Guests at weddings often compliment things like the food, venue, flowers or dad dancing, but at our wedding the highest praise was reserved for our celebrant. Laura set the tone and energy not just for the ceremony itself, but for the entire day, creating an atmosphere that was full of fun, positivity and meaning. So good that she inspired one guest to train as a celebrant herself!
In the preparations, Laura was genuinely invested in the story of our relationship, and the time she spent with us was translated into a personal, tailored ceremony that fully reflected our character. While she was conscious of when we were nervous or unsure, she always encouraged us to be bold, suggesting a few touches that truly made the occasion.
In summary, Laura's a professional, a lovely person and a creator of gentle wedding magic! -

We can't thank Laura enough for creating such a magical wedding ceremony for us and our guests. Everyone commented on how beautiful the ceremony was, and we really appreciated the time and effort that Laura put into making it such a unique and personal experience for us. We felt incredibly well supported throughout the whole process and we feel very lucky to have had such a wonderful celebrant! We were blown away by her ability to pick up on and understand our stories and personalities so well, and then to craft such a beautiful ceremony. It was perfect in every way! On the day, Laura was a calm, positive and focussed presence, which was very important as my (now) husband and I we arrived late and a bit stressed at the chapel, due to our transport issues. As well as being an incredibly skilled and talented celebrant, Laura ensured that everything at the chapel ran smoothly and that all our guests were happy too. We feel very lucky indeed to have found Laura! -

Laura met my husband and I 3 times before the ceremony and spent many hours getting to know us both and our relationship. She was kind and non judgemental about us but also guided us with her years of experience as a celebrant. There was a good amount of back and forth via email to really get the ceremony the way we wanted and to make sure it worked. The final face-to-face was just before our wedding day at the venue which really helped calm our nerves. Most of all, Laura is an excellent speaker - warm, confident and genuine, and clearly gives the job her all. Our guests had nothing but praise for the ceremony and Laura, some saying it was the best they'd been to. We couldn't have asked for a better celebrant! -

Laura did such a masterful ceremony that afterwards, one guest told us that they had never been interested in getting married, but now they are reconsidering!
The whole experience having Laura as our wedding celebrant was brilliant. From the first meeting, right through to the ceremony itself.
From the first moment it felt like we were in extremely experienced and safe hands. She sat down with us to talk through our story, which was a surprisingly moving and beautiful part of the process.
She took us step by step through to having a ceremony that was better than either of us could have imagined. It always felt like we were in the best hands possible.
On the day, having Laura was like having an angel on our shoulders. She didn't just perform the ceremony perfectly, she also helped with any element of the day that could be smoothed by her attention (whilst never feeling remotely intrusive).
The ceremony had the entire crowd crying with both laughter and from being moved, in all the right moments.
It could not have been more perfect. We give Laura our highest recommendation! -

Brilliant Ceremony
We feel so lucky to have had Laura as our wedding celebrant. From the very beginning she was personal, kind, and incredibly supportive, guiding us through the whole process with warmth and care. She took the time to really get to know us, and the ceremony she created felt so unique and authentic to who we are as a couple.
On the day, Laura brought such a calm and joyful energy, and made us (and our families) feel completely at ease. So many of our guests told us afterwards that they’d never been to a ceremony quite like it - it was heartfelt, meaningful, and full of personality.
We couldn’t recommend Laura more highly! She made our wedding day truly unforgettable. -

When we started planning our wedding, I knew I wanted to have a celebrant. Although neither of us had been to a celebrant ceremony before, I knew from my research that a celebrant could deliver a much more personal ceremony than a registrar. As soon as we met Laura on a Zoom call, we knew she was the perfect match for us. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, Laura was always there to answer our questions and provided us with all the help and guidance we needed to plan the perfect ceremony. As the big day got closer, we met Laura for a drink so she could get to know us better and begin writing our ceremony. Laura greeted us with a big hug and was so warm and friendly that it felt easy to share our love story with her. When we read through the first draft of the ceremony, we both cried – we couldn’t believe how carefully Laura had listened to us both, and how she had managed to weave in so much emotion while also adding humour in all the right places! We also chose to write our own vows and Laura was incredibly helpful, providing advice about the wording and structure to make sure that both sets of vows were of a similar tone. It’s actually hard to find the words to describe just how incredible our ceremony was, but it’s safe to say that Laura is absolutely top of her game! The whole thing felt so ‘us’ and really reflected our personalities, our love and our lives together. Everyone laughed and everyone cried – it really was more perfect than we ever could have imagined! EVERY SINGLE ONE of our guests commented on how amazing Laura was and that it was the best wedding that they’d ever been too – I really believe this was because Laura created such a personal ceremony for us. We are so grateful to Laura for writing and leading our wedding ceremony so beautifully and for giving us the most special memories for years to come. -

Choosing Laura as our celebrant was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Laura drew the best out of us and created a ceremony that was personal, joyful and entertaining. Telling Laura our story felt like talking to a friend, she is encouraging, warm and has that incredible ability to make you feel like you've known her a lifetime which puts you at ease. Even difficult topics, like my dad's passing - Laura handled with grace and ensured we could weave his presence into the ceremony in a way that could leave the whole room smiling. We knew how fantastic Laura's ceremony would be, but that so many of our friends and family came up to us immediately afterwards and declared it the 'best ceremony ever' is testament to her work. If only we could do it all again! -

The most Fantastical Celebrant
First of all I’m publicly apologising to Laura for taking so long to write this review!
Life has been busy since she married us but the truth is, I was probably putting it off as I didn’t know where to start or even begin to thank her for the most beautiful, well thought wedding ceremony I have ever attended! Yes, I’m biased as it was our wedding day, but that’s the truth.
I first came across Laura when researching alternatives to a civil ceremony. I, in particular, didn’t want a 20 minute ceremony with no real personal touch or emotion! So, having googled the difference between a civil ceremony and a celebrant led wedding, I knew for certain it was a celebrant wedding we wanted.
Next task was to google celebrants near to where we live, there were a lot of names and I had no idea where to begin in deciphering which one to choose. As I’m a visual person, I also googled to see if there were any videos of any celebrant led weddings. That’s when I came across Laura Gimson, I watched the videos that are for public viewing via google search and knew instantly she was the one I wanted for our wedding ceremony.
A Zoom call was arranged to have a chat…that call confirmed what I had already felt and knew, that Laura was absolutely the celebrant for us!
Right from the start, Laura made us feel at ease, and confident in her ability to deliver the wedding ceremony that we had envisaged. She was highly professional, informative and most importantly, warm and supportive.
We met Laura in person, so she could get to know us and our story better. The meet up was relaxed and chilled and it felt like we were just having a catch up with an old friend. She listened, asked questions and after 3 hours of chatting, Laura said she’d gathered enough Information to write our wedding ceremony. Those were the quickest 3 hours, I’ve ever spent!
Moving on to the first draft of the ceremony. Laura literally nailed in one, a part from one very small change, she had managed to capture our relationship in the most beautiful way.
Laura’s writing felt effortless, she had managed to get all the emotion, love and humour into our wedding ceremony and we were just blown away with how good she was.
I also need to mention how supportive Laura was to my husband when he was writing his bit about why he loves me. Richard will admit, he’s not the best with getting his thoughts and feeling on paper but with Laura’s support and guidance he was able to write something he was proud to read out and share with our family and friends.
Now to the actual wedding ceremony. Laura made it stress free, she took charge! She briefed/guided the groomsmen and bridesmaids, she welcomed the guests and ensured we all knew what we were doing and when!
Our ceremony room wasn’t huge, but it was big enough that Laura had to speak loud as we had no mic system. The seasoned pro she is, this did not faze her and she ensured our guests at the back could hear.
Laura’s led our ceremony with such love, care and humour. This really showed when so many of our guests complimented her and us on having such a wonderful and different (not boring, one guest said) wedding ceremony.
Words cannot do Laura’s talent any justice, you truly have to just trust her and watch the magic happen! Her ability to listen to your story, your love and life and create a ceremony that you and your guests will remember for a lifetime is unmatched! She is the best in her field and was worth every single penny!
I have been to another celebrant wedding since ours and this only further highlighted Laura’s talent for writing a wedding ceremony, which in my opinion is unrivalled.
If you’re on the fence about booking Laura for your wedding ceremony, let this review be your decider as she really will do you proud.

Truthfully, you and Richard made it easy for me because you were open books. It did make me laugh when you said Richard looks like he should be an EDL member because the reality is so far from that. He's a big softie really and I loved how hard he worked to let that side of him show in his ceremony. And you were just so enthusiastic! You won all the prizes for being super keen and eager to get stuck in even when the wedding was miles off! Thanks for having me along for the ride. It was brilliant fun. xx -
