Founded by Katie, whose passion for events, catering and bringing people together over great food and drinks is at the heart of everything Fruit & Cactus does. Her goal is to help bring your event dreams to life, whether that's creating memories with your guests, finishing off your venue with a beautiful bar setup or cooking something special for you and your loved ones.

From a young age, Katie knew she wanted to work in the food world. Weekends were all about baking with her grandparents and school holidays were spent hanging out at a friend's family restaurant, watching the chefs do their thing. As soon as she could, she enrolled in culinary college and landed her first job as an event chef.

When she got into cheffing professionally, Katie was lucky enough to be mentored by two of the best chefs she knows. Growing up surrounded by amazing food and talented chefs shaped everything. Since then, she's had the chance to dive into every part of hospitality and events - from designing menus, sourcing the best ingredients and leading food service, to curating bespoke drinks lists, picking out the best locally produced drinks and managing all the bar logistics. She's also worked in event planning, finding top-tier staff and handling event ops and logistics.

These days, you'll almost always find Katie in the kitchen or out in the workshop creating something new and exciting - but if she's not there, she's likely off on an adventure in the great outdoors!

At Fruit & Cactus, it's all about creative and practical solutions to make your event awesome. Whether it's a food and drink serving space, handmade garden games or a 9-hole mini golf course, everything arrives ready to go so you can focus on enjoying your event. Sustainability is important too, so old trailers are lovingly restored and other materials upcycled to create cool, functional pieces.

For private dining, Katie brings the same ethos into the kitchen. From relaxed dinner parties to special occasions, she cooks seasonal dishes in your home, taking care of the details so you can enjoy time with your guests - with a particular love for sourcing the best local produce around.
