A wedding ceremony is the one part of the day that is entirely about the couple. It should sound ike them, feel like them, and be the moment guests are still talking about on the drive home. That belief is at the heart of everything Paul Maxin does.
Paul is a multi-award winning independent celebrant based in North Essex and qualified through thee International College of Professional Celebrants. He writes and delivers ceremonies for couples who care about the detail, and who want something far more personal than a standard script.
Every ceremony starts with getting to know the couple properly: a relaxed conversation, a thoughtful questionnaire, and time spend finding the small moments that make their story their own. Paul then writes each ceremony from scratch, with no templates and no stock readings dropped in to fill time. Instead their are rituals and words that could only belong to that couple.
Before becoming a celebrant, Paul spend many years leading global talent acquisition and working alongside senior executives in high-pressure moments. That shapes how he works on the day. He is calm, organised, discreet and quietly in control, and he works closely with planners and venue teams so everything runs to time. That leaves the couple free to simply be present.
Recent ceremonies include the Wilderness Reserve, Kimberley Hall, Parklands Quendon Hall, The Marquis Suffolk, Wootton House and NoMad London.
A venue visit and rehearsal are included as standard. Paul can also MC the day, giving couples one trusted voice from the ceremony through to the speeches.
Paul gives every couple his full attention, from the first conversation to the final words of the ceremony, so popular dates are best secured early.

Finding the right celebrant for our wedding was surprisingly difficult. Most of the celebrants we spoke to were a little too formal, which just wasn't the vibe we were going for.
We met Paul at a local wedding show, explained exactly what we wanted, and he immediately understood the brief and reassured us it was something he could deliver.
We booked Paul there and then, and we're so glad we did. His communication in the months leading up to the wedding was spot on – not too much, not too little, just the right balance.
Paul took the time to get to know us and picked out all the key moments from our meetings to create a fun, personal ceremony that had everyone laughing, smiling and completely engaged from start to finish.
