Fiona grows her own flowers and foliage, managing careful planting, strategic cutting, and timing the growth cycle to ensure that the blooms are at their absolute best, perfection, for the day of your wedding.

As well as having magic powers in the garden she is a wonderful listener, this super power meant that she realised our dreams of colour and structure, gently guiding our choices and suggesting combinations that worked wonderfully well for an October wedding.

As well as having incredible visual impact the subtle scent of the locally grown arrangements was just glorious, all through the RSA the table arrangements and hangings gently perfumed the building.

Fiona made flower crowns for the tiny bridesmaids that they didn't want to take off, button holes for the groomsmen that complemented the bridesmaids bouquets and added unique blooms to the Groom's buttonhole and Bride's bouquet symbolising their special relationship.

On a larger scale she manufactured meadow boxes that lined the Grand Staircase and decorated the Vaults for the after party.

Fiona's approach to sustainability is impressive, she is happy to source vintage cut crystal and glassware and her lovely husband makes the meadow boxes (as well as delicious scones) so that they are a perfect fit for the space. At her suggestion we gifted the individual tiny vases that decorated the tables as wedding favours providing a personal and exclusive treasure to take home that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Air miles are not a concern as all our flowers were grown by Fiona right here in the UK, in her garden and on her allotment, but there was some milage to take into account. Fiona is based near Chesterfield but arrived in London bright eyed and bushy tailed on Saturday morning to bring the wedding to life.

The consultation process was great, initially by email, thank you Hitched, then over the phone and finally in person where we visited twice, once to talk in principle and then a few weeks before to finalise all the tiny details, and to see our flowers almost ready to be cut.

We wholeheartedly recommend Upside-down in a Flower Bed, Fiona's knowledge is only matched by her skill.

Fiona did a fantastic job on our wedding flowers! She was so welcoming and knowledgeable when I visited her home garden where she grows all her own flowers, loved having them grown and arranged locally. We didn't have many set ideas or expectations for flowers, but Fiona guided us through the process and made a beautiful bridal bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 5 grooms/men button holes, and a sweet little wand for my baby flower girl! Fiona is amazing. I cannot thank her enough. Due to a medical emergency I left everything to the last minute. Fiona was at my rescue and went above and beyond thinking of all the small things i had forgotten like a vase for my bouquet through the day. Her flowers were stunning and grown by her and she got me the perfect colour pallet even when I wasn't sure myself what I wanted. She took everything off my plate asked for numbers and just went with it making everything much more easer for me so I could focus on all the other things. I cannot thank her enough or recommend her enough.

What can I say about Fiona? She was absolutely everything you are looking for in a florist!

Firstly, she was very open to my ideas and sharing ideas of her own! She told me what could work and if she felt something would work well, she would provide advice.

She let me and my husband visit her garden which she grows the flowers from, offered us tea, coffee and scones and went through every little details with enough time for me to change my plans if I wanted to.

She was completely accommodating to my changes I made (I added orange flowers in towards the end) and made everything look absolutely beautiful.

Some flowers did break away from the bouquets but that it was it is expected from fresh flowers.

Would definitely recommend her.

Well what can I say, Fiona and her flowers are just magic 🥰. Not only we're my flowers just insanely gorgeous but Fiona made the whole process just wonderful. From visits to her beautiful garden, phone calls, messages and of course Grahams scones, I couldn't fault a single thing. I found upside down in a flower bed through hitched and the name caught my eye immediately, I knew this was my kind of woman. Not knowing Fiona or any florists in the area I had no idea what to expect. But she listened to my brief and advised me so well on how best to create my desired look and I just can't put into words how these flowers were beyond what I expected. From initial enquiry to delivery of flowers to the wedding venue, Fiona and Graham were professional, friendly and welcoming each time we saw each other. Fiona was able to work with the requirements I had, and produced such stunning bouquets and buttonholes for our special day. Her recommendations of adding different type of flowers to elevate the flower arrangement made the bouquets and buttonholes look exceptional. Highly recommend the flowers that Fiona grows, they lasted for more than 2 weeks from when they were cut.

Fiona did the flowers for our wedding on 8 November - she was amazing all throughout the process from when we first enquired! We were amazed seeing her garden where she grows the flowers she uses. We really loved the idea of having local, seasonal flowers, so Fiona was perfect for us! On the day she more than surpassed our hopes for the flowers - we had a floral arch, a bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquet and three buttonholes for the groom and two groomsmen as well as around 50 bud vases. We couldn’t have asked for more beautiful flowers - they absolutely made the day and the setting. The price was very reasonable for what we had. We can’t thank you enough Fiona!

I was so pleased Fiona had suggested to think ahead about where the arrangements would go after the wedding day, to truly enjoy them for as long as possible. Our families, bridal party and close family friends loved their pieces to take home, we took the milk crate on mini moon with us, and my bouquet has been preserved in the form of a display block, tealight holders, cake stand, and a necklace which I wear every day. So I'm still getting compliments on our wedding flowers months later!

Fiona did our flowers for our wedding celebrations in summer, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the results! From the first consultation to the final arrangements for the day, she went above and beyond.

The bouquets, button holes, and buckets of flowers were absolutely stunning and it made it even more special knowing they were grown locally. We received so many compliments on the flowers from our guests and we would highly recommend to anyone looking for wedding flowers!

Fiona provided the most gorgeous wedding flowers for our wedding in June - arch decoration, bouquets, hair flowers and table flowers along with petals for our flower girl. We asked for as much colour and variety as possible and she went above and beyond our wishes. Every single guest commented on how lovely the flowers were and they completely made the décor (we didn't need anything other than the florals). Fiona was also incredible in the run up to the wedding - letting us walk around the garden to pick out flowers as well as running through different options for bouquets and hair pins. I cannot recommend them enough.

We chose Fiona because she offered the option to go to her garden and choose out your flowers. Which for me just added that extra bit of personalisation. Fiona did a brilliant job of creating our perfect bunch with very little information from myself as I had no knowledge of flowers.
