Hello, I’m Mitchell Matthews. I'm recommended and hired by national, international, award winning and celebrity wedding planners. Have a look at my website, I think you might like what I do too.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is your starting price?
Sitting below the V.A.T threshold means that my prices can be about 20% less than a branded quality DJ supplier charges [they pay their DJ's £100's less than you pay them for recommending someone.]
What services do you offer?
Bespoke Wedding celebrations including DJing,Bespoke Wedding Breakfast music, mic's and your style of informal fun announcements,Bespoke Ceremony music,Bespoke Cocktail Hour music,
What is included in the wedding package?
Great sound, great lights, DJs box, me and what's needed, required and asked for.
How far in advance should I contact you?
Although I have spaces, my bookings go unto 2 years in advance.
What style of music do you offer?
I'm skilled to club level at playing lots of different styles of music to lots f different styles and ages of people from Soul to House, Motown and funk to Indi and Rock to UK garage, House to Rock n Roll and I've got years of experience in playing a brilliant mix of all or some of it.
Type of musical group:
Eclectic, Electric, happy to help, highly skilled and totally flexible
Size of musical group:
What's your flavour
Is it possible to request something that is not in the repertoire?
Of course it is. Let me know what you want and I won't just play it, anyone can do that, I'll build your celebration around it.
29 years of playing eclectic music to my friends everywhere from weddings to festivals.
Do you have your own equipment?
Are you able to travel?
Yes I've DJ'd everywhere from Dubai beaches to tiny Scottish islands.
Is there a charge for travelling?
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No and I only DJ at two events per week.
Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?
When I'm not available I recommend the best expert DJs that I know. You get to chat to them directly and pay them exactly the same as they charge. It'd be so easy to brand my company as "The best wedding DJ's available"and sell £450 DJs for £800 plus vat. However, I think taking £300-£500+ of a couples wedding budget for such a service wouldn't be either fair or something that I'd be happy doing.
What is the length of time of the act?
typically up to 5 hours - but give me a call.
How much time do you need to prepare for an act?
The standard 1 hour set up time.
Do you charge per hour or per event?
If needed, would you be able to work extra hours
How do you charge for extra time?
typically I don't
What are the forms of payment?
Your testimonials are great, why don't you win awards
I don't enter awards. Putting my name to an award judged by someone who hasn't seen me play, isn't in the best interest of me, the wedding suppliers who have seen me play and recommend me. not to mention the couples who put their trust is me.
Do you add V.A.T to your quoted price?
No.I sit below the £85,000 V.A.T threshold. Spending my time working directly with people, not earning substantial commission running a DJ agency, means that I can earn an amount I'm content with for doing exactly what I love without charging my couples V.A.T.
Do you recommend "a small team of hand picked" DJ's?
No. I'll tell you If I can't play your event and do my best to recommend a fellow DJ who I know is both highly skilled and also takes the time to help brides to throw a great party. You get to book these people directly and you will pay them exactly what they charge.
Why do you think it's important to book a DJ who has lots of different DJ skills.
Because great wedding parties come from recreating yours, your friends and families diverse 'good time' history. Not every wedding you've ever been to.
Is DJing at a wedding hard?
Filling the dance floor for the last hour is easy, which is why there are so many really average DJ's at weddings. However, filling the dance floor for the entire party is the toughest type of DJing there is. Making people rock for 4+ hours is why I'm absolutely addicted to DJing at weddings and why I get so many brilliant reviews.
Band or a DJ - What's best?
Simple; Typically 1st - Bespoke DJ for 3 hours backed up with 2 x 45 minute sets from a great band 2nd - Bespoke DJ for the entire party.3rd - Band or a Band iPod/ Sound engineer DJ and his lap top combination.Important thought - If you're spending £1500 on a band to play for 1.5 hours then it makes sense to spend half of that on a decent DJ to keep the party going for the other 3 hours.

What a DJ! and much more!
What a guy! Mitch was just an absolutely pleasure to work with! He had everyone absolutely going for it on the dancefloor and we would really recommend him as an MC too - he was so on the timings (yet flexible when we needed to be), and it almost felt as if he was an on-the-day co-ordinator at times! He was there to give us advice, and when we had some very difficult issues with the band which meant they didn't perform, he totally saved the day! (and our guests wanted to party with him rather anyway!)Sent on 12/09/2019

Mitch did an absolutely amazing job with the music at our wedding. We had guests ranging in age between 1 and 95 and he had all ages dancing! Mitch is so friendly and enthusiastic and it was fantastic to have him at our wedding.Sent on 18/06/2019

So much more than a DJ
To say that Mitch was only our wedding DJ really wouldn’t do him justice. He was so much more than that. Guru, advisor, counsellor and life coach. I even found out he was doing some yoga and breathing exercises with my best man before the ceremony to keep him calm.Sent on 12/01/2019
Mitch was superb in helping us plan the music for our day. We wanted him to run all the music for our arrival, departure and even “work the room” in anticipation for our grand arrival for dinner.
Mitch knows how to throw a party! He spoke to us extensively about the type of party we wanted and the type of music we wanted. When it came to party time we had run a little over and he promptly jeed up our crowd by saying “we have two hours to party with the two special people let’s make it happen” the dance floor was full. He totally read the room and gauged what we and our guests wanted to dance to.
We said from the offset we wanted the wedding to end leaving people wanting more and we certainly got that.
We have a lot of love for Mitch.
An incredible DJ and and incredible guy and I can’t recommend him enough.
He truly knows the formula for a great party.
