Kates delivered a professional, flavourful and tailored service within a reasonable budget, bringing professional and friendly staff.
Starting with the search, Kates had upfront prices, a modern menu and good communication from the outset.
During the selection process, Kates allowed a great deal of flexibility that meant we felt we could change as the event developed. Although the charges for various things was sometimes unclear they were happy to help clarify.
Menu selection - Kates allowed us to have a tasting of the menu due to being over 100 people. This was an amazing experience where we got to try a variety of dishes in a personal setting with friendly staff and a relaxed environment where we also managed to organise more of the event in person with Kates. The food on the menu was unique, flavourful and modern, along with the items for evening food and the canapes.
Dietary – kates were extremely accommodating with dietary requirements and made it so there was as little deviation as possible from the core menu, ensuring a consistent experience for everyone whilst maintaining a high quality of food and taste.
On the weekend – Kates staff arrived the day before to go over the venue plan and setup some of the equipment. Everything that was mentioned and planned was remembered throughout the following day ensuring we were at peace of mind throughout the following day. The serving staff were friendly and professional throughout the weekend too, always willing to help.
Our menu
Canapes – Tempura prawns, wasabi mayo (df); Pea, spinach & ricotta arancini (v); Goats cheese vol au vent (v)
Meal – Citrus cured salmon, Japanese cucumber, lemon cream; Slow roast porchetta, mash potato, black pudding, apricot; Plum panna cotta, plum jelly, ginger crumb, pistachio
Evening – Macaroni pies; scotch pies

I can’t fault Kate’s bespoke - their attention to detail was second to none. As a bride and groom, we can’t be part of the whole wedding but rely on the staff to make sure everyone was having a good time. Almost every guest we spoke to made a comment about how attentive and good all the staff at Kate’s were. In particular, the drinks reception was so well done that nobody was left without a drink. They listen to our quirky ideas (to serve champagne from a hole in a wall) and to get a very very specific recipe for dessert - nothing was impossible and they blew me away with their professionalism. So slick, so good and the quality of the food was exceptional. If I could give them ten stars I would - worth every single penny. In particular you always want to have a Mhairi in your wedding team - she was outstanding personally and professionally.
