As a plus sized bride I was petrified of going dress shopping and had to be forced by my friends to start booking appointments.

At Coastal Bridal I was met with genuine enthusiasm and interest in my dress shopping and wedding planning experience. I was able to talk openly and honestly without judgement. There was no unsolicited advice of “you should only go to three dress shops or “never try on more than 10 dresses” etc. Even though I found my dress on my second day of shopping and had a month full of more appointments booked in the calendar, there was no pressure to make my decision or pay a deposit.

As a bride that didn’t want any flowers or lace I thought I might have to settle for a very plain dress but I was of course very wrong. I also worried that I might not know when I’ve found “the dress” as I’m not particularly emotional. Thankfully this dress did provoke a big reaction from me but it was more of an evil Disney villain cackle. To make the moment even better I was encouraged to imagine what could make the dress even more spectacular. I was able to swap the button back for a corset, remove a bow and add removal shoulder straps that I could pop off for the evening reception.

It was such a lovely experience we were greeted with drinks and I was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted and found my perfect dress! I went with my mother, sister in law and 5yo brother and the owner was perfectly accommodating to him, had my dream dress for under £500, my dress had a small stain on the front but had money taken off and that was enough to cover getting the stain out, perfectly reasonable prices and a lovely display of vails, headpieces, bouquets that I was able to try on. Couldn’t recommend enough!!

The outside and window display is beautiful to start with and then when you step into the shop and take your shoes off they have the most softest carpet and then you see the most beautiful dresses, there is a dress for everyone! Hailey (owner) makes you feel at ease when you first meet her, she makes the whole experience even better. She is kind, doesn’t judge and just makes you relax and puts you at ease. Finding your wedding dress can be hard and daunting, but Hailey made the experience totally different and listened to what I wanted and was able to find my dream dress. One of the best things about Coastal Bridal is that they work so closely with the wedding dress designers that if there is something you don’t like on the dress or you want changing to make you feel more comfortable, Hailey will be able to sort it or find a solution. I’m so happy I went to Coastal and can’t wait to pick up my dress.

I went to coast bridal in the hope of finding my wedding dress. It was such a beautiful set out, and Hailey made me feel so comfortable as soon as I set foot in there. She was knowledgeable and accommodating. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I wanted a shorter train on my dress, and Hailey went above and beyond by advising that this adjustment could be done free of charge by the vendor. When the dress arrived and I tried it on, it was absolutely perfect.

After a previous bad experience at a Bridal shop in the Southeast left me needing a dress with eight months to go. I was so insanely happy that Hayley was able to help me and make the dress of my dreams come true with such a short time scale.

The previous shop only had sample sizes up to a size 12 and as a size 16 woman I felt very uncomfortable being forced into dresses that clearly didn’t fit me. This was not the case at Coastal Bridal. Hayley had dresses to fit all body shapes, and being able to try on a dress slightly bigger than myself and have it clamped at the back so I could see the actual vision made me feel so beautiful. She went above and beyond in ordering extra appliqués so the Seamstress could alter the cleavage part of my dress. This woman really saved my wedding dress experience from the absolute nightmare I had previously encountered. I felt so stunning and confident!!!

I cannot recommend Coastal Bridal enough. From meeting Hailey at a few wedding fayres earlier in the year I instantly knew that she would be able to help me find my dream dress. She made the whole experience from start to finish so easy and relaxed and nothing was to much trouble. I never felt any pressure into buying a dress but came away so happy with not only my dress but how the experience of finding my dress was. As an older bride I wasn’t quite sure I should wear something bridal for my wedding. Maybe I should stick to something understated and sensible. Then my daughter pulled out the most gorgeous cream jumpsuit and I was sold. I don’t think I have ever slipped something on and it feel so perfect.

We got married in the Lake District and I could not have felt more glamorous.
