We cannot recommend Marpessa highly enough! From our very first conversation, she was kind, professional, and genuinely passionate about creating something special for our wedding day. The cake she created completely exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely stunning and became a real talking point throughout the day — so many guests commented on how beautiful and unique it was, with several saying they had never seen a cake like it before. Not only did it look incredible, but every flavour was delicious. Our guests couldn't stop talking about it, and the biscuits disappeared almost immediately before we even had a chance to try them ourselves! What made the experience even more special was how much care and attention Marpessa put into every detail. You can tell she truly loves what she does and wants every couple's day to be perfect. She was a pleasure to work with from start to finish and helped make our wedding day even more memorable. We ordered a large wedding cake from Punk Cakes for around 70 guests, with vanilla sponge, passion fruit and strawberry filling, and needed it to be both gluten-free and dairy-free. It was honestly nothing short of incredible. The cake tasted absolutely fantastic. Gluten-free cakes can sometimes have a slightly powdery texture, but you genuinely would never have known this one was gluten-free. It was soft, delicious and everyone absolutely loved it. Casey was wonderful throughout the whole process. She was incredibly communicative, helpful with arranging the sample tastings, and made everything feel so easy from start to finish. Delivery on the day was completely seamless, and the cake itself looked stunning. We really couldn’t have asked for anything more and were so, so happy with how it all turned out. Thank you so much to Casey and the Punk Cakes team for making such a special part of our wedding celebration absolutely perfect!

I booked Abigail on a trusted recommendation from our wedding planner, and I’m so grateful we found her. From our very first conversation, we just clicked. She asked all the right questions and understood exactly what I was hoping to create. I wanted our cake to bring together two cultures—Indian and Spanish—through its flavours. Abigail spoke about her travels and how she takes inspiration from flavours around the world, and I loved hearing the thought and curiosity behind her work. When we discussed the two flavours—vanilla chai and dulce de leche with buttercream—along with a ganache finish, I felt she knew exactly what I had in mind. The tasting packs I ordered arrived so quickly, and everything tasted phenomenal. For the design, I wanted something elegant and understated to complement our beautiful greenhouse venue—beauty in simplicity. I also had two very personal requests: to include my tortoise and our family cat. I wanted the final design to be a surprise, leaving room for Abigail’s own flair to come through, and she more than delivered. The cake was beyond anything I could have imagined. It felt completely personal to us, with such a beautiful balance between elegance and those little details. And the taste lived up to the design. Our guests were still raving about the cake afterwards! Abigail also made gluten-free mango and coconut cupcakes for my mum, who doesn’t have a particularly sweet tooth, and they were absolutely delicious. It meant so much to have something special for her too. Throughout the whole process, Abigail was thoughtful, caring and very professional. Her communication was wonderful, and no detail ever felt like too much trouble. She brought everything together in just a few months and, in the lead-up to the wedding, even sent us some biscuits as a little gift—such a sweet and unexpected gesture. Abigail, thank you for all the love and care you poured into our cake. You took a collection of flavours, ideas and personal details and turned them into something beautiful that felt so much like us. I’ll always remember it with such happiness, and I couldn’t recommend you more warmly.

We chose Luminary because we love the spirit of their work (and their baking obviously!). We chose two cakes - one medium single tier and one medium two-tier and both were magnificent. They arrived on time and were perfect when the time came to cut the cakes! We had a tiny bit left over we're still munching on three days later and it's just as good.
