, during a drinks reception or as background music throughout the wedding breakfast... or a combination of all of them!
What is included in the wedding package?
My prices include travel costs and your choice of music for your wedding ceremony. If you are local to Surrey (or if you don't mind travelling!) you are more than welcome to come and meet me in my home where we can sit and discuss all of your requirements and go through your music choices together.
How far in advance should I contact you?
As soon as you have a date! I only take one booking a day, so once you have decided that you would definitely like me as part of your day, it is best to get you into my diary so that I can guarantee that I can be part of it. Later, we can finalise the timings or other details.
What style of music do you offer?
All sorts! The harp is much more versatile than you might expect and I love playing music that people recognise. I have arranged everything from Bach to the Beatles, Show tune to Ed Sheeran, which all sound great and will keep both you and your guests entertained. Contact me for a list of my current repertoire (although that it does always change with new requests!).
Size of musical group:
Just me! But I am always happy to discuss performing with friends or relatives if you have something specific in mind.
Anything that I can arrange for the harp! A lot of my repertoire is popular classical or modern music that you and your guests will recognise. As a performer, it is incredibly important that the audience can connect with the music that you are playing and the best way for that to happen is for them to recognise the music.
Is it possible to request something that is not in the repertoire?
Absolutely! There is only one way to personalised your music, and that is by having precisely what you would like. As long as I can find suitable sheet music to download and arrange for the harp, I can play nearly anything!
I have been a wedding professional for over ten years, performing at weddings big and small across the south of England. I am recommended by numerous venues and other suppliers, which I hope is testament to my ability not only to play, but to be a successful part of a wedding team.
Do you have your own equipment?
I bring everything that I need to perform either inside or outside during your wedding day, right down to the chair, so you will have nothing to worry about!
Are you able to travel?
I am based in Surrey, but travel regularly across the South East of England. Don't be afraid to ask - I'm a keen traveller, so any excuse for a trip away...!
Is there a charge for travelling?
Not as such. Once we have decided on how much music you would like for your wedding, the price that I quote will include travel and any extras, so there are no hidden costs. I don't charge any additional travel costs for weddings in Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Hampshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire or Buckinghamshire.
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
Of course not!! Having worked in the industry for over a decade, I completely understand that every wedding is special and it is impossible to focus fully on the job in hand if you are clock watching. I aim to arrive at your venue at least an hour and a half before I am booked to play so that I have plenty of time to set up. You can't move a harp quickly, so this is really important that I prepare carefully to make sure that everything is exactly how you imagined.
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?
It's just me, although sometimes for venues with difficult access I will sometimes bring a roadie (also known as my mum!) to help me up sets of stairs.
What is the length of time of the act?
How long is a piece of string? My maximum booking time is for 6 hours, with an average being about 3-4 hours.
How much time do you need to prepare for an act?
Usually I arrive at least an hour before I am booked to play, but if necessary due to access at venues being limited I can set up in as little as fifteen minutes (but I would prefer longer!).
Do you charge per hour or per event?
Per event. Many weddings do not quite run perfectly to time, even with the best of plans and intentions. If you need more time for photographs, for example, if there has been some bad weather which has delayed things, then the last thing that you would want would be your harpist hot-footing it out of the door! By booking by the 'part' of your day, this means that I will stay as long as is needed.
If needed, would you be able to work extra hours
I don't charge by the hour, but by the 'part' of your day. As long as your day stays pretty close to the timings that your venue agreed with you beforehand, then it is never a problem, I just stay until you have finished.
What are the forms of payment?
Usually most couples pay by bank transfer, but I also accept cheques or cash.
