We’d never been to a celebrant-led wedding before, so didn’t know what to expect. Laura was recommended to us by Brunswick House, our venue in London — and given how many celebrants they must see come through, that recommendation meant a lot.

Despite being based in outside London, it was clear Laura does plenty of weddings in the capital too, and she made the whole planning process feel completely seamless regardless of distance.

From our first conversation, she brought brilliant ideas and helped us work out exactly what we wanted from our ceremony, and the process itself was genuinely fun — we ended up just chatting away.

She even helped us compose our vows independently of one another, ensuring they were balanced and complimentary but also - and most importantly - a welcome surprise on a day that requires so much thought and planning.

One of the standout moments was when Laura asked our permission to call our kids and get some “insider gossip” about us. She kept everything they said a closely guarded secret right up until the big day, when she wove it into the ceremony as a surprise. We had forgotten all about it so it was completely unexpected, utterly delightful, and had everyone in fits of laughter — exactly the kind of thoughtful, touch that made her stand out.

On the day itself, I was more nervous than expected, and Laura was hugely reassuring and grounding, helping me re-centre right when I needed it.

The ceremony itself she delivered with aplomb and a huge generosity of spirit. It was authentic, bespoke to our story and captured the warm, relaxed, joyful atmosphere we wanted — hands down the most memorable part of our day.

Guests kept asking “where did you find her??!!”, several assumed she was an old friend because she seemed to know us so well, and everyone said how unique and personal it felt.

Laura was amazing from start to finish! We had a perfect ceremony that we will never forget. On a day filled with so many highs, our ceremony remains our favourite part. Our guests were talking about it relentlessly afterwards throughout the day. Some thought we had known Laura for years based on how well her ceremony captured us as individuals and as a pair.

It was really important to us that our ceremony set the tone for the day; we wanted to start on a high and have everyone feel like they were a part of it, so that the good vibes would flow as the day rolled on.

Laura was professional throughout. She was always available to discuss any aspect of the ceremony. She was flexible the script, though we didn’t make use of this flexibility because we were entirely pleased with what she came up with! We spent a while coming up with some more fun ways to involve people in the ceremony. Laura put a lot of work into finding and even sketching out things we could do. Ultimately her passion for what she does really shone through!

We cannot thank her enough. Not only did she write an amazing ceremony, but she also pushed us out of our comfort zone and encouraged us to write our own vows, and we are so glad that we did.

On the day, Laura was a calm, positive and focussed presence, which was very important as my (now) husband and I we arrived late and a bit stressed at the chapel, due to our transport issues. As well as being an incredibly skilled and talented celebrant, Laura ensured that everything at the chapel ran smoothly and that all our guests were happy too. Laura met my husband and I 3 times before the ceremony and spent many hours getting to know us both and our relationship. She was kind and non judgemental about us but also guided us with her years of experience as a celebrant. There was a good amount of back and forth via email to really get the ceremony the way we wanted and to make sure it worked. The final face-to-face was just before our wedding day at the venue which really helped calm our nerves. Most of all, Laura is an excellent speaker - warm, confident and genuine, and clearly gives the job her all. When we started planning our wedding, I knew I wanted to have a celebrant. Although neither of us had been to a celebrant ceremony before, I knew from my research that a celebrant could deliver a much more personal ceremony than a registrar. As soon as we met Laura on a Zoom call, we knew she was the perfect match for us. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, Laura was always there to answer our questions and provided us with all the help and guidance we needed to plan the perfect ceremony. As the big day got closer, we met Laura for a drink so she could get to know us better and begin writing our ceremony. Laura greeted us with a big hug and was so warm and friendly that it felt easy to share our love story with her. When we read through the first draft of the ceremony, we both cried – we couldn’t believe how carefully Laura had listened to us both, and how she had managed to weave in so much emotion while also adding humour in all the right places! We also chose to write our own vows and Laura was incredibly helpful, providing advice about the wording and structure to make sure that both sets of vows were of a similar tone. It’s actually hard to find the words to describe just how incredible our ceremony was, but it’s safe to say that Laura is absolutely top of her game! The whole thing felt so ‘us’ and really reflected our personalities, our love and our lives together. Everyone laughed and everyone cried – it really was more perfect than we ever could have imagined! EVERY SINGLE ONE of our guests commented on how amazing Laura was and that it was the best wedding that they’d ever been too – I really believe this was because Laura created such a personal ceremony for us. We are so grateful to Laura for writing and leading our wedding ceremony so beautifully and for giving us the most special memories for years to come.
