Fiona grows her own flowers and foliage, managing careful planting, strategic cutting, and timing the growth cycle to ensure that the blooms are at their absolute best, perfection, for the day of your wedding.

As well as having magic powers in the garden she is a wonderful listener, this super power meant that she realised our dreams of colour and structure, gently guiding our choices and suggesting combinations that worked wonderfully well for an October wedding.

As well as having incredible visual impact the subtle scent of the locally grown arrangements was just glorious, all through the RSA the table arrangements and hangings gently perfumed the building.

Fiona made flower crowns for the tiny bridesmaids that they didn't want to take off, button holes for the groomsmen that complemented the bridesmaids bouquets and added unique blooms to the Groom's buttonhole and Bride's bouquet symbolising their special relationship.

On a larger scale she manufactured meadow boxes that lined the Grand Staircase and decorated the Vaults for the after party.

Fiona's approach to sustainability is impressive, she is happy to source vintage cut crystal and glassware and her lovely husband makes the meadow boxes (as well as delicious scones) so that they are a perfect fit for the space. At her suggestion we gifted the individual tiny vases that decorated the tables as wedding favours providing a personal and exclusive treasure to take home that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Air miles are not a concern as all our flowers were grown by Fiona right here in the UK, in her garden and on her allotment, but there was some milage to take into account. Fiona is based near Chesterfield but arrived in London bright eyed and bushy tailed on Saturday morning to bring the wedding to life.

The consultation process was great, initially by email, thank you Hitched, then over the phone and finally in person where we visited twice, once to talk in principle and then a few weeks before to finalise all the tiny details, and to see our flowers almost ready to be cut.

We wholeheartedly recommend Upside-down in a Flower Bed, Fiona's knowledge is only matched by her skill.

Fiona is an artist! She is truly so so creative and she spent so long taking the time to understand the day and the vibe we were going for. Fiona kindly invited us to her garden to see the flowers and her lovely husband made scones for us, and we had the most wonderful afternoon. In the lead up to the wedding, Fiona sent pictures of my flowers and the bud vases and communication with timings and drop offs could not have been better. On the day, Fiona brought the calm into the room, and the flowers looked stunning! She also left extra vases at the venue to make sure we could use the bouquets later, and she sent pictures of the set up at the venue. The flowers were exactly what we wanted! We had so many comments on them - the colours, the little touch of the marigolds! Everything was perfect. Thank you so much Fiona!!

I honestly couldn’t recommend Fiona more! From the very first time we met, she was so warm, welcoming and lovely, and the whole experience of working with her was just incredibly special.

Fiona went above and beyond to bring my vision to life, including hand-picking flowers from her own garden to create our bouquets and wedding flowers. I had asked for beautiful blue shades, and somehow she created something even more gorgeous than I ever could have imagined!

The little finishing touches were what made everything so perfect. Having different flowers for each of my bridesmaids, which were then all incorporated into my own bouquet, was such a beautiful and personal detail. It was absolutely perfection and made the flowers feel so unique and meaningful.

Even the meet and greet at Fiona’s house was such a lovely experience — sitting down with a cup of tea and her homemade scones felt so personal and welcoming, and really showed how much care and thought she puts into everything she does.

The flowers were genuinely one of my favourite parts of the whole wedding and I will never forget how beautiful they were. A huge thank you to Fiona for creating something so incredibly special and for making the whole experience so lovely. I could not recommend her more! xxx

Fiona really made my vision come to life. The flowers were beautiful and everyone said how luxury they looked.

We loved working with Fiona for our wedding flowers. My partner and I didn't have a specific vision for our flowers, but Fiona really helped us craft one by taking us through her garden and showing us some great options for seasonal flowers. The flowers looked stunning on the day, and were commented upon by all of our guests. It really made the day more special, helped even more so by the fact that they are all grown locally. The homemade scones provided upon our visits were also a lovely touch

From start to finish, planning, advising and showing ys her garden, this lady (Fiona ) was amazing, from not knowing what to organise, Fiona took control of our flowers with listening to our ideas to colours and styles. I can say anymore than she was bloody fantastic,

Fiona was absolutely wonderful- she was the most helpful, supportive and calm person to have on her team and was a god send! Our visits were so personal being able to see the flowers being grown for us (and the home made treats!)

Fiona has been wonderful and welcoming since I first reached out to her. I met with her in her studio, where she spoke me through my options, listened to what kind of flowers I was looking for, and even had some scones. Her garden is beautiful, and she even invited me to pop by at any time, which I did take her up on a couple times. We trusted her with our vision and she absolutely delivered. I couldn't have asked for more perfect flowers on our special day. They are still lasting now, a week later too! Fiona was incredible. She immediately understood my autumnal vision — the textures, colours, and scents I dreamed of. When we met in her garden that September, over coffee and scones, I knew I’d found a kindred spirit in colour. Though the weeks before the wedding were hectic and we couldn’t meet again in person, her communication was flawless, and I trusted her completely. Fiona was the friendliest florist I think we could have asked for! We had a wonderful time meeting up with her to discuss our flowers and getting a tour of her fantastic garden.

Fiona did a fantastic job on our wedding flowers! She was so welcoming and knowledgeable when I visited her home garden where she grows all her own flowers, loved having them grown and arranged locally. We didn't have many set ideas or expectations for flowers, but Fiona guided us through the process and made a beautiful bridal bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 5 grooms/men button holes, and a sweet little wand for my baby flower girl! Fiona is amazing. I cannot thank her enough. Due to a medical emergency I left everything to the last minute. Fiona was at my rescue and went above and beyond thinking of all the small things i had forgotten like a vase for my bouquet through the day. Her flowers were stunning and grown by her and she got me the perfect colour pallet even when I wasn't sure myself what I wanted. She took everything off my plate asked for numbers and just went with it making everything much more easer for me so I could focus on all the other things. I cannot thank her enough or recommend her enough.

What can I say about Fiona? She was absolutely everything you are looking for in a florist!

Firstly, she was very open to my ideas and sharing ideas of her own! She told me what could work and if she felt something would work well, she would provide advice.

She let me and my husband visit her garden which she grows the flowers from, offered us tea, coffee and scones and went through every little details with enough time for me to change my plans if I wanted to.

She was completely accommodating to my changes I made (I added orange flowers in towards the end) and made everything look absolutely beautiful.

Some flowers did break away from the bouquets but that it was it is expected from fresh flowers.

Would definitely recommend her.

Well what can I say, Fiona and her flowers are just magic 🥰. Not only we're my flowers just insanely gorgeous but Fiona made the whole process just wonderful. From visits to her beautiful garden, phone calls, messages and of course Grahams scones, I couldn't fault a single thing. I found upside down in a flower bed through hitched and the name caught my eye immediately, I knew this was my kind of woman. Not knowing Fiona or any florists in the area I had no idea what to expect. But she listened to my brief and advised me so well on how best to create my desired look and I just can't put into words how these flowers were beyond what I expected.
