KATSUKO creates bespoke wedding dresses, individually designed and handmade by Japanese dressmaker Katsuko in her private studio in High Barnet, North London. Each gown is created around the bride’s ideas, personal style and measurements, with careful attention to fit, comfort and beautiful finishing.

A London College of Fashion graduate and member of the UK Guild of Master Craftsmen, Katsuko has worked independently since 2008. She combines years of dressmaking experience with the close attention to detail that defines her work, creating everything from understated silk gowns to romantic dresses featuring delicate lace.

A Personal Experience

Brides work directly with Katsuko throughout the process, from the initial design consultation and fabric selection to the fittings and final finishing. Every pattern is drafted individually, allowing the design and proportions to be tailored to each bride.

The process includes a toile fitting to refine the shape and fit before the chosen fabrics are cut, followed by fittings in the dress itself. Katsuko offers thoughtful advice on fabrics, construction and practical details, helping each bride make informed choices with confidence.

Katsuko specialises in working with beautiful silks and fine laces, with other fabric options available to suit the design and budget. Her work includes classic, contemporary and minimalist wedding dresses, as well as bespoke bridal separates, veils and accessories.

Bespoke wedding dresses start from £1,500, including fabrics and fittings. The final price depends on the design, materials and level of detail.
