Let's start with the positives!
They turned up and set up on time and the Halo Pod style photo booth was very popular. Their set up was smart and professional looking.
Sadly the negatives outweigh the positives.
On our guests entrance to the wedding breakfast venue, loud, very 'not wedding' music was playing and the venue organisers had to dash around to find the DJ to get him to change it. Not a good start. Our first dance song and second dance song were played as requested but shortly after this, the DJ proceeded to play his own choices rather than the songs which we went to great lengths to personalise for ourselves and our guests.
We asked on a couple of occasions to play our suggestions/playlist (whilst trying to get round to see our guests!)
This really wasn't something that we should be doing and he responded with "I'm just getting them warmed up first"
We trusted his expertise but in hindsight, we were wrong to do so (not much warming up going on) and he failed to play hardly any of our songs.
The ones he chose were, as one guest put it, " like a Benidorm disco!" Obviously some of our guests danced for most of the night but there was never a real mix of ages on the dance floor together, which is surely what a wedding DJs job is all about?
Numbers on the dance floor certainly, sadly dwindled towards the end of the night. To top it all, not even one slow dance was played :( By this stage, we were just too tired to care! The DJ has sort of apologised in emails but no real explanation has been given. It didn't spoil our special day but we certainly don't have very good memories of our wedding disco. Be careful folks when choosing the DJ!
