Father of the Bride Speech Examples

I advise any prospective father of the bride to start writing it early & go over it, as on the run up, there may be things you wish to add.

I was very nervous as I don't like standing up in front of people and having to talk - not my thing at all!  Anyway I managed to get through it even though it was emotional at times and it went quite well thankfully!   I was congratulated by lots of family and friends saying they enjoyed it and I did well - which was pleasing - so thought it was worth putting on here as I did look at this website and it did help me construct my speech coherently and gave me a few ideas which I expanded on which helped me pull it off! On arrival several of Louise's friends (whom we had known since childhood) told me they were looking forward to my speech.   Thankfully it was well received, with the addition of some extra-curricular remarks from conversations over dinner the night before; these added topical colour and humour.

This site helped a lot in formulating my speech.  So its my small way of sharing and giving back. 

My Speech was well received and i was told it even brought a few people to tears! I got lots of ideas from my speech from this website so i thought it is only right and the proper thing to do to post my speech on here and try and help other people as this site really helped me.I hope some people get some ideas and even copy some lines from my speech.

I get very emotional doing things like this so I kept it short and sweet, you are only the warm up act after all....

I got a lot of help from this site and thought I had submitted my speech to try and assist others. I am back again due to my second daughter’s wedding in September.  I found that making an A4 sheet of paper into two columns and printing on both sides and allowed the speech to be on one sheet of paper that I could fold in half instead of one large page. It worked for me.  

This site helped me and I hope it helps you. My speech was based on this site but some of the sentiment came from me. The pointers given were invaluable.

Groom roasts the best man and does the "absent friends toast"Best man pauses his speech to go to the toilet. (actually goes down really well and then proceeds to fully roast the groom)Pictures were done on powerpoint using hotels projector and a cheap maplin presentation fob used to work the laptop, went really well.
